AntoMac said:Hello,
Please may I join? The part of my mortgage I want to overpay is the interest only element. I will have to seriously rework finances this year as have to buy a new car. My target will be a low one. My interest only element is now only 7,550 pounds. If I can overpay by even 500 pounds with the expense of a new car I’ll be delighted.
At one point my credit card balances were 23k plus and I had a loan, so I didn’t really look at the interest only bit of the mortgage, which was originally 20k. Now my credit card balances are “only (haha)” around 9,400 and things are under control. This terrible lockdown has at least been good for me financially
Many thanks2 -
First OP of the year has gone out: £150. My £6k target will be a real stretch which the renovations I have planned, but for now I want to keep it as a stretch goal.2

Our first mortgage payment will go out overnight which includes £562 extra. I have an extra, extra £1000 in the budget to throw at it. I tried to set up a payment instruction wit the bank using the numbers and details Heliodor mortgages sent us but they weren't happy as they say the name and the account numbers don't match. I've got it in my head that Heliodor is the trading name of someone else so I've set it up and transferred a tenner, I'll see if it reaches them and then transfer more. Heliodor is a nightmare though as you have to message them and they then reply via post when they can be ar*ed to do so, usually about a month later.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020
