    Could I join please?
On the 1st of each month I withdraw £250.00 and keep it in a separate purse and that is what buys my shopping each month.
At the end of the month I will chuck any coins I have in to my sealed pot.
I have done this for many years and usually count it up twice a year, but this year I will leave it and count on the date set.

madlyn - An excellent start on yoursavings!! All the best with potting as much as you're able! 😊

Good Afternoon SPCers! 😊 I hope you all had a really great weekend and have all stayed well. Keep warm, and very healthy!!  3
To all of you who are either ill or down in anyway, take freat care and I sincerely hope you're all very well soon <3

A VERY SAFE, HEALTHY & HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! 😊🤩

Hello Buffy!! 😮 So lovely to see you so soon, wonderful though! 😍
Live money spends eh?! Not easy spending cash these days for sure. You keep very healthy and stay safe. See you soon with luck, even if it's just to say hi.
    Sue xx

Hi Ant, how to create more potting bits and pieces is a point worth thinking about for when or if you return to work! 🤔
Knowing you, you'll find a way to be sure of some good savings in October!
As you haven't a clue how much you saved then, why not save a certain amount one week and a slightly different amount the next and so forth so you'll still never have a clue of your savings?! Sounds good to me, but see what you think.

My coping mechanism is exactly the same as yours, what better one could you have? If I'm ill I always think "well, it could be a whole lot worse" and it's very true.
Our neighbour 2 doors down has a lovely daughter who is terribly ill in hospital with cancer of the liver and bowel, the bowel has been operated on and apart from her needing a bag (she's fine with that), it's seemingly ok. However, the liver has been operated on twice due to recurring tumours on and around the liver, she's just recovering from the 2nd operation on it now and just wants her dear Dad to help her to die. The consultant has told him the op is making her feel like that. Poor girl, so young it seems so unfair. I hope to God she survives as she also has a young Son.

You're quite right about us mostly saying we're ok in answer to anyone saying "how are you?" When often as not..we aren't.
    Take care Ant.
Excellent work with the savings from e!bay, Doily94!!

Have a lovely evening and a great TUESDAY, and DO TAKE GREAT CARE .....PLEASE!!

NB folks: Opening date for SPC 14 is 28th October 2021.

Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late!😊 So please just ask and you will be made very welcome.

Sorry to read about your neighbour, sounds like she is being extremely brave, I hope she recovers from her current operation quick.

Nothing to share yet, as I haven't really left the house, and when I do its for a little walk around the block.

Hi everyone, I have always saved my loose change but never taken much notice of how much throughout the year.
This year I am aiming for a target of £75.00.

Good Afternoon Potters! 😊 I hope everyone is keeping well and taking great care in every way possible. Keep warm, and very healthy all!!  3
To all of you who are either ill or low in anyway, take great care and I sincerely hope you're all very well soon and back with us. 3
Hi Westie, many thanks indeed, we just have to keep hoping and praying that all will indeed be well. Sometimes she's extremely brave, but others, not so, and very understandable too.
Her father is having a knee replacement tomorrow (Friday), I hope all goes well for him too.

I quite understand why you're not able to pot any cash at present. It really is a shocking time, especially for all those extremely ill, for their loved ones too. So many very sad deaths and all those in mourning, it's unthinkable, truly it is.
    Take great care of yourself.

Good potting Doily94, and thank goodness for the self scanners!

Hi Franlow01, I wasn't quite sure who you were talking to above, whether it was a message to Madlyn or news to share...
I'll assume the most of your post was to us all, in which case terribly sad news for your BIL. I'm not sure if you were talking afterwards about someone else having chemo or not, but either way, so very sad indeed, and I can only wish them both well, you too.
Fingers very firmly crossed re the car! Take very great care and all the best for the New Year for you.

All the very best for a very good savings year for you, Madlyn! I've added the Target of £75 alongside your name and No on the second post, all good wishes in reaching it - or going further!! 😍

Have a peacefull evening and a great FRIDAY, and DO TAKE GREAT CARE .....PLEASE!!

  • So I've decided I never really have cash, but I have a round up capability on my Monzo app so I'm doing that, it's going into a pot which is locked until 28th Oct. I will still put any oddments of cash I receive into a money box of sorts, but figured the Monzo thing might actually garner be better results. I've not spent loads this month but there's a token six quid there :)
