The question is, will EBay recognise this?     They count Saturday as a working day

I suspect we both know (or fear) the answer to that 😕

So I posted an item sent 2nd class signed for on 17-11-2020. The tracking is saying received at the Post Office but nothing else. The buyer messaged asking where is my item.

I've not sold properly on ebay for ages. Do I just get the buyer to open a case and then refund them or is there a waiting time? I've told the buyer to hold on for a day or two but not sure if this is fair on them.

What if I refund the buyer and then it gets delivered? Am I able to make them pay if a refund has been issued or is it just a loss on my side then?

It talks about letter delivery, then later on says parcel delivery is only obligated for 5 days yet they do 6. So if they scrap letter delivery, does that mean the 6th day of parcel delivery goes with it? Just checking that I'm understanding correctly.
Theres a lot to be sorted out.
I fully expect they will retain 6 day parcel delivery. Remember they wont magically disappear a chunk of their staff overnight.
stocking up a days worth of parcel traffic present more issues than it solves from an operational point of view.

It is definitely get worse here, whether it is the London end or not I don’t know but I have gone from no complaints to a handful of ‘where is my item’ messages.

The  INR I mentioned above was closed as the item arrived on day 9 in the end, I have one person threatening to open a case today now, even though their item was only sent last Tuesday which was 2 days earlier than my stated dispatch time (it’s on my private account where I have a 3 day dispatch). In fact I don’t understand the eBay suggested arrival times at all, something sold yesterday on a 3 day dispatch with a 3 day courier shows as arriving on Saturday - which is nonsense . So not only is RM taking a while but eBay seem to be putting daft suggested delivery dates that don’t seem to take into account even the normal delivery times.

I’ve got one package going across London that’s been 12 days so far but buyer is being very patient and says their post is only arriving two or three days a week .

At the moment MyHermes is actually delivering faster than RM for parcels, and I never thought I’d say that!

  • I totally agree with the MyHermes comment. They have been so quick recently.

    Couldn't agree more.

I ordered a metal polisher which weighed about 9kg from a company in Wales at 2pm on Black Friday, got a Hermes dispatch note at 3.20pm, and by 11am on Saturday it had arrived at my door in Newcastle!

This was in a mail from Royal Mail this morning.     When was economy 4 working days ?  I thought it was 2-3 working days, and it’s now changing to 6 working days (even more if they stop Saturday letter delivery)     The next mail received within minutes announced that their prices will be going up from 4th jan.

I was just about to post up a link to the new prices, unless ebay take into account the RM estimates I can see me losing a lot of money to INRs if I continue, add to that any price rises for the services I use (and I am struggling to work out what service is going up where) and I am feeling a little despondent.

I will start a new thread, but here's a link to RM price increases

  • Has anyone else received the mail I showed above ?  There are discussions about the price increase, but not the extended delivery times
