Hello again Potters! 😊 I hope you're all enjoying Thursday. I really hope everyone's keeping well and taking great care in every way possible. Keep safe, warm, and very healthy!!  3

To all those of you either ill or low in anyway, take great care and I sincerely hope you're all very well and back with us soon. 3

Hi little_sweetie, I truly wouldn't worry too much about your DGD, though no doubt you worry a lot simply because she's your DGD and clearly so very close to you. I think the ones who might refer to them with such tags as the CG would be the press, notably the BBC, they're great ones for asking folk, on camera (stirring up trouble where possibly none exists) "how are coping in these awful times", which I honestly believe brings exactly what they want, adverse reactions about it all where there may have been none. It makes me angry! 😠 I love to hear folk say "we're just getting on with things, after all, it's all you can do really isn't it!" :)

Your DGD will make her own way through life giving it her very best. We are the Baby Boomers, it did us no harm as really it meant nothing apart from being of that era. I expect the yougsters of this generation might get the same reaction, what else can really be said about them apart from that?! They'll be ok with or without any name tags though as mostly they, like us all, will be judged by the kind of folk they are which will no doubt be what they become rather than what they were. For so many, it's after school when they get the real lessons in life!

Sadly, there will always be parents who don't give a damn about their poor children or aren't a great help to their them, if any. Sadly though those parents have always been about, even through our young lives A! Thank God they have teachers to guide them as well as the parents of their friends no doubt.
Ant is very right with all that he says. I think we're both like-minded, wise I guess!!  ;) just like you! Caring definitely! 🥰 💖
I'm sure we're all naturally overly pessimistic when it comes to our loved ones, but then we love them so very much so we want the best for them and to, quite naturally, protect them as much as possible, and that's all you're doing, but maybe more for her future, natural! Take great care of yourself A, G too. Love and hugs to you both 💗

Hi Ant, I'm so glad you had such very wise words of yours to give little_sweetie, all very true too too.
What a blessing for the lady who is having precious last days with her dear Mum. How wise of her to put it in that context. I doubt very much you were muffled in your talk to her either, you're a very kind and caring chap Ant, I'm very pleased we have you here with us, seriously.
Zoom...was a disaster, I'd been so looking forward to it, and naively thought I just had to click the link D had put for us all. I don't know why I thought it wouldn't be any different, but as you obviously know, it's a case of downloading it etc first. I had no idea what I was doing and ended up putting myself as the bloomin organiser of it as I'd obviously pressed the wrong button! 🙄 Anyway come 7.30 (30 minutes later) I gave it all up and left a message for D on FB. I'll at least be able to catch up with it later, especially as I know it was set to be very interesting indeed - 32 years living with copd!!
Any wise words for me for future Zooms Ant? Muffled or otherwise, let's face it, I won't be able to hear them! 😉

Hello Dragon Lily! I'm so pleased to see you again, especially as I might have been a bit short with you last time, a bad day I'm afraid. Many apologies anyway 💖
Excellent potting with the £40!!! 🤗 Yes, don't forget the save the change also needs potting!

Hi Siju, I share your thoughts in one day looking back on it all and seeing it as a really horrible dream.
I'm so pleased your FIL has had his vaccination and that your MIL soon on Friday. I'm sure there will be great relief for them both, especially when they have their seconds!
There's a lot of truth to the quote from the film you watched. Right now I take as many good breaths as possible when DH & I are having our daily walk here in Somerset's countryside. I always feel a lot better for it when we get back.
Yes, it's the good things in life we need to hang onto until this is all over, I just hope there aren't too many folk out who are refusing to have it.!
    Great potting Siju!!

    Sue xx

    Goooooooooooooood morning potterssssssssssssssssss
pennies have been few and far between sigh, BUT last night I potted 3 x £2 coins, 1 x £1 coin, a £5 note and some silver shrapnel! wooo!
Off shopping today, but still using up the Mr T vouchers I bought pre christmas when they were giving an extra £5er for each £50 card you bought so there will be no pennies coming home with me :(
Stay safe everyone! Those vaccines are rolling out, my dad and my father in law have both been done and my mother in law got her letter yesterday  so hopefully we are taking a small hesitant step toward a more normal life

Yes @MrsShazbat it’s very much the case now that a lot of us know someone who has died from the virus. Very tough times, but each day is getting a little lighter.
Saved a few quid on the shopping so potted that electronically. Will pot some more travel savings at the end of the week.
Stay safe everyone, be as kind as you can be and try to appreciate the precious gift of life. It’s not a good life right now but things will get better.
Unfortunately in both cases it was cancer but yes I agree x

    Hello wonderful people
Sue - Sorry to hear your Zoom was a disaster. Hopefully you have downloaded the app now? If you google ‘Zoom app’ it should be fairly easy to find and download. Don’t give up on it. It’s god fun when it works. I’m not great at it either. Couldn’t set one up, just joined as an attendee. Actually I’m so bad I somehow managed to join an old out of date meeting the other week. Luckily, one other of my group did the same silly thing so we had a chat on the wrong meeting! Was so much easier when all we could do was write letters to each other 😀😄
Let us know how your next attempt goes!
Few more pounds in the dog (daughter’s old piggy bank) this week from travel savings.
Nights getting a bit lighter now.
Have the best weekend you can everyone.

