Yeah I had to use Excel to untangle all the bills and various credits all over the place.
    ...
which makes me wonder if they bamboozle their entire customer base with nonsensical bills?
They've definitely tried their best to bambooze with my bills, when I'd finally left SP they rescinded my previous bills and recalculated with everything in different orders and different rates from advertised. Fortunately I have a very fancy spreadsheet which I used to re-calculate everything from first principles. Amazingly it's just-about right.

I've received a cheque today that actually matches what I think I'm owed, so YE account closed out via SP, and SP account closed.

My SP issues are with the ombudsman as of a few days ago and SP have offered £50 compensation, that only puts me back where I would have been had I NOT been told I could wait and set up a DD when the account was set up (yes I paid £50 more for my winter energy by being on the "quarterly" tariff), doesn't compensate for their other lies, blocking my switches, hours on the phone etc.
However, I've made my point and I have better uses for my time than chasing for more money.

I got my final from YE dated 4th Feb.  I see from my bank that I shall get my due refund tomorrow and that is going to be 10 weeks since this bill.  Things seemed to start moving once I formally complained to them 6th April so I'd suggest you do the same if you haven't already  :D
  • Anyone else still left in limbo from having left YE before they collapsed?  I wasn't transferred across to SP as my supply was live with another provider when they entered administration. Received my final bill nearly 5 weeks ago and SP have no record of me existing at all.

Have chased and called SP numerous times, help@ye has fallen silent and seem to be running short on ideas now.

To throw a spanner in the works I no longer live at the property that YE supplied so don't want a cheque for the credit going to that address.

SP should have contacted you.  They are responsible for paying credit balances of customers who left YE before it collapsed - that is what SP agreed with OFGEM when it was appointed SOLR.  https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/yorkshire-energy-customers-your-questions-new-supplier-scottish-power  If SP are refusing to pay or not responding, I guess the next stop is OFGEM.

SP is like the saga that just keeps giving.

Just got a final final amended final bill (in other words the 3rd so called final bill) from SP some 2 months after leaving them and I'm outraged.....it seems I now owe them the grand sum of 14p  :D.   They've now cancelled all the periodic bills and have issued this new revised bill covering the whole period I was with them.  However, the meter readings oddly have not changed whatsoever.

It's taken a good few minutes to work out where the extra 14p has come from but it seems on the gas element they have applied a calorific value of 39.1 to convert to KWh across the whole period whereas one of the previous periodic bills they had used 39.2 and the effect is to increase the KWh by 4.76 (which at 2.76p a unit is roughly 14p).

Cheeky blighters....maybe I should raise a complaint.   Or maybe not ......seeing as they've completely forgotten to charge for Gas for a number of weeks in the whole period  :D.  No...probably best I let them have their 14p and keep my head down.
  • I'm still waiting on a £200+ credit to be repaid from YE (technically from Scottish Power as Supplier of Last Resort taking over YE customers). YE issued my Final Statement on their web portal on 23 March  (nearly 4 months after YE went into administration). I called Scottish Power today and they say that they have not yet received details of my credit from YE. Apparently they receive batches of customer balance records from YE administrators periodically and say I should check again in 2 weeks. They told me that 15% of YE customer account records are still outstanding (as of 16 April). That's around 11,100 of us waiting on transfers based on 74,000 YE customers being SOLRd to SP. Scottish Power say they can't do anything without the file being transferred. To be fair, Ofgem do helpfully state that "The review process can take some time"  :/  (which could be months or years I suppose).

    A couple of other points...
    1. I called the dedicated SP helpline 0800 5593309 at precisely 09:00 hours and got through with no queue!! Previously I called just after 9am and was initially told it was a 6 minute queue time that ended up as 45 minutes. So I recommend you call on the dot of 9am!
    2. Obviously my credit balance was very high. Before people jump in to say this was foolish of me, I should point out this occurred due to extremely high seasonal usage variation. I had supplied readings to YE before they went into administration but they didn't act on those. The fact that I have one of those lovely smart meters that became dumb when I switched to YE didn't help either.

Moneyguy my credit was also high, partly because they took a payment right before they went under.

I've been trying to work out what my current electricity payment should be so I can put extra aside (it's estimated annual usage because I didn't notice where to put in my actual usage). Lockdown really bumped up my annual usage with three people working or studying from home. Only one is home now so I adjusted it with a spreadsheet and my children called me a nerd 😁
  • I was given YorkshireEnergyAdministrarion@Deloitte.co.uk to contact, along with copying in help@ye.co.uk

    Heard back from help@ with

I have passed your details to back office to make sure your account is on credit list to be passed to Scottish Power. Please allow 24 to 48 hrs before contacting Scottish Power to claim for refund.

    Shall see what Monday brings....

10 weeks tomorrow since my final bill from YE and still no credit to my SP account.  I already partly paid my final SP bill so that the YE credit exactly clears the balance.  I have had about 10 conversations with SP about this and in the last one 3 days ago they said 'you do not need to take any action we are chasing YE'.

This morning they are harassing me by text message asking me to call them about my bill.  Diabolical
