#26 with my first OP of £66.27 🙂
still debating my strategy so there may be more for January or I may just be paying the £66 a month to round down then pay £xx lump sum every now and again! Hopefully I’ll make my target this year! I would have last year if life didn’t throw me a curveball but I’ve gotta start 2021 thinking positive! XxxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700
Mortgage ends Aug 2050 MFW: Aug 2027

Happy New Year Julicorn, would love make an o/p today, but the Bank Holiday means nothing updates Bank-wise, and I do like to 'keep it tidy'
So I will just wish you a Happy New Year and get back to you on Monday when the computers wake up again and I can round down to the next £K bracket.

mark55man said:Hello MFW Newbie here, so indulge me please with an introduction and TMI
Couple of years ago I remortgaged (7 year fix @ 2.1% with 8 year term) and in doing so upped my previous payment by £200pm to bring my MF Date forward to 2026. I'm not able (10% Cap) to OP as much as I need to clear - so I have created a matching savings pot and I'm going for mortgage neutral by the end of 2024. The pot will then be dedicated to meeting my regular payments as quickly as possibly, but separate from the rest of my finances.
I started my thinking with a basic target of £880pm or £10500 this year, but I want to stretch myself so will commit to a target of £12K in 2021. The way I think of it is that that extra £1500 is one months mortgage payment, and in that month I will spend it on 2 weeks by the seaside with my OH rather than pay to the BS
Thank you @julicorn for doing this - any number will do0 -
Thanks Julicorn - if only it was MF by #22 - well I can dream, but that is £50K a year so maybe not