  • Hi everyone , there is only virtual potting here at the moment that’s up to £31.87. I’m hosting a surprise virtual baby shower on Sunday for my daughter I am hoping it works ok , am her childcare support bubble so am taking a balloon arrangement and a mini afternoon tea for them to enjoy and asked participants to have a drink and cake to enjoy with her! There should be between 15 and 20 people and I’ve paid for a month of pro zoom so we can have longer than 40 mins. I hope it goes to plan and some kind friends have given / posted presents to give her on Sunday which is nice. They are mostly younger generation so I’m hoping they are able to manage to zoom in to the party , DGD no 2 is due at end of the month! Baking time tomorrow , scones and brandy snaps and pink cupcakes! Have a good weekend everyone 😀

    Morning all.
It is a foggy one here in NW Leic, but as I look over to the grass verge across from my house I see Daffodils starting to appear, and the road that leads into my village has a carpet of white snowdrops, so spring is on its way.
Just filled my bird feeders up and spent a couple of minutes watching them come and enjoy their breakfast.
£1.54 gone in my pot Today.
And remember no matter how bad things may be right now, we are lucky because this morning we woke up!!
Enjoy the little things and stay safe.

Hello everyone, not much potting just a handful of change from the food shop.  Had a catch up with my manager, on Zoom 🤣 and ended up agreeing that the highlight of both our weeks is the trip to the supermarket.  I go Friday lunchtime and he goes Tuesday 7am; my how social life’s have changed.  My cousin lives in Perth Australia so have had a 5 day snap lockdown.  Their state governor had always said one case and into lockdown so they were kind of prepared but hadn’t had a local case for 10 months.  It made me laugh when she said people were stockpiling toilet rolls 🧻, ah the flashbacks........On a more serious note though it has been 38C and they couldn’t have the air con working due to the bush fires with smoke and ash in the atmosphere.  They had also been told that every house had to have an evacuation plan even those in the suburbs like them.  Dark, miserable and wet here but no snow yet.  Hope everyone is staying safe ❤️

Hello again SPCers! 😊 I hope you've all had a smashing weekend. I really hope everyone's keeping well and taking very great care in every way possible. Keep safe, warm, and very healthy!!  3

To all those of you either ill or low in anyway, take great care and I sincerely hope you're all very well and back with us soon. 3

Hi jakes-mum, and that's some great savings you've potted, bargains too! Keep healthy 😘
Great to hear some family members have been vaccinated.

Hi Ant, actually I've been looking forward to your response, thanks a great deal. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who can make blunders. 🤩
From what I saw the week before it's a great way of doing it, far better than Skype with folk around the same monitor, and even virtual strangers soon get to know who they're talking to with the names coming up at the bottom.
I sincerely hope I manage to get it right on Wednesday! I've already got the Zoom app down, fingers crossed I get the rest right!! 🙄
Very well done with the potting Ant, especially potting in the dog which has turned into a pig!! 😉
You can really see the difference in the nights drawing out now, brilliant. 😊
Take care of yourself and the family.

Hi welshspendthrift, good to see you and hear of your great potting!
What a brilliant idea with the baby shower!! You've thought it out excellently and it certainly sounds as though it'll work out well for you all. I wonder just how many others haved Zoomed in on a baby shower, it sounds a lot like gatecrashing! 😉
Do please let us know when your daughters happy events take place. The very best of luck with it all.

Hi madlyn! I quite like foggy days to be honest, they certainly make it wintery when it isn't very.
At least your view is brightened by Snowdrops as well as the near arrival of Daffs.
It's lovely to hear of other bird loving feeders, I love watching ours feeding, but also squabbling at times!
Some really great advice you've given us all, many thanks madlyn and keep healthy! 😊
    Good potting!

Hi Hetty, at least you've potted a handful of cash, a lot better than nowt. So, another of SPC members who have been zooming. At least you caught up with your manager and found the highlight of each others week, oh such fun! 😂😂
I heard from a Dr on YouTube last night about that snap lockdown, by golly just hours to get ready, but I can't help thinking it's the best way to stop the spread.
With regards to the snow and really wintery weather though, I'd far sooner that than live through the fears of possible wildfires and evacuations each year!! 😢 Let's hope it's nothing like last time!

    Excellent saving, Dragon Lily!! 🤗

Very sad news from our very dear friends this morning, their dear Son passed away during the night. He had Downs Syndrome and dementia and still lived to a good age of 57. He even out-lived his younger Brother who very sadly died from cancer 5 years ago at 50. Our dear friends had great pleasure with their Sons, both lovely lads, but still very sad indeed.

Hi all, hope you're all well. Still potting away and hoping to meet my target for this year. Hubby had his Covid vaccine last week, he was told if I'd gone with him I could have had mine too, if only we'd known that. He had asked me to go with him but I said it was'nt wise with the restrictions in place (and not wanting to stand outside waiting for him, it's very cold here) Oh well, we'll have to hope it won't be too lont till it's my turn.
