Welcome back :) Would you be happy with a lower number?
HI @julicorn . Yes I am perfectly happy to be given a lower number :) Thank you :)
That's great, thank you - helps tidy the spreadsheet up a little, haha! I've moved you up to #104 now :)

Can I join too. Have had my mortgage since 2006 and not taken paying off mortgage seriously.
Covid has made me more determined to loosen this noose! Want to set a target of £3000.
Balance of mortgage is £88,182.35 Started in 2006 at about £145,999.
I don't mind where I am on the sheet.
Welcome to the challenge! You're our #107 now :)

  • I would love to join again, being part of this challenge has really kept me focused this year.
I was #36 this year and I'm happy to keep this or change, whatever works for you is good for me.
Target for next year.... I would like to aim for £8000 OP for 2021, this is on top of my usual payments so should hopefully make a dent in my (still very big) mortgage  :)
Sorry @julicorn can I be a pain and update my target? Going to aim bigger and go for the full 10% max OP next year so revised target of £18,025 for me
Small OPs are better than no OPs
    Start date - Feb 2018 £231,000 / Apr 2042
    July 2025 £116,950 / Dec 2025
MFW #60…. Back in for 2025!
  • Hi, I’ve decided to take the plunge and become a MFW. We have a mortgage which had a balance of over £133000 this morning before I used a chunk of our savings to pay off the maximum allowed 10% for this calendar year.  So I will go into 2021 with a mortgage of £119,000 and a target of £6000.  This may not work out as my husband’s hours at work have been halved but he’s looking for something else to fit in and around the kids.   And I love a challenge!
MFW start date 30/12/20 with mortgage of £133,492, final payment due October 2038
Current mortgage outstanding £116,597.49, final payment due October 2036
Target final payment date: December 2030
