Oh bless your dear FIL, Siju, he's certainly having a few problems, bless him. I'm so glad it was nothing more than bruising this time, it's surprising how falls can shake you. Does that paving slab need fixing by your DH before it's possibly tripped over again?! 

It's surprising just how much a bad knee can affect your hip and vice versa so has he any hip problems you're aware of? He'll certainly need bubble wrapping or very similar care after he's had his knee replaced, quite seriously.

Of course he could easily have fallen off of the bed due to his knee. For now, if needed he could have bed rails (or whatever the proper name is), I need them to stop falling out during seizures and bought a lovely half length one which otherwise enables me get out without any trouble, it might even aid your FIL as he gets in and out. We bought mine from the Stroke Association, it gives DH & I a great peace of mind. Ask the Dr his thoughts IF you can pin him down for long enough! 🥱

Thanks so much for your well wishes, I'm fine again now thanks. I always listen to my nurse and do exactly as he says. 🤣😂 He's an absolute treasure though, bless him.

It’s the end of the week and time to pot some more travel savings.
Uneventful yes, but a good habit to have got into and it all adds up.

Long story short our landlady is letting us leave early (she sold up) due to a housing shortage so we have found somewhere 2 weeks ago and move today.  Sadly had to find £2200 deposit etc very quickly so my pot has been opened up again to put minimum costs on the credit card.  Will update signature later.

Haven't posted in ages but its great to keep seeing everyone is keeping potting. I still am trying to use cash as much as possible and it does seem to be getting a bit easier just lately. Have been potting away slowly but surely, and my little pot is close to being full so I might have to open it early and start again in September. I am definitely going to get a bigger pot next year.

@hickles69 that’s an eye watering amount to need to find. A god thing about the Sealed Pot Challenge is that it can double up as a n emergency fund so hopefully it’s softened the blow a little.
@Doily94 well done on nearly filling your pot. I’m onto a mint tin now after filling my pot. It should see me through to opening day. The good thing about this challenge is it’s not a competition so we can all encourage each other.

Excellent news about having found another house, Hicksy, brilliant!! 😀 A shame about your pot, but we've always been able to use it for emergencies and I can quite see the need for it in your case, a heck of an amount though. 😯 All the very best in moving, daunting I know, but it may well be just the thing for you all! xx

It's good to see you, Dolly! So pleased your doing well with your saving, if you read the beginning of my 1st post you'll see that due to Covid 🙄 we're also able to use money from the bank if that helps. Good luck and well done either way!

Goood Morning Pottersssssssssssssssssss

Well we have managed a holiday in lanzarote for 9 days AND a staycation in the campervan for a week in Wales during this school holidays
The whole testing thing was a bit of a headache, especially as DD needed the pre flight test which did not comeback in time for our flight! But as if I was some sort of psychic I decided to take her the night before to the airport to get one of those 4 hr tests as well, was £90 but saved us a lost holiday!
Anyone thinking of going to Europe for a holiday (all inclusive) I urge you to read reviews of where you want to stay as some of the hotels have cut down the actual food available so much it's unreal, we had to move hotels because ours was so sparse, Lunch offerings were chips , sausages and ham or cheese sandwiches, yes, that sparse (and it was a 4* hotel).
Anyway, once we swapped hotels we had an amazing time, masks were in full force whilst we were there and lots of cleaning going on, we all three came back Covid free so what they were doing worked for us!
Potting, i've been chucking various coinage into the tins, no idea what, but it's still going in   Soon be tin opening day everyone so keep chucking those coins in.

Hello everyone.  After waiting 5 weeks to speak to a doctor apparently I have to get on with it as nothing I can be prescribed.  I therefore asked her to sign me off for 2 weeks which has flown by and I’m back at work tomorrow.  Only in (wfh) 4 days and then on leave until 7th September when the schools go back.  Think I feel a bit better 🤷‍♀️. Felt like I’ve done a lot of stuff (I’m not one for resting) but when I look round the house doesn’t look much different, never mind.  I’ve potted a bit of copper but that’s all.  School holidays are always longer than my pay packet will accommodate but at least new school uniform/shoes have been sorted out.  Hope everyone is well.
