If you wear a uniform for work or pay a professional registration fee you can get tax relief on both of those things.

I think I should have the same tax perks as somebody declared bankrupt. I want an NT tax code

No extra tax relief unfortunately. I've always thought too that commuting costs etc should be tax deductible, as is the case for the self-employed, but that's not going to change any time soon.

Presumably you had your home location first - and then chose your work location second and it was your choice to commute and you were commuting anyway (ie not a transfer to further away by your employer).

Even if the OP chose his work location first, then chose to move to a different home location, the key word is CHOSE.
Unless of course his work location was changed by his/her employer e.g. the department they worked in was moved to another - further away - location. But in that situation, the OP would almost certainly have had some choice in the matter.

And the OP will probably have a better chance of still having a job at the end of this - unlike some of the people furloughed or working from home.

Surely everyone can see the point the OP is making is the majority of those working at home are NOT incurring additional costs but actually probably saving costs and time.   I for one am fed up of people on this forum squealing for help, because the teabags they used to get in the office, they now need to pay for themselves.
At £1.20 a week I would wager a majority of people that are WFH won't even bother claiming it.
The difference is that the cost of travelling to and from your regular place of work are your costs, whereas extra costs people have from WFH they are effectively paying on behalf of the company.
So really the company should pay these additional costs (as small as they are) but as many companies won't pay it then there is a small tax relief available
