Goodintentions said:Narc0 that sounds horrendous! I don't do mud running (I don't have the right trainers - or motivation!!) I am lucky that I can run along the seafront, which is flat & no roads to cross, although it does get quite big puddles and can be a bit breezy, as well as not being that well lit along some bits. I have said we will go for a run tonight 😬
Plus.....fanfare.....3 engineers are here. Currently all scratching heads, drilling and cutting to get the old range out. I've just made them all tea and done a coffee for myself. We have a nasty feeling the long-sought and enormous stainless steel flue might be destined for the inside of the kitchen and not the outside wall. Hoping very much that we are wrong.
I've retired to my study with a coffee, having filled the flask I take to uni - a bit more report written and off to work at 12.
An MSE question - does anyone know any sources of £5 goggleplay vouchers? I always get my mum a particular e advent calendar, but this year they have reformatted it so it won't work on her Linux computer. I can get one for her tablet and even found an Amazoo voucher for £5 but it seems you can only get the playstore gift ecards starting at £10. I found one other gift site but they wanted to charge £6.31 for a £5 card......I don't think so.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Not sure what happened to the morning???
GF did the self test and it has been posted off. DS's Dad dropped off some batteries for the thermometer which arrived this morning. All temperatures taken and all normal - much to GF's amazement as she's hot then freezing.
Brought down the laundry hamper, sorted the contents into loads and one load swished. Laundry shuffle done and washed load added to airer. Fed the birds, put out the rubbish and recycling.
Fielded lots of texts from concerned friends and colleagues. And watched BH while I ate my lunch.

Slow progress this afternoon, but have updated my time sheets and progressed a tiny little bit with the reports.
I know what we're having for dinner, so nother no spend day. Still no meal plan and I need to shop tomorrow, might have to just see what is on offer and take it from there. We spend a lot on food and drink but I don't mind as long as it doesn't get wasted. We do eat well and enjoy a glass or two of wine.
Just taken OH a cup of tea and biscuits so I'm going to go and enjoy mine too.8 -
Another laundry shuffle done. Bins out ready for collection tomorrow. Curtains closed. WUDUPA a bowl of pots.
DS has made the commute home - from the kitchen lol
I cannot tell a lie- I've had my nose stuck in my book all afternoon and I still haven't worked out whodunnit!!!

Hi all
I have cleaned my oven. Some unidentified person had spilt something or allowed something to boil over and it smelt terrible when I switched it on. I know it wasnt me. Got 2 loads of washing almost dried over the airers with the dehumidifier on, 7 hours paid stuff, strength training class done first thing, brisk walk at lunchtime, and yoga tonight. Roast dinner cooked, kitchen tidied (oh except the hob needs cleaning, it was still warm). A busy old day.
Mild here again too, its supposed to be colder tomorrow, I have to go into the office so I had better put something warm on.
Narco I would love to live by the sea too, or maybe have a little holiday home somewhere very remote where no-one could bother me. Ah well, we can dream.

Evening all, not sure what has happened to this week - it has disappeared from me 🥺
All my good intentions have gone out the window..
So far I've changed the bed, washed a couple of wash loads, sorted out DH's computer and tablet so they sync and he can finally get to his one drive. Decluttered the toaster but replaced it with a new one. Decluttered one cupboard in the kitchen and threw stuff away in the hippo bag out front.
I've taken gods knows how many deliveries of parcels so far this week - they are all Christmas presents.
I had a bit of good news I'm getting some money back on the marriage tax allowance, and backdated too, that Martin was talking about on Lorraine this morning. I thought I'd see if it would work and and behold it went through.. So that will pay off some of my Credit Card. 😀Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Tuesday went to pot when I was called to work. Today I have been in all day. Afterwards sorted and issued Christmas cards and tags. The mugs, tea towels and bags for life haven't come yet. I've asked for a text to go out saying that so people don't start calling.
Then, as per new password guidelines, was preparing to change password on laptop, not least because it expires tomorrow. Cue much swearing because the new system doesn't fluffing work. As I have done many times previously I entered old password. Instead of, however, letting me complete new password field (and check field) it just came up with 'your password has been changed'. Well all I can say is it's so sodding secure no !!!!!! can get in...not even me...because there's no way of finding out what it has been changed to...
phoned boss. Now have to go tomorrow to get laptop & password as I shall need it Cue major eye rolling...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
