A very Good Afternoon SPCers!  I hope you've all enjoyed a good week. Have a really lovely weekend.

For all those not feeling poorly or perhaps a little low, please take care, and I really hope you're soon back with us.  For now, here are some hugs and look after yourselves ❤️ 🫂

It's lovely to see you back on, gonnabedebtfree! It's good to hear you've been potting when possible, keep it up if possible for the next couple of weeks. See you soon on Declaration Day!

Whatever you've managed to save MrsShazbat, at least you have saved rather than spent! I know the expenditure on the car annoys you a lot, but thank goodness you had it to rely on at a time when it was most needed! Don't forget to include it in your Total along with your Eb!y sales!!

It's great to be in credit with the bank at a time you thought you wouldn't be!!
What a really appreciative firm you both work for, an excellent bonus for you! 🤗
    Look after yourselves

Hello there 32b3! So good to hear from you again. Sorry to hear about your holiday postponement, but at least you've still got it to look forward to.

I'm sure we say the same every year about the year having gone so fast, but I guess it's the same for any single event you're looking ahead to - even more so when it's savings involved!! 😉
    Have a wonderful time away!

DON'T FORGET, folks, BE PREPARED WITH ANY BAGS YOU NEED READY FOR THE 28th!

It's lovely to see you again Buffy
It's a lovely feeling when you have a good old declutter and get rid of things you really don't need anymore.
Well done with the money potted and see you on the 28th!!

It's so very good to see you again too, Ant, and to know that things are so much better. I can so emphasise with your poor lass, but so often it's so much easier for loved ones, anyone else for that matter, to talk it all out to someone they haven't any real connections with. I'm so pleased things are easier for you all. 🙂

You ramble on to us whenever you need to Ant, and I'd certainly encourage the same from all our other family members, after all, I've done my share in the past!!
Yes, not long at all now until the big day, keep looking ahead Ant. Love and best wishes to you all, with a hug too 🫂

Have a very good week, everyone, despite the weather! Take care & KEEP HEALTHY!!

    Sue xx

  • It's must be so very hard when your daughter is so distressed, no wonder you weren't sleeping well.  I worry about my 2 kids now and my older one will be 49 this Christmas.  And don't even mention worrying about Grandchildren! You are there for her and that is all that matters.  Have another ((hug)) Ant.

We're motoring towards pot opening now.  Keep at it everyone!

Oh Ant you deserve every single one of those hugs, have another one from me HUG.  You keep us all going on occasion when we are struggling with your kind words so it is fully deserved.  I had some difficulties in my life several years ago and you just don’t see it coming until it’s “there” and overwhelming you.  I now have the skills to recognise it approaching and take evasive action and have not succumbed since and I’m sure the same will be true for your daughter.  I think these last 18 months have been incredibly hard on us all in many different ways and we all just need to find the best coping mechanism for our individual situation.  I did find getting outside, even just the garden helped immensely.  I was normally sat sobbing into my coffee but it provided a release; Mother Nature is the greatest healer.  Have another hug.  In potting news I’ve added about £3 to the tin which feels quite heavy.  On holiday on Friday with my boy as it’s a teacher training day.  The car is booked in for its MOT so while we wait we are going for a hot chocolate so I’m hoping to receive some change for the pot and a final push.

So pleased to hear things have improved a little AntoMac with your daughter.  The teenage years are so often difficult to deal with and although she may not want it at the moment, you just have to be there for her when she's ready.  We had a number of troubled years with our daughter from 13 to 16/17 but she did come through it and thankfully I now have my daughter back.  I had to keep telling myself that my little girl was still in there and keep believing in her.  Now, at 29 she's happily married and expecting her first baby on Boxing Day. Any time you want to ramble, there's always someone here happy to listen.

I agree with you about nature Hettyhound it is a great healer and I always try to get outside once a day, even when the weather is horrid.  It's easy to skip it now I haven't got the dog to walk, but I have to force myself.  We went to the garden centre on Sunday and bought some tulips and crocus for the garden then spent the afternoon planting them.  Really enjoyed myself and will look forward to seeing them emerge in the spring.  I also love Tête à Tête daffs Sue-UU and we have them planted in the garden too.

£7.78 in the pot today. Enjoy your week Potters, try to go dancing in the rain!  <3

You never stop worrying about your children or theirs do you, little_sweetie, it's built in no matter what their ages. My eldest is 49 in February, where did it go! Some lovely words. Love to you both.

Very true re Mother Nature, Hetty, there's nothing quite like it for helping us sort out and get through problems.
Well done for getting to know how to get through your problems these days, for spotting them before they start too!

Fingers crossed for the MOT!! Still, if anything needs doing it'll be for your safety! 🙂

We too had hard times, Siju, but ours were with our DS, he came through it in the end but is still a very volatile lad at times even towards his wife! I know at times we all get problems with our offspring, but at the time it seems as though it's you alone.

I'm pleased you enjoyed your nursery visit, it doesn't take much at times, but I agree DH & I try to get out for a walk daily no matter what the weather. I'll be thinking of your Tête à Têtes when ours come through, darling little Daffs.
A lovely sum to have potted!

An xcellent amount in your pot Money_Choices!

£20 transferred to the SPC account, no doubt the last for this potting year but we're happy. 🙂

Have a very good Wednesday, Thursday too, everyone! Take care & KEEP HEALTHY!!

Thank you little-sweetie and Sue. I can very much relate to always worrying with the way my Mum is towards me. She’s always telling me I need to wear a coat and to drive very carefully wherever I go. If ever I’ve been away she always says she’s so relived I’m home safely. I swear she sometimes thinks I’m still a small child…… and I love it! It’s very sweet that she still thinks that way.
What upsets me is when she says she worries that she’s becoming a nuisance as she needs a lot of care now. My answer to that is. “Would you think your Mum and Dad were a nuisance if you could have them back?” Of course she would have them back like a shot. I would never say my Gramp was a nuisance but I do know he could be quite hard work!
Hetty you are very much right. It’s about trying to find coping mechanisms. There is so much to appreciate in nature. A walk out just listening to the birds and looking around at some of the amazing natural beauty that we often miss can work wonders.
Thank you everyone for your kindness.
We are only a week away now.  I really really want to count up NOW but that would be cheating  :)
Ive got a load of money bags as the Bank gave me a massive bundle last year, so looking forward to putting them to use at the end of next week.
I have added some more travel savings. Will probably add one more lot next week before opening.
    Take care everyone

Thank you for your kind words too Siju. It’s reassuring to know that so many people go through these difficulties. I know tough times don’t last for ever and we have to have some tough times to help us remember to be grateful for the good/normal times.I know some people who have overcome some horrendous things in their lives. Human resilience amazes me at times.

So the MOT was cancelled as their emissions testing equipment for petrol engines had broken so that’s now rebooked for 2nd November.  Still had to take my boy for hot chocolate and cake and then we did the food shop.  The remaining change from that came to £12.42 so that’s in my tin.  I still have £5 change in my purse and as opening day is the day before payday, any that’s left will be deposited too 😃
