Just got an email from Avro saying the switch went smoothly and they will be supplying my energy from tomorrow! They have requested opening meter readings. And I *STILL* have not heard a single thing from SP since the original email early Dec asking for direct debit details (which they have set up). No account email, no welcome pack, no emails or texts of any kind, including nothing about me leaving them. I chose not to go in and set up my online account using the direct debit account number, I decided to let them sort out their crap first and do it in the right order so I have no clue what my account might say. Going to be months of fun and games sorting out my one and only bill with them and the refund from YE but at least I am out.Regarding these meter readings, Avro want the opening readings, do they then provide those to SP for SP to use as their closing readings? Since SP have not contacted me in any way, I assume the new provider gives the old provider the opening/closing readings, otherwise how will SP have any clue what to bill me?....they haven't asked me for closing readings.0

I may decide to let SP sort out the mess without intervention at least until I have switched to AVRO (3rd Feb).0 -
I've had three emails from SP so far:
- 07/12/2020 - Initial "Action Required" email where I was informed what had happened and to input my details, which I did.
- 17/12/2020 - "Quick Update about your Smart Meter" - we've identified that we may not be able to take automated meter readings from your current Smart meter(s). My team are working hard to resolve this for you, but please don't worry, your energy will continue uninterrupted and you won't notice any change to your supply.
- 06/01/2021 - "Your transfer is underway", don't cancel your Direct Debit with YE.

Yep, 29th Dec I started the switch and at the time gas still said Daisy. It was only a few days later it then changed to SP (electric already said SP) so I suspect both said SP by the time Avro tried to process anything. That was my plan all along knowing the electric was already done and the gas would probably be done soon so I took a punt that by the time Avro tried to do anything the gas would be done anyway.

Just had the new Tariff details from SP:
Elec:
Unit rate 17.486 pkwh - a 25% increase!
Std charge 19.90 p/day - 18.3% increase
Absolutely ridiculous. If they can 'buy' their customers then why are they not bound to honor the contracts we had with YE? I bet their sure to honor any debt we owe them on our bills or can we decide what % we want that reduced by?0 -

Credit balances are protected and Scottish Power are liable to refund those as per the SoLR process agreed with Ofgem.1 -
I tried to set up my Direct Debit when they asked but we have a joint account with initials and the "&" sign in the account name. Scottish Power's web site would not allow an "&" to appear and kept on rejecting it. I wrote to them in early December and highlighted this problem and have written three more times giving them meter readings and the like. I have never had a single reply. Today I received details of the tarrif (my old YE tarrif prices in brackets)Day rate 21.709p (13.799)Night rate 9.2797p (9.232)Standing charge 21.36p (19.903)I think what really gets me is all the correspondence is written as if they are deliberately trolling "We've put you on our Energy Exclusive tariff - this is a tariff created specifically for former customers of Yorkshire Energy, and provides some of our most competitive prices. " Yes - the night rate is competitive - but the rest - a 50% hike in day rate!"Again, welcome to ScottishPower - we're working tirelessly to make your move to us as smooth as possible.Yours sincerely Lynda Clayton, UK Custopmer Service Direcetor"
"...working tirelessly.." No you are not - I have had to wait 6 weeks to find out my tarrif information despite asking in early December. You have not addressed the problem I placed before you about the web page on the direct debit nor set up the DD manually and now you are penalising me with a high tarrif becasue you say I have not set up a DD - because your system does not work and you cannot be a r sed to reply to civil emails sent to you.
And to cap it all they can't even get my name right apparently I am "Ai" Where did that come from ?
Does anyone have rate figures for SP if they have set up a Direct Debit with SP ?

That's it! had enough waiting around for SP so I've registered with Green Energy, according to MSE it will save me £142 per year compared SP. And if they go tilt I know I don't have to wait for a new supplier to take me on if I don't like their deal.
Thanks for the heads up Ewokuk!0
