Still around and potting away, had a scare last weekend when DD1 who has Covid was taken to hospital because the doctor she spoke to (from 111) thought from what she told him that she had a blood clot on ther lung. DGD2 also has it and DGD1 was waiting a PCR test result, I felt so helpless, couldn't go to the hospital to be with DD and couldn't go to DGDs either. Thankfully it wasn't a blood clot and she was home before midnight, DGD2's test came back negative and some semblence of order was restored.DD1 is still poorly but beginning to feel something like normal. Scary times.

Afternoon all SPCers! I hope it's been a good week for everyone. 😄 Whatever you're doing have a lovely weekend. For all those not feeling so well or are a little low, please take care, and I really hope you're soon back with us. For now, here are some hugs and look after yourselves ❤️Hi Siju, and hugs to you too. 🫂Many thanks indeed, DH is quite a bit easier now, the Tramadol helped a lot, but made him feel quite woozy at times; he's left them off for a couple of days and will see what happens next. The Dr says there's nothing more that can be done, just manage it. ☹️Wonderful for you and your DH to have learned German, especially to GCSE level, brilliant!!! 😳😀 I just love the language, though the length of some of those words!!
Japanese culture too, wow!
It must be wonderful for you to have your DD's little pups, but what a miss when they go back. 😟 Now DH too, hardly fair is it. Why not do a or German refresher course and sprichst du Deutsch to yourself all day, more of a challenge, it'll keep you occupiedtoo!Great potting again!Oh dear scotmumof3, so I take it you've both recovered and are getting over it now? As you say, at least you're saving one way or other! Keep safe and save as and when you're able.Hi Hetty, that Santa Special Train would appear to now want to raise the money but knock own the goodies, I don't blame you for giving them the elbow. 😡Enjoy yourselves with DNick 😂 Whittington panto, they're always a good laugh.Have a lovely evening too.Whoops, I've just seen your 2nd post so altered it a little! 😉It would appear you have someone who just loves dropping enough for the picker-upper to be pleased with d'you think Ant? Well either that or it's purely coincidental, most likely the latter. 🙄This blessed (not to confused with blessed) Covid is still very much ongoing and looks likely to raise its ugly head even more through the winter again! Let's hope everyone decides to be double vaccinated, boostered too for all it applies to, so it can be hammered out once and for all asap!Until we're all jabbed none of us are safe!!Well done on having potted more Ant!Ooh Lucy, poor you and your DD1 and DGD2, no wonder you felt so helpless for them both, but thank goodness a clot wasn't the case for your DD1!! Such relief for you all. I hope she's soon feeling very much better and soon fully recovers. Very best wishes to them both please. ❤️ Scary times for sure.DH & I decided to go out for the day yesterday so we went to The New Forest near our home town of Ringwood in Hampshire. We'd just got to the Forest when a waking seizure hit, one of the ones where sadly, I don't go unconscious! They're terrible, as I experience everything within a normal Tonic Clonic seizure which I wouldn't wish on anyone! For a good 1/2 hour we sat huddled together as it went on an on, then through the post-ictal (after affects) phase which are full of shaking and crying uncontrollably. Normally, I go unconscious and don't experience any of these, apart from the post-ictal which are so different after having been unconscious, thank heavens.Another vile experience for us both, yet we've still not been given the additional drug from the Drs, prescribed by my Neurologist! They've had the Consultant's letter detailing which type and so forth and we've been in touch twice trying to get it!! This all happened about a month ago, shocking! We obviously never got to go within the Forest and came on home - to a phone call from our Vet to say the biopsy taken from our dear Jessie on Monday shows it's malignant, or it might be!! It's the size of a grape, will need an operation to be sure and it'll take a long time and be very painful!! It'll cost between £700 & £1,000. It wasn't the Vet DH had seen (who said she'd ring) this one sounded nothing short of callous to be honest. DH only took Jess on Monday because she's been itching a lot lately for which she gave her a steroid injection which has definitely worked. Forgive me friends for letting off steam a little, but I needed to get it off my chest to help me/us, who better than to our family here on SPC.Sue xxHave a SUPER WEEKEND, folks! Keep very safe and healthy!!Sue xxNB Folks: Opening date for this year is 28th October 2021

