  • Hello hello everyone!
I joined thus challenge last year - and I'm not sure I've been back on! My laptop broke and I am not very good with technology so although I tried to access the forum on my phone, my mind was boggled!
I now, as of this evening, have a new (to me) laptop thanks to a relative upgrading, so I'm back online - and just in time for declaration day! After setting it up, the first thing I was desperate to do was come on and check when declaration day was and have a catch up on the thread (which I shall do with a cuppa in a minute!)
I'm praying it's a good one as I held off opening the tins to buy a new laptop as I was desperate for a good outcome this year! 🤞
Hopefully will be more involved next year, but just grateful and glad to be back online right now!
Hope everyone is doing well and has a good outcome. Although I held off opening the tins fora laptop/to go towards one, I equally haven't been in many shops this year and haven't used much cash- so swings and roundabouts mean that it may still be lower than I'm hoping! Only time will tell!
    🤞

Welcome back Franlow1 - I think most of us can relate to problems with technology. Hopefully your current laptop is perfectly adequate and lets you use your pot money for something else.
Just 2 days to go now. I think we all had issues with handling less cash. I personally have mixed cash  and electronic savings this year but still have a very heavy pot to open. Anyway, well done for not using your pot on a laptop and here’s to a decent total on opening day.
Making my last travel saving pot today.
    Have a good day everyone

A very Happy Tuesday Potters Have a good day.

If any of you are feeling poorly or perhaps low in spirits, please take care, and get well soon with us.  For now, here are love and hugs to help look after yourselves ❤️ 🫂

Oh doesn't it get on your pip, Ant, whatever your pip is! 😏 At least you clearly know what it's like and the frustration it causes. It used to happen a lot, not so much now thankfully, unless.... it's at the beginning of Declaration week..! 🙄
Glad to hear you're all ready for Thursday, me too! 🤩

Hello again franlow01, it's great to see you again! 😃 I know you used to come on when you were able, though I also recall you having limited internet access, due to bonnie Scotland if memory serves me correctly.
Sorry to hear about your laptop, but do keep persevering with your mobile as, for me it's relatively easy: Pop moneysavingexpert in your browser, once in, look around the top for Forum, then look for the Challenges board and look out for Sealed Pot Challenge ~ 14 (15 from Friday on :o ).  Also to make it easier in future, look for the 3 dots on the top right, click on them then click on the 'Add to home' then 'Add to home screen' then have a look for your very own app! Just remember when we move to another page to bin your current app and go from the 3 dot place above and you'll have a new app! 😄

After writing all the above I then read about your 'new' laptop! 🙄 Ah well it may come in handy for other members. It's perfect for me as I'm able to write a lot faster on the mobile with predictive text. 😃

Whatever you've managed to save, be very happy and extremely proud of, that's what matters most. I found cash a problem since ..... Covid 😡 and am able to save via the bank which anyone's able to do due to current circumstances. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday and when time allows.

DON'T FORGET, folks, BE PREPARED WITH ANY BAGS YOU NEED READY FOR THIS THURSDAY!

Well done with your final saving ready for Thursday, Ant!!

Keep safe and do STAY HEALTHY!!

    Sue xx

Last potting of the year :open_mouth: can't believe it's that time already.  Another £5.04 in the pot.  Hope everyone is as excited as I am for opening day on Thursday  :#

Had a lovely weekend looking after my DD's menagerie.....four cats, two dogs, six chickens and a foster cat with 3 kittens!!!!!   On Sunday the family all got together and I cooked them Sunday lunch.  Absolutely fantastic to spend time together and of course, I got lots of cuddles with my DGD.  Unfortunately, my DS phoned today to say she has been unwell overnight and they think she has a urine infection.  Mum and baby are in the hospital at the moment and poor DS is not allowed in.....we all feel so helpless at a time like this.  I know she's in the best place and hopefully it is just an infection and she will be home very soon but, as was mentioned in an earlier post, you never stop worrying.

Take care Potters, see you on Declaration Day  :)

Well, I'm most certainly as excited as you, Siju! , and it's amazing just how quickly this year has passed, and I'll bet the following year will fly by just as swiftly as possible! 🙄
Well done with your last potting of the year.

Crikey your DD most definitely has a menagerie! 😯 I take it you do go to her home to care for them!
After such a wonderful Sunday with the family how sad about your DGD and the fact that your DS is unable to visit them, that's the really sad thing that's come about due to this blessed pandemic! 😢 At least mum and daughter are able to be together and thank goodness for mobile phones. I do so hope your poor little darling soon recovers and they're able to go home to her daddy. ☺️
Indeed we never stop worrying, it's the inbuilt love that comes with our treasures and theirs.
You also take care Siju and look forward to them coming home. 🏡
See you on Thursday and take care. 😊 x

Keep safe and do STAY HEALTHY!!

Does anyone else feel like it’s Christmas Eve? 🎅 Here’s hoping my pot will be enough to get a few presents for my boy, not that Santa’s request has been made yet 😬. Doesn’t he know mummy likes to shop early 🤣

  • Good morning everyone!  Thank you for asking dear Sue, yes, we are settling in nicely to our new bungalow.  We have bare bulbs in some rooms and a garden with very little but grass and a few pots  :#  but it can all wait. We have some snagging issues still to be sorted but this is par for the course with a new build isn't it,  and B*vis customer service is less than responsive  :|  G is still in pain every day but is much happier now.  We have met several of the new neighbours and they seem lovely; not 'in your face' but they wave if we are outside and we can exchange a few pleasantries  :)  Sending our love to you and T x

Exciting now isn't it!  I know my SPC total will be small this year but I suspect I won't be the only one.  As Ant says, we  have all struggled with the lack of cash over the last year as well as simply not going out to spend.  It won't be long now.  Hang on in there!
