pigpen said:Dot has been offered an appointment to start her assessment for.. this Friday!!! I just flipped into panic mode!
Spoons, hugs and condolences to all.
Quick post as I must be up early in case the range engineer turns up......everything crossed that it will be sorted soon. Glad weather is mild as we are likely to be without heating for 3 days and cooking reduced to a 2-ring hob and a microwave.
Report finished and emailed. Another started.
Paperwork set up for this week's assessments.
Went for a run. Oh my word you should have seen me when I got back - could bear the liquid mud but came a cropper in some deeper stuff (the joys of Essex/Herts clay) when I ran out of one trainer. Lifted sock-clad foot out of the mire and balanced while I retrieved the stuck trainer, talk about suction. Overbalanced trying to put retrieved trainer back on, landed on hands - luckily I was wearing gloves. Ick what a mess. Socks, trainers and gloves now soaking in a bucket of water.
Mr N has put everything in kitchen likely to be in the way of the engineers in a tidy pile.

Yuk and more yuk, Narc0. The joys of winter running. Fingers crossed that the range engineer gets there and gets started today.
Wm is on, and that might be the flying peak for today.

Good morning!
Mademoiselle you have been busy this morning, although I think you are an hour ahead of us? 🤔😂
Round it sounds like you are using your enforced home time wisely. I hope GF is feeling a bit better today.
Narc0 that sounds horrendous! I don't do mud running (I don't have the right trainers - or motivation!!) I am lucky that I can run along the seafront, which is flat & no roads to cross, although it does get quite big puddles and can be a bit breezy, as well as not being that well lit along some bits. I have said we will go for a run tonight 😬
Paid stuff today. Food bin emptied into Lottie the Hottie, dog walked (dragged!) up the road. The sun is out, so I think I will take the boys for a walk in the woods after lunch.
Still no news on the kitty 😭 I think it wasn't meant to be. I am finding it so hard to find one, unless I want to pay silly money!! (which I don't!)
Have a good day everyone!7 -
GI have you tried your local vets / rspca/ cat protection / pdsa / asked (rung) at the local cattery for a kitten? and dare I say it but FB / gumtree, but there are some real scams over animals on those 2 sites sadly.Found my missing bar of cooking chocolate it was in the freezer!Dressed / bed done / kitchen done/ cat fed/ about to take loads of eby photos, house guest has decided to fling stuff on there and needs help, I have nothing better to do this morning.Very wind here again, may go and fly my kite this afternoon.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Kaz I haven't rung any of these organisations, but have been looking on their websites. You have to be so quick! I wasn't 'actively' looking, as DH was against it - if something came up I would cross that bridge 😂 But I was shocked at some of the prices - £300+++ for a 'moggy', normal black & white, or tabby, ginger, tortoiseshell, etc short-haired cats. It's criminal! Then stick a name like 'bengal', 'ragdoll' or 'maine coon' and the sky is the limit!! Profiteering!! I may try ringing the local cattery that takes Cats Protection strays etc.
After glimpsing a mouse the other night, I checked the tray of bait that hadn't been touched for months & it was gone! Maybe that has sorted the problem 🤔
Another problem that I am hoping will be sorted is the heating which is on permanently despite being turned off! Engineer is coming tomorrow after I finish work 🤞 Narc0 I hope your engineers have arrived & get it installed/sorted 🤞6 -
GI yes I am an hour ahead of you and I am a morning person, if I don't do it in the morning you might as well forget about it. I also list what I've done to remind myself that I have done something as I got into a spiral of thinking I hadn't done anything so what was the point of doing something, at least see what I have done and am very slowly seeing the benefits, but still so much to do.
Been doing some interesting reading this morning and have collected much information.
I am shocked to read about the price of kittens, I have 2 (now older cats) but didn't pay for either of them, first one cost me a bunch of flowers or box of chocs as it was a friends parents whose farm cat had kittens so they kept them as I had expressed an interest, the second one turned up in the garden at around 6 - 9 months old, probably abandoned as the novelty had worn off. Sadly we get quite a few as we are not that far from the city and folks think that cats abandoned in the countryside can fend for themselves. We even had a couple of sheep abandoned in the field up the road. Rather nice 'fashionable' ones not the common white type. Luckily the owner of the field set up a water trough for them as it was mid summer and they would quicky have suffered.
Better think about preparing some veg to have with our lunch. Then we can go for a quick walk in the sun6 -
GI.. I got my 4 fluffies off a FB group.. we went to the persons home and saw them... twice .. before getting them.. it’s ok so long as they aren’t asking for dodgy stuff like ‘meet in a car park’ I think if you see them in the home with their mum it gives you an idea of the temperament. Rescues are not doing viewings but you can reserve online and pick up.. they usually have a hefty fee which is to cover their food and bills and overheads etc. You could try a ‘wanted’ ad?I have done.. nothing.. I’m not even dressed..
girls are out to school..
Dot is in the NHS wait list for assessment.. FINALLY!!!I have her SPD assessment tomorrow. Her private assessment has been nudged to next week because I can’t take any more this week.I am having a stress eczema flare up in addition to my seasonal one and I am in a messy place in the house which I need to sort.I have so much stuff, no space and 4 bedrooms are full of other stuff.. I am having yesterday and today off other than basics and attacking the house tomorrow and over the next few days. I will have order again.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6
