You don't have to justify what you spend your money on - though it would be nice to hear which brand showed such good customer service. I was simply pointing out that, as your coat was £200, it wasn't from those two brands. Of the five brands you named - White Stuff, Sea Salt, Hobbs, Barbour and M&S - I actually own jackets from all bar Barbour and they're all ones I wear for "everyday", though I would say that the Hobbs and M&S ones are far better made than the other two.
I believe the OP is waiting for the vouchers to arrive before naming the retailer:

Out of interest, what is the coat?  If you've got a respose from them that you are happy with (and possibly above and beyond what they needed to do) you may as well give them a free plug
Thanks, I will do as soon as my vouchers arrive.🙂

why I have to justify how I spend my money is beyond me.
No-one was asking you to justify how you spend your money.
The request about saying who you had bought the coat from was simply that you have received good outcome and it would be nice to give the company a positive mention for their customer service - especially in these difficult times.

Received £20 vouchers as a goodwill gesture.  I have used some iron on mending tape on the inside of the pocket (quite a lot!). But because the coat is patterned I am hoping it is not too obvious.  I have also cut the button off the other pocket as well  just in case it catches on anything again.   The company  involved was Gudrun Sjoden and I have bought loads of their stuff before and always been happy with quality and wearability.

Thanks for updating about your resolution. Probably a bit too "folksy" for my taste - I'm veering more towards Jigsaw at the moment and White Stuff for scruffing around. Gave up on Hobbs years ago when they decided that their customers only wanted either a work suit or something suitable for Ascot/ office Christmas party.

I'd not heard of this company, however, looking at their website I can see how a casual coat could cost £200.00.
Are you happy with the £20.00?

I think the suggestion from Pattycake about invisible mending was the best one but maybe not available at the moment, depending where you're located.

    Thanks for the update..

Yes  some of it often is “folksy” so you have to pick and choose.  I have 3 organic linen dresses/tunics in plain colours, black, navy and oatmeal and they are fantastic. You can wear them on their own with boots or over leggings and they wash and  iron beautifully. i think they must be 3 years old now but every time I wear them people say how nice they are and ask where I got them.  The first time I went out in my “unlucky” parka a woman stopped me and said it was such a lovely print.  Gudrun’s catalogues vary .... sometimes it’s all very flowery and fancy, other times it is more plain and wearable.  catalogues come out every couple of months. One arrived today actually so I now have to decide what to put my vouchers towards. 😄