Oh dear Sue what a horrible few days. Why does it take so long to sort you out with the right medication?! I’m sure if it was actually affecting the Dr who should be administering it, then it would soon be sorted. Of course these incidents don’t tell you they are about to happen so you just have to live with them when they happen. Hopefully you will get another chance to visit the New Forest soon. In-laws live in Highcliffe so I know how lovely the area is.
And your poor Jessie too. We of course pay whatever it costs for our pets and I’m sure vets know that. We had a cat emergency the other week which lightened my wallet considerably. My little ginger boy is with me now showing plenty of love. Couldn’t get tablets down him of course but he seems his old self now. Fingers crossed everything works out for your Jessie.
Typical you to still be thinking of others when you’re having your own difficulties. All I can say is, whilst rubbish times come along, there are also plenty of good days that come along too. Hopefully today is a much better day for you and a good day for all SPCers.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 53 -
Oh Sue-UU I hope you are feeling a little better today ❤ my late FIL suffered from waking seizures for years its a nasty thing.
A little copper and one shiny silver coin in the tin today.
Thankfully self isolation is over now and both DH and I are feeling much better and the dog has stopped drawing us dirty looks 😂
Hope everyone has a good weekend 😊Debt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

Oh my poor dear Sue. What a truly horrible experience for you both. I tried to reply yesterday but my tablet was playing up and I couldn't type a reply. Poor Jessie too, it never rains but it pours does it. I hope you are feeling much better today, Sue, and get another crack at your day out soon.
Worrying times for you too Lucy. Hope everyone is ok now.
No potting to report here at Sweetie Towers but the good news is (I think!) that we finally exchanged contracts on our move at 4.30pm on Friday and, if we can sort out paying the solicitor tomorrow at the local branch of our bank, then we will be moving on Tuesday 21st. The bad news is that I've had an IBS flare up due to stress. The pain has been debilitating and at the moment all I can manage to eat is a banana at breakfast and a bowl of porridge for lunch plus lots of water. Thank you for your tips for sleeping, sue, I must admit your advice is sound and falling asleep to the sound of heavy rain from yoootoob has helped. I had a really sound night last night and didn't wake until 8.10am. Hoping the Buscopan kicks in soon!
Once we move we'll have no internet for a few days but then I will know how much money we have left and perhaps pot a little more before the big day!
In the meantime sending love and virtual hugs to all our potters ( I hope Mrs Antomac doesn't mind but I am 71 and so it doesn't count)
Stay well everyone xSealed Pot Challenge #012

