Hello Potters, we've had threats of thunderstorms but had none yet.  It has been lightly raining this morning though, so on the cooler side now.

As far as logging in to MSC is concerned, I haven't had too much trouble.  I use my laptop rather than a phone or ipad though, so maybe that makes a difference.  I bookmark the page when we first start the new challenge and then the next time I log on from the bookmark, it takes me to the last page I read.  It seems to update the bookmark automatically, so I always start where I left off, if that makes any sense!  Don't know if that helps anyone, but thought I'd pass it on.

We had a lovely day on Sunday and took MIL and FIL to see our son's new house.  DD popped in with a cake which had been baked to reveal the gender of her baby.  It was a BLUE cake!  So in September DS will have a baby girl and in December DD will have a baby boy.  A full set :)  I couldn't be happier.

Glad to hear your DH is feeling a bit better Sue, but having to wait all that time for a phone call is totally unacceptable.

Enjoy the cooler weather everyone and keep smiling :)

Yes, Sue,  Hotter do take back any returns although, to be fair, I've bought this type of shoe twice before so am fairly sure of the fit anyway.  It does cost postage to return them unless you can get to one of their shops which will take them off you and process a refund.
Still no rain here sadly.  I have washed my car this morning so it will probably pour down later!
Have a great day everyone x
I find it a real pest that, these days >:) we're unable to write above a quote as were able to in a past MSE life!!

Thanks very much for letting me know little_sweetie, all in all that's not too bad and at least it reassures folk.
Still no rain then! We've had a great deal, especially on Monday evening, it was like stair rods for over 20 minutes!! It felt as though it was in sympathy with our DD and her DH as they were having to have their dear Golden Retriever put down due to tumours on her feet. So very sad as she was only just 10.
Let's hope you and G soon get some good news regarding the bungalow. ☺️

Hi Siju, so barely any rain for you either! Ours really needs to be shared.
I also log in via my laptop and bookmark the page I last commented on and have no problems with it. I've heard other members in the past saying about trouble logging in from iPads and mobiles, there has to be something in it surely.
I'm so glad your in-laws have been able to see your DS's home, it's always so much nicer to be able to almost "see" loved ones when thinking of them. ☺️
What fantastic news about the babies being one of each!! 🤗 Little wonder you're so thrilled!!
What a brilliant and novel way of your DD letting you all know!
Thanks for your kind words Siju, as for the Drs we don't expect too much nowadays, they'd be better off calling it a medical centre as there are only 2 Drs whereas there were always 5 before Covid!
On that note I'll wish you a good day.

    Enjoy your WEDNESDAY folks! 🤩

  • I know what you mean about not being able to quote on this new version, Sue, it makes for frustrated posting!
So sad to hear about your DD's dog, how awful for them all.
At last we have had some rain and this morning it's slow and steady so will be really good for the garden and allotment.  It's so refreshing after all that heat too.
Hope you and T are ok. Sending love x

  • Oh Hetty,  I said to hubby only yesterday that everything is such a struggle now and 3 weeks is totally unacceptable to have to wait for contact from a GP.  I do hope you feel better soon. Sometimes rest is what's needed to let yourself recover.
Well done for holding your ground with the roofer too!

Happy Monday SPCers!! We've just had a clap of thunder and now it's raining, what a blessing that rain is though, so long as it knows when to stop! Have a lovely weekend!  😀

To any of our dear members who are either ill or low in any way whatsoever, please do take great care, and I sincerely hope you'll soon be well and back with us. For now, take very good care of yourselves ❤️

Thank you so very much, little_sweetie, I must admit it hit us all badly living next door. Our dear Labrador is still a bit bemused when she goes to the gate and sniffs through the
I'm so pleased you've finally had some much-needed rain.
When the Dr finally rang T on Friday, the first thing he asked was "what can I do for you?!!" 🙄😳 T said, "you mean you don't know why you're ringing?"!!! 😡
Anyway, in the end he put it down to age!! He's prescribed him liquid morphine and Ibuprofen, so we'll see what happens from here!

Ah there you are, Hetty!  It's so good to see you.
I'm so glad your roof has finally been done, though what a palaver in doing so! It seems as if nobody wants to do anything anymore. 🥺A good job you kept the chap on his toes by the sound of it, or you'd still have been waiting!
I bet it was wonderful having finally had a visit with your aunt and uncle, no wonder you were tired after all that journey!

Little wonder you let expletives fly after the Drs keeping you all that time, Hetty, that's far worse than ours and that's saying something!!! I don't know what it is with Drs these days, but they are all leaving their patients high and dry! It's disgusting the way they're treating everyone (or not)!! 😡 We really can't forgive our Dr for bolting at the beginning of Covid, after just being made head of practice too! Yet, he's now a Locum working part time 10 miles away, we know all this as he lives in our village, he even jogged past DH a couple of months ago saying "you look well T" !!!!! That really makes us all livid!! 😡
You moan as much as you wish Hetty...we don't have a waiting list I promise! 😉

Have a SUPER WEEKEND folks! 🤩

Thank you for allowing the moaning!  I’ve just potted £30.  I think I some how messed up my grocery money and had some cash left in my grocery purse so I’ve potted it.  Honestly don’t think there will be very much in this year but we will see.  Little_sweetie I wholeheartedly agree that everything is a struggle especially with my son’s school and wrap round care/holiday club.  So many rules that are constantly changing I live in a world of confusion which is so tiring; sometimes I just feel there is no brain space left!  I try to write things down as they come to mind but still end up forgetting stuff and drowning in a sea of paper! 🗒

    Hi Everyone

I seemed to have accumulated more coinage in my purse this last week, which isn't easy when most places still want you to pay by card.  So I have managed to put £3.50 in my tin today  :)

I think the bottle over the cane top is to stop you poking yourself in the eye.  It’s really easy to do!
