Simplycynical said:Hi Julicorn, can I join please? After finding myself unexpectedly, but happily, single in 2019 I took a big leap of faith and in August this year, at the age of 60, took out a 15 year mortgage and bought my forever home. My goal is to overpay my mortgage so that I can afford to stay in my home when I reach retirement age in 6 years time.I have been fortunate that the stamp duty holiday has already allowed me to make overpayments that have effectively doubled my monthly payments to date and I'd like to set a, slightly ambitious, target of £10,000.00 for 2021.Thank you!1

varfor said:Hi Julicorn, happy new year! I’d like to sign up for 2021 if I can. I don’t mind which number I’m allocated (#112 last year) and I have £1920 as my annual target
On that note, if anyone is interested in a lower number, now is your chance0 -

Morning and HNY everyone!
#13 reporting in unexpectedly early in this challenge. Having been made redundant at the end of Sept I put a lot of OPs on the back burner.....I have a new job starting in Jan, but it's 1/4 of what im used to earning. i wasnt going to OP until I was through probation but I forgot to 'skip' the Jan OP and therefore have OPs £1,101 by 'accident'
.
At least it's got me out of the blocks lol!
Have a great day everyone!

Hello MFW Newbie here, so indulge me please with an introduction and TMI
Couple of years ago I remortgaged (7 year fix @ 2.1% with 8 year term) and in doing so upped my previous payment by £200pm to bring my MF Date forward to 2026. I'm not able (10% Cap) to OP as much as I need to clear - so I have created a matching savings pot and I'm going for mortgage neutral by the end of 2024. The pot will then be dedicated to meeting my regular payments as quickly as possibly, but separate from the rest of my finances.
I started my thinking with a basic target of £880pm or £10500 this year, but I want to stretch myself so will commit to a target of £12K in 2021. The way I think of it is that that extra £1500 is one months mortgage payment, and in that month I will spend it on 2 weeks by the seaside with my OH rather than pay to the BS
Thank you @julicorn for doing this - any number will do
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