Bless you dear Ant , Scotmumof3 and A, little_sweetie for your very kind words.I've had a weekend where I've been absolutely shattered, just taking 2 of the new tablets!! DH phoned the Dr to say I certainly won't be taking anymore. The Tegretol & Clobazam (a controlled drug) I've taken for years both make me terribly tired as it is without anything else adding to the affect. I'm shattered by midday each day and need to have a kip for half an hour in the afternoon to get through the day.As you say Ant, if the Consultant who prescribed them had to take them then dishing them out to others might be thought through a lot more carefully. We'd gladly pay the money asked for by the Vet DH spoke to in the second instance, but feel she was a bit iffy given all the first one had told him; he has another appointment with her next week. We've spoken to a fair few friends in the village while walking Jessie over the last couple of days and they mostly advise not to go through with the operation, saying they went against the advice of the Vet and most had a good 3 or more years with their dear pals, others had similar stories. Given Jessie being 11 we think we'll do the same but see how she goes in between. So your In-laws live in Highcliffe, Ant, really beautiful, lovely for them for sure. I spent many hours there and Mudeford with the lady who brought me up, her DD too.I'm really pleased your ginger boy is doing well, it's awful when they're ill in any way. You're right in that good days outweigh the bad, long may that be the case for us ALL.So your poor FIL had waking seizures too, scotmumof3, my heart goes out to all those who have suffered from this type, truly it does. Sometimes it feels as though it's only you, but it makes it a little easier knowing you're not, even though, as I said on Friday, I really wouldn't wish them on anyone!I'm so pleased you're both recovering now, your dear dog too!Little_sweetie I'm so delighted for you and G, wonderful news!! No doubt you'll have far more peace of mind when it's the 22nd and your settling in to your peaceful new home!Little wonder at the flare up of your IBS with the stress you've been under, once you can start to relax and feel more content again I sincerely hope it soon settles down for you.I was really delighted to hear the rain from YT gave you a sound night's sleep, a few more of those and you'll be feeling so much calmer and you'll get your immune system back in order (as stress always upsets it), vital for us all. All very best wishes for your move tomorrow to go well, A, love to you and G.Love, Sue xxxHave a good Monday everyone, a good week too.Have a good Monday and a lovely week, folks! My goodness Sue_UU you've had a shocking time of it recently, I really hope the doctors pull their fingers out and get you sorted asap. I'm sure that between you and your DH you've had quite enough of doctors! We all want the best for our pets and I agree about not putting Jessie through an operation, it's such a risk. I think as long as they are pain free, happy and able to get about, we should let nature take its course.
Congratulations Little_sweetie, I hope the move has gone ahead today and you are now safely tucked up in your new house.
It's all very quiet here at the moment, life is just rambling along. I have decided that as most of my potting has been online this year I would include other amounts that I have saved. DH and I have had four regular savings accounts all come to fruition in the last couple of weeks and I will be adding them with their interest to my total. This week's potting comes to £7.69.
Have a great week Potters, stay safe xx

Ooh Little_sweetie what great news that things have finally happened with your move. Your new home will be so much nicer and you’ll be so much happier with all that stress out of the way. That really is wonderful news. We look forward to confirmation that all has gone well once you are able to get back online. Mrs Antomac is fine by the way. Even in the real world we can’t do actual hugs. Met my cousin the other day and we settled for elbow bumps even though we’re both double jabbed.

A very good morning SPCers! I hope everyone's had a good week. 😄 Whatever you're doing have a lovely weekend. For all those not feeling so well or are a little low, please take care, and I really hope you're soon back with us. For now, here are some hugs and look after yourselves ❤️Oh bless you dear Siju. For DH there was a big swing re his back which is terrible right now. A call from a Practice Nurse who really was marvelous soon helped him with painkillers, giving him the correct dosage of Morphine Sulphate which is 4 times the strength per day the Dr prescribed and already but doesn't yet appear to be any better!! Also Omeprazole before Naproxen twice a day, the former to protect his stomach; the Naproxen don't seem to have done him any good at all either, so he has to phone again on Monday, and if necessary they move on to a different drug. What a difference from the way the Dr treated him, DH told her so too!! 😃I've been waiting to hear from you re Jessie, Siju, and your words go alongside all the others the friends/villagers advised, all concerned the op could do her more harm than good. It would be different if she was younger, but at 11 it's unfair, plus there are no guarantees.Good for you in adding all you and DH have saved, I'll be doing the same.So very many thanks Siju. xxGood for you Ant!!Have a LOVELY WEEKEND, folks! Your poor husband Sue His pain seems near constant.
I had Omeprazole/Naproxen when I had a ruptured Baker’s Cyst in my knee and it worked for me. It did take some time to build up but it definitely worked, so it might be that he’s not been on it long? I am of course no medical expert. I hope something can be sorted for him soon.Potted some more travel savings and looking forward to the count up which isn’t that far away now, and an ‘all expenses paid’ short break in December with the proceeds.
