Hi everyone. I hope everybody is doing ok. Sending hugs and good wishes to all who need them.
Only potted £1.07 this week so far. I am finding it difficult to get my hands on cash when everywhere wants you to pay with cards. Clean out of an old handbag produced 50p though so that was worth it haha  :D<3
Debt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

No potting to report but I have started (shush) my Christmas shopping today 😱. I had a rare 30 minutes without my son as a friend took him to the park so I nipped into the works and got 6 David Walliams books for £12 and a Harry Potter board game for 9!  They are currently hidden in the boot of the car 🤫

  • Evening all.  After a second trip to the hospital GP Centre in the early hours of Wednesday morning (1am this time!) hubby was diagnosed with impetigo.  Fortunately, he was already on antibiotics when we didn't know what it was so he was way past being contagious - and I had washed all our towels and bedding since he started with it so didn't have to do it again.  He'd already been given more antibiotics by our GP, but I wasn't happy with how his skin looked.  Hence ringing 111 again.  He's fine in himself, but his supervisor has told him to stay off until he's completely healed so he's now signed off for another week.

I got my car sorted out, and I've spent much of the week in the garden.  Although on Wednesday after not getting back into bed till 3am, I didn't get up till 11am and then went over to see a friend and walk the dog with her for a change of scenery.  Of course the September 'heatwave' is going to happen now I'm back at work, and on what is meant to be the hottest day I will actually be at the office!  :(  Our manager has arranged an in-person team meeting to start the year, but it makes more sense to go in for the day rather than just the hour.

Have a good week all x

A very good evening Potters! I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend with some beautiful days to enjoy!

For all those not feeling so well or are a little low, please take care, and I really hope you're soon back with us. For now, hugs and kisses and look after yourselves ❤️

Hi scotmumof3, thanks so much for the hugs and good wishes, I hope little_sweetie sees this as she's in real need at the moment.
So, who was the old bag you robbed?!! 😯 I was shocked!
Sorry, couldn't resist that now could I. 🤣
I quite agree with so many places not accepting cash, though having said that it's all getting worse again, and with the kiddies going back to school! 😳 Get a mask ready for when yours come home! 😷 Good savings none the less, owt's better than nowt.

Hi Hetty, and very well done with your C shopping, not bad at all given the price. By the way, we've got a Red Setter in our village who is also called Hetty.

Hi MrsShazbat, thank goodness your hubby's ailment was Impetigo, not very nice at all with the scratching (our younger grandson had it a few years ago), but a lot better than some ailments for sure. I hope he's soon very much better.

I'm so glad the car has been done, our MOT was done today and everthing was fine, not even any advisories!
Well, at least you had some fresh air while seeing your friend and walking the dog. A shame about being at work on the best day weather wise, but at least it'll stop you getting sunburned! 😄

Have a relaxing evening and a lovely Monday to follow, folks, and keep SAFE

    Sue xx

Afternoon Potters, sending cooling hugs to everyone, it is rather hot here! It's not going to last but it has been nice to have a short return to summer.

Had an eventful week looking after DD's two puppies, they certainly keep us on our toes.  They are here until the weekend and I will miss them when they go home :(  Otherwise, life is very quiet and we seem to have become hermits again!  Another £5.80 in the pot.

Have a lovely week, enjoy the sun while it lasts and stay safe

Sue-UU when I was little our neighbour had a red setter called Heidi and now my current neighbour has a dachshund called Heidi!  Hetty is actually the name of my greyhound.  She’s 12 now but when I got her at 2 she didn’t have a name 😢. I thought she deserved a pretty girly name; I’m actually called Caroline and was named after my grandma who was Harriet Caroline but everyone called her Hetty so that’s where Hetty came from.

Hello all SPCers! I hope you've all enjoyed the glorious days while they lasted! It's quite sunny here after the hour of rain, I expected a lot more than that, maybe there's more to come.

For all those not feeling so well or are a little low, please take care, and I really hope you're soon back with us. For now, here are some hugs and look after yourselves ❤️

Yes, not a lengthy spell of heat at all, Siju, but enough to either get things done, or enough to relax in the sun. The rain started about an hour ago, at least 12 hours late but at least the first Jessie walk of the day was in the dry!
I hope it'll be a good while before our Jessie goes, but we've already agreed we won't be having any more. I'm so pleased you're enjoying the pleasure of your DD's little terrors.
Near neighbours of ours have recently bought a Cockerpoo, what a little terror he is too, I'd almost forgotten what the teeth and claws are like at that age! 😩
Have a good week and very good potting!

How sad that your poor Hetty hadn't already got a name by 2 years of age, Hetty!! 😟 I remembered that she was a Greyhound, but it was so lovely to hear the tale of how the name came about. 😀

Another £20 transferred. I'll miss all that counting up on the 27th, but I do have a little at least. I think I'll keep on transferring it next year as there are still several places here that don't accept cash.

Take care all and enjoy the rest of the week.

Enjoy a relaxing evening and a lovely Thursday to follow, folks, and keep SAFE

    Sue xx

Hetty loves lovely HettySheer contentment in that top picture. Pets give us a whole world of joy don’t they!
Going back to your electronic potting Sue. I too have had to do quite a bit of electronic potting with the way the world changed.  I’ve also got a very heavy pot full of coins and a mint tin partially full of coins, so it won’t all be in cash for me either. I guess it does reduce the banking of coins faff to a degree but definitely slightly less fun.
I’ve potted a bit of travel savings (as usual) and am also potting a few quid I’ve made from cashback extras, a facility on Lloyds/Halifax accounts that gives you money back if you use your debit card for certain purchases. Don’t know if anyone else uses that or has heard of that, or if other banks do a similar thing?
    Hope everyone is doing OK
