You certainly have your fair share of ups and downs Sue
Proof aplenty that th8s virus is still around. I trust your family members are on the mend now, and noone has contracted it.
I just picked up and potted 5p roadkill. Just over 3 weeks to go now. Not long at all.

Soooo I had a rather embarrassing moment last week, things were tasting and smelling weird for the last two weeks, in particular my bread was making my stomach turn so I wrote to them wanting to know why they had changed the recipe as it was horrible!
Umm . . yeah . . turns out it's me  :D I haven't been able to taste anything but salt and tomato for nearly 3 weeks, everything smells and tastes like a dumpster.
I have never had Covid to the best of my knowledge and all PCR tests have come back negative, but it seems this is a sign of long covid and some people who have got it have also had negative PCR tests! :astonished:
So now I don't know if I have had Covid and had a false negative, or if it's something else entirely, I haven't felt overly unwell in any way so who knows!
In good news, I found £1 roadkill! it was by our rear tyre at Mr T when we parked up, I spotted it when I got my bags out of the boot!
Still potting away! looking forward to pot opening day!

Thank you for your congratulations :) our little GD is absolutely perfect, like a little doll  o:)

So sorry to hear that Covid has spread through the family Sue-UU, it's a familiar story at the moment  :'(  I hope everyone is on the road to recovery now.

It certainly sounds like you've had the virus jakes-mum and although it must be horrible not tasting food properly, at least you haven't been laid low like others.  I really hope your taste buds recover soon.  The main symptoms seem to have changed now that many of us have been vaccinated but the government haven't updated their public information.  This is a good source of information if anyone is interested:- https://covid.joinzoe.com/post/new-top-5-covid-symptoms

I went for a 4D scan with my DD on the weekend and it was very special, the baby even smiled at us!  The technology is absolutely amazing now.  Just £5.86 in my pot this week.  Keep warm and dry folks :)

Evening SPCers! I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend too, three days of the week too. Have a good week.

For all those not feeling so good or are a little low, please take care, and I really hope you're soon back with us.  For now, here are some hugs and look after yourselves ❤️

Ups and downs aplenty for sure, Ant,  our DD, SIL have all caught it from their younger DS, no doubt when they're all in the same household. Plus our DGGS is very poorly indeed, along with his dear mum, but still not his DDad! Our younger DGD, his mum, so that's 5 that have it all together!
A lack of vaccinations I'm sure for the younger ones, they've both been ill for well over a week!

Well done with the 5p roadkill Ant!!
Yes, Declaration Day is getting very close now!

Oh dear Jake's-mum! I've not heard of anyone having a lack of taste and smell but not having had Covid, although DD & I always lose ours whenever we have a cold, but who knows, time will tell which our DGD's partner who's remained free from the virus, we'll soon see as he loves his food.
Try opening a jar of coffee and see if you can smell it, that's supposed to be an indication of whether the taste/smell is due to Covid. PCR is supposed to be definite whether its positive or negative, not so the lateral flow tests! All 5 of our family members tested negative when they were positive with the PCR testing! The best way to check is to have a test to see if you have antibodies in you!

Well done with the £1 roadkill!?

Hi Siju, bless your darling little granddaughter, she sounds just gorgeous! 😍
I agree about the Covid, I suppose a lot of it is via school kiddies like our DGS being the 1st one to start the ball rolling, also the time of year! I do worry about our DGGS at the moment, he looks and sounds terrible after over a week.

Aha, you and I obviously have been one of the many signing in each day on the Professor Tim Spectre Covid Tracker! The ideal way to check just how many folk in the country have Covid, it only takes seconds each day to check how we're all doing and thus keep track of how the country are doing.
Please dear Potters: do go to Siju's link and join us all in helping the nation keep tracking Covid, our general health too. Very many thanks indeed.

Oh bless your darling unborn grandchild! Fancy seeing it in 4D!! 😳 I can't imagine that at all, what a little treasure in smiling at you, I bet you'll cherish that part. 😍

Not just £5.86 potted Siju as it's still great that you've done so!!

Thank you so very much indeed, scotmumof3, some are recovering, sadly the little ones aren't, especially the 12 month old little sweetheart. Hopefully, he will be very soon.

DH is to have the MRI for his lower spine next Tuesday!! We're both so very pleased. On Monday it was terrible with absolutely no let up, even when he sat to rest.
Also, after almost 2 years without a proper Dentist we had a phone call yesterday asking if we'd like appointments on Thursday!! 😳 After 3 Dentists having left, another has obviously joined the practice and after being No 146 for months we now have appointments!! ☺️☺️

Have a good WEDNESDAY, folks Please keep VERY safe and healthy!!

    Sue xx

Potted £5.60 but expect to be sadly below my over ambitious target of £300.  If I can get to near last year’s result (215) I’ll be more than happy.  So sorry to hear of all the illness but exceptionally pleased  to hear of the births 😃. Just been to have my (less than gentle) flu jab so my arm is sore and I’m really for my bed.  I have done a bit of Christmas shopping already and have made a list of a few bits to get my boy and me; you see Santa still brings mummy presents in this house 😂. He actually hasn’t asked for anything from Santa yet so I’d best start probing; I want to get all my shopping done!

  • hi everyone . Have continued with virtual pots! @Sue-UU can you remind me when we add up our actual cash pots? Mainly card spending from me but will empty my purse tomorrow of any change. Dgd 2 had allergic reaction today to new cereal so that was scary (7 months old) most of day at A & E! But all ok at end of the day! Had my 2 day PCR after holiday which was negative 😀so all good here

  • So sorry to hear that your family have succumbed to the virus Sue, it's horrible seeing little ones suffer.  I hope they all feel better very soon. jakes-mum, it certainly sounds like you had the virus at some point.  It just shows that the lateral flow tests are not infallible.  G and I keep doing them twice a week but I know that my brother had 2 negative flow results before a PCR showed positive and only then did the flow test pick it up.  I'm sure that continued mask wearing will help stem the spread so G and I both still do wear them in shops (not that we visit many!) and are careful about hand sanitizing when out and about.  Having said that, we have begun using a little cash now that we are shopping local in the village bakery, for example, so I have been potting a little change.
Since the move 2 weeks ago our financial planning has been totally up the creek  but I have succeeded in not touching the virtual sealed pot to buy things for the bungalow.  Light fittings will have to wait! ;)  So at least there will be some money for Christmas (sorry if you don't like the word mentioned yet!)

welsh I hope your DGD2 is ok now.  How terribly scary for you all...

Sending good luck thoughts to T for his MRI next week. Let's hope they can get to the bottom of the problem and get it sorted.  Not before time...

    Take care everyone x
