The £100 is the default daily tariff for a breach of contract , it's a typical maximum charge which has been around for a decade
You can try an appeal based on frustration of contract due to the PDT machine being mended so you left promptly, clause 13 of the BPA CoP2 -

The driver could not use the PDT machine due to it being repaired by onsite maintenance , so the driver left promptly because it was impossible to pay for parking due to the faulty machine2
