Morning all. Bit the bullet and opened my tin as I couldn't get any more in it.  Total inside was £160.17 in it, so will put that in my signature. Have decided not to buy another sealed tin as the challenge only has a few months left, and so will get a big one in January. Instead I have used an old pot of nutritional yeast, put a hole in the lid and sealed the top down with cellotape (Christmas themed as thats all I had). That will last the next few months until the end of the challenge.

  • Hi
I can't remember how much savings I reported potted but now I have potted £2.71. This was a mixture from weekly rounding up my purse to £1.00 and some money I found in the bottom of a bag whilst decluttering.

I put £4.70 in my pot...I am not very good at this challenge! I am so focused on the debt, it sort of takes priority and I rarely use cash to have loose change.

    Stocks and shares ISA: £1497

Hi Potters!! and what a glorious day!! :o

To all those who might not be feeling so well or are a little low, please take care, and I really hope you're soon back with us. For now, look after yourselves ❤️

You're most welcome, scotmumof3, and very well done with the potting! 😀

At last jakes-mum, but you're forgiven being as you've been on holiday. You were very fortunate being able to pay for DD's test and results, an absolute necessity obviously!
I'm so pleased your hotel accommodation was finally successful, though originally a bit sparse to say the least!!
I hope you also had a wonderful time in Wales, so very beautiful there.
Very well done with the potting, keep it up as it won't be long til it's October! 🤗

Five weeks waiting and for what, Hetty?!! I'm glad you at least got a fortnight's break, even if you kept busy through it, it possibly did you good.

A fat lot of good it does to be in touch with your Dr, the Dentists aren't any better, in fact 2 of ours have jumped ship and a 3rd is almost touching the water!!! 😡 A fat lot of use they were to a 5 Dentist practice!
    Take care of yourself.

Wow Dragon Lily, you've done brilliantly!! 😯 Keep on rolling and see if you can amount some more! 😉

Excellent potting Dolly94!! 🤗 Thanks for putting it on your signature.... and still adding to it for DDay!
I don't blame you at all for making use of the nutritional yeast pot, money saved after all!! 😀
If you can re-use your original pot for next year too, then pot the money you would have spent on it instead!

Brilliant potting Money_Choices! 😃 That's the way to pot and not waste it instead! 🤔

Don't worry DrCarrie, it'll do you far more good to pay off money on your debt, but keep a note of how much that is/was and you can still Declare it as savings! ☺️
I know Martin always says it's better to pay off debts first!!
You see... you are good at the challenge, we all use it for various things and you'd be surprised at how many say they'll use what they save to throw at their debt!! Keep up the great work. 🤗

Enjoy your Wednesday, Thursday too folks, and keep right on potting when you're able!  p

Potted some more travel savings. Same old same old - little and often. Hoping for a decent total in a couple of months.
Keep well everyone. Nice long Bank Holiday weekend to look forward to

@hickles69 that’s an eye watering amount to need to find. A god thing about the Sealed Pot Challenge is that it can double up as a n emergency fund so hopefully it’s softened the blow a little.
@Doily94 well done on nearly filling your pot. I’m onto a mint tin now after filling my pot. It should see me through to opening day. The good thing about this challenge is it’s not a competition so we can all encourage each other.
Yep then I found out there’s no washing machine and the property is badly damaged.  My landlady sent her husband round and is replacing the kitchen and windows and doors.  Thankfully my mil gave us the money for a washing machine.  I love me sealed pot (although my children like my change a little too much so fills up a bit slower).  They have their own pot and emptied theirs for holiday treats

Great words Ant, and absolutely spot on in every way! 🤗 A mint tin Ant?! 🤔 Well done in reassuring folk that SPC isn't competitive! 😉

Excellent news about having found another house, Hicksy, brilliant!! 😀 A shame about your pot, but we've always been able to use it for emergencies and I can quite see the need for it in your case, a heck of an amount though. 😯 All the very best in moving, daunting I know, but it may well be just the thing for you all! xx

It's good to see you, Dolly! So pleased your doing well with your saving, if you read the beginning of my 1st post you'll see that due to Covid 🙄 we're also able to use money from the bank if that helps. Good luck and well done either way!

Lovely to see evidence of you having been on, mummytummy, I sincerely hope you and the family are free from this blasted virus! >:)

Have a BRILLIANT WEEKEND (a bit late for that, but..) folks, and keep right on potting when you're able!

Thankfully I have dual tenancy as we are downsizing due to the shortage so lots of things to sell / give away so hoping to get the pot going very soon.  Day 7 of moving with 5 left to go.  Thank you.  I hope you are well

    Helloooooooo again potters!
Well the Covid has finally caught up with this house :disappointed: DH tested positive on Thursday, DD, and I both tested negative, just waiting on DS's result.
We are pretty sure he caught it from DD's friend who came to stay the night last weekend, who in turn had caught it from his step brother when he came to visit his dad a few days before that, and due to DH being on immune suppressing meds, he caught it but not the rest of us.
So yes, we are dealing with that right now!
In potting news, I don't have any! no pennies for the pot :disappointed:
