AntoMac, Thank you, your first two sentences are so true and a comfort to read. We all need to be a bit kinder to each other when we can. So many people are struggling right now but the vaccine is being distributed now and in ever increasing numbers so we must hold onto hope that the spring will bring positive change. Hubby and I are so fed up of being cooped up, there's nowhere nice to walk and we are missing our daughter and grandchildren so much. I'm still not going into shops and using cash so the only potting I can report is cashback of £6.13 🙄

AntoMac said:Stay safe everyone, be as kind as you can be and try to appreciate the precious gift of life. It’s not a good life right now but things will get better.Oh Ant, I found your last paragraph so touching, though it's certainly true that life, so long as we have, is extremely precious. 💖Good Afternoon Potters! 😊 I hope everyone has had a good Thursday and is keeping well and taking great care in every way possible. Keep warm, and very healthy all!!To all those of you either ill or low in anyway, take great care and I sincerely hope you're all very well soon and back with us.Hi LivingInTheBlack, good to hear from you, and with a brilliant sum potted too! 🤗 Look after yourself.Hello MrsShazbat, you're right about the time still flying by, Covid or not.Brilliant news about what you've saved so far. Plum must be brilliant for you, LITB (above) and others too.Very sad to hear about the deaths of your neighbour's Mothers and so close in time too. There's a part of me that doesn't blame you for giving a hug to the one who looked so lost; I really don't know how folk cope when they're unable to have close contact with loved ones, one of the terribly rotten things of this blasted pandemic! 😡 Take very good care of yourself. Love and hugs to you xxWell done with all your cash, or otherwise, potted one way or tother it's still money saved! 😘Stay healthy Ant.Hi little_sweetie! Weren't Ant's sentences a real comfort, I just had to quote them or they'd have been on the other page far too quickly. Are you sure there's nowhere you and G could go for a walk, it's so important for us all to get out, even for a short while as exercise does our endorphins the world of good and really makes us feel so very much better. I'm so sorry you're unable to see your dear lass and granddaughter, it's a huge loss. How about linking up with "Zoom", I've no real knowledge of it yet, though I'm just about to as our COPD group is linking up together which will do us all so much good, and they give such great advice, which in time, I might well need though, thankfully I've only been diagnosed as mild so far!!Great potting! It doesn't matter how you're able to get it. Take very great care A, and you know where I am.£20 added to the IOU list.Have a relaxing evening, folks, a lovely THURSDAY too, and PLEASE......DO TAKE GREAT CARE!!NB folks: Opening date for SPC 14 is 28th October 2021.Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late!😊 So please just ask and you will be made very welcome.

Little Sweetie and Sue. Thank you for your kind comments. I had been on a Zoom earlier this week and one of the chaps was in a terrible state. It brought home to me just how tough this situation can be. I think letting his feelings go did him a huge amount of good. I think the rest of us on the call were the first people he’d spoken to for a fortnight. So much hidden unhappiness.
Anyway, I’m not here to bring the mood down. This is a positive and uplifting challenge and thread. Sue, you deserve Legend status and multiple gold stars for the way you run it.
I have potted travel savings but also wanted to recommend World of Books if you want to make a few quid.
Wife went through our books the other day, scanned the details in, boxed them up, a day or so later they were collected from our door and a few days later we received 30 plus pounds. She put it into her holiday fund but it seemed like a very hastle free way of making a bit of potting money if you have an excess of books in decent condition.

AntoMac, this virus is indiscriminate. One of hubby's workmates caught it during the first lockdown and spent 6 weeks on a ventilator. He's suffering still with depression and flashbacks, poor chap, and one of the student workers caught it a few weeks ago. It knocked him for six and he's only 21. Kindness and concern is the most we can do for them personally at the moment but following the rules helps everyone. Take care AntoMac .....and thanks for the tip regarding book sales. It might help many people struggling financially at the moment. I also echo your sentiment regarding our dear Sue, she is an absolute gem!
Nothing to report re pottingbut Spring is on it's way so that's one reason to be cheerful
I've just had a wander round the garden and the bulbs are coming up...Yay!

PS forgot to say, Sue, I wouldn't have a clue how to use Zoom but we do use WhatsApp occasionally although I have to pick my moment with home schooling going on at their house. Poor Zoe is tearing her hair out some days as GD should be taking GCSE's this year
so I don't feel able to unburden myself on her as well. Hope you and T are feeling better. How's the ankle?

Good Afternoon SPCers! 😊 I hope you're all enjoying a good Thursday, quite a lovely day, especially as they had forecast rain and possibly snow! Fingers crossed you're all keeping well and taking great care in every way possible. Keep warm, and very healthy all!!To all those of you either ill or low in anyway, take great care and I sincerely hope you're all very well soon and back with us.Hi Ant, that poor dear chap on Zoom, you're heart really goes out to such folk, thank the Lord for Zoom. Let's hope it lightened him after speaking out. Carry on doing good Ant.Don't ever worry about bringing the mood down, if anything I think it shows members and onlookers that we have hearts and care; you never know who here might be encouraged to speak out knowing we have listening ears and caring hearts. They can speak out or we can easily be PM'd.I'm going in a group each Wednesday starting next Wednesday, but was told last night that we all need mics. I would have thought our laptop mics would have been ok, any idea Ant?Thanks for explaining all that's needed with book sales as we've got a fair few to sort through too.I don't know about me being a legend or a gem, but many thanks anyway, just remember that both you and little_sweetie do very well too! 😇😘😇 😘 Though I honestly think the majority of us here really do care about others, bless you all.Hi little-sweetie! It's so sad that many victims of this blasted virus go on suffering for months with Long Covid and so many not only suffer with such overall weakness, but it affects all the vital organs too! 😢 I know some have even been Drs and Surgeons. As you rightly say, it's totally indiscriminate. I so agree with you A in that "following the rules helps everyone!" We had an electrician here fixing our kitchen/diner radiator a couple of days ago, through conversation we discussed the idiots going out and having parties, he shocked us both with his retort "it would be worth the cost of a fine to be able to party!!" 😳 From our reactions he knew we were horrified, T said that's the trouble with those who go against the rules in any way and especially party right now, they don't give a damn about anyone else's suffering or lives lost!!! 😡 Thank goodness it didn't take the electrician long to finish up!!Poor Zoe, I can understand what she and your young granddaughter are going through, all psyched up for that really major event... and then it's a no go! 😕 Are they also being graded by the relative teachers? It's certainly the only sure way, though no doubt they'd sooner be doing it properly. All of ours were fortunate, the elder 3 settled with kiddies, the middle one working as a PE teacher at a private college as well as being a house father! 🤗 Still he worked hard for it. The youngest still has another year before his exams. We've got Snowdrops in bloom, a gorgeous little flower, Crocus too are just in bud, Jonquil Daffs too. Hellebores have been out some time, winter/spring bloomers I know, but so long lasting. I love spring flowers. Yay indeed! ❤️I'm on WhatsApp, but have only used it once, whereas Zoom will come as a whole new experience next Wednesday, especially as it's my first time!Anytime you wish to unburden yourself to me my friend, do so without a second thought. ☺️I'm using the ankle and go for gentle walking once a day with T, it's still a long way to go, though the Physio did say it might never fully recover! It's still stiff all in and around the ankle, but I do daily exercises so, you never know.Take very good care dear A, G too xx PS keep on havinig a wander rounf the garden to keep cheerful.Sue xxEnjoy your evening, folks, and have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!! ...and PLEASE......DO KEEP HEALTHY!!NB folks: Opening date for SPC 14 is 28th October 2021.Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late!😊 So please just ask and you will be made very welcome.Sealed Pot Challenge 001 My Totals = 08 = £163.95 09 = £315.78 10 = £518.80 11 = £481.87 12 = £694.53 13 = £1200.20! 14 = £881 15 = £839.21 16 = £870.48 17 = £871.52 18 = £800.00 19 = £851.022021=£820.26[/SizeGrand Totals of all members (2008 uncounted) 2009 = £32.154.32! 2010 = £37.581.47! 2011 = £42.474.34! 2012 = £49.759.46! 2013 = £50.642.78! 2014 = £61.367.88!! 2015 = £52.852.06! 2016 = £52, 002.40!! 2017 = £50,456.23!! 2018 = £47, 815.88! 2019 = £38.538.37!!!! :j4

Sue I’m sure the microphone on your laptop will do just fine. Zooms we have with wife’s family are chaotic but great fun. Usually someone leaves themselves on mute or there’s some awful feedback or echo going on, but it’s all part of the fun. Give it a go and you’ll soon get the hang of it.
Talking of snowdrops, even I’ve noticed them appearing. I take Mum for a little walk to the graveyard at weekends (more uplifting than it sounds) and the snowdrops there are lovely. The Church yard itself is picture perfect. As with nature there’s so much beauty around us. Much more noticeable at the moment.
Take care everyone

Morning all #071 here, just put £3.55 into my pot.
If it stops raining here in NW Leic my dad and I will be chopping logs later then back inside for a bacon butty and a mug of tea.
Stay safe and enjoy what you have.SPC 0374 -
Hi everyone. I’ve just potted £25 as my energy saving club cash back was paid this week. We had a walk down to the cashpoint to take out my months cash. Walking past the doctors surgery they are in full swing doing vaccinations; loads in and out. I’m concentrating on spring now so keeping my spirits up. My seeds arrived this morning and I have also treated myself (what again!!!) to a small heated propagator. This year will be the year of the 🍅 and 🌶. The article on the bbc website this week about the first uk case being a York University student a year ago brought things home as it is where I work. It will soon be 12 months since I was sent home and there’s no sign of getting back to campus. Although in reality I don’t have time to go back to campus to work! When would I pop the washing in and peg it out? And when would I do my exercise which I now squeeze in at lunchtime 🧘♀️ The animals would miss me dreadfully too, or so I hope 🤣. Off now to make a sourdough pizza base, fingers crossed. A sourdough starter (named Barry) is the project Alex and I, but mainly me, have filled this week with 🍕Take care everyone 🙂SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)5
