They will be as affordable as petrol/diesel cars are now. Used cars will be around for 10 to 15 years there after.4

ICE vehicles are not being banned There will still be vast numbers of second hand ICE vehicles available for purchase for many years after 2030. Also, by then electric cars will have dropped in price.

All the old petrol and diesel cars are not going to suddenly vanish in 2030. And when the remaining old bangers finally give up the ghost several years later, there will be plenty of second hand electric and hybrid cars to choose from. But don’t let that get in the way of your sensationalism 😉17

Petrols going to get more and more expensive over time anyway as supplies get harder.
Electric vehicles will become cheaper for most people after some point.
No-one is getting priced off the roads. Remember that in another 10 years there will be 15+ year old EV's on the market for sub £1000 with plenty of usable range.
Electric cars are the future, even if fossil cars don't get banned noone will buy them anyway. Get used to it

In ten years time, there will be no new non-plugin cars on the UK market. In fifteen, there will be no new PHEVs either. But the average age of a car at scrapping in the UK is nearly 14yrs.
Also, very few people buy new cars outright. Mostly, they finance them. The gap in cost on financing is FAR smaller. Let's take a car that's available as both a decent-range BEV and ICE...
