I'd pay the fine and not do the course with or without a mask. I cant imagine the course is very in depth: wear a seat belt, it'll probably keep you alive. How they stretch that to several hours I dont knowTooManyPoints said:They don't;... the seatbelt course takes just 30mins and the fee is £52.80 (with or without a mask,...or seismometer)

Oh, well then I cant see how they stretch it to half an hour but the cost and small amount of time taken would start to make it viable against a £100 fine, regardless of how inane it must be.Biggus_Dickus said:Scrapit said:

As inane as it needs to be for its target audience?Scrapit said:

That's very possibly true. Who knows? But, armed with your in-depth knowledge of seismology, would you pay a £100 fine or take a course when accused of a seatbelt offence?

Dunno, never needed one. I would expect most people would know you should wear one and why.Car_54 said:

Yes, but the course isn't for "most" people. It's mainly for those who either don't know, or think they know better.Scrapit said:

i got it for driving without seatbelt. As my name suggests I joined the forum after I got the seatbelt ticket. The funny thing is I was wearing my seatbelt. The plod pulled me over for overtaking a learner driver who was doing 15mph, plod reckons I was overtaking dangerously as there were minor roads joining the main road I was driivng on. Also reckons I was speeding but they had no way of knowing as they were parked.Anyways I argued the point with them, he conceded, and said "ok, but why weren't you wearing your seatbelt". I don't know what got into me but I just took their word for it and assumed they saw me without a seatbelt while driving. Then I realised after goinging through the steps of what happened in my head, that I took the seatbelt off after I was pulled over and it's an automatic reaction when I park up.I always wear seatbelt when driivng, I feel like there's something missing like I've got pants on without underwear when I don't have seatbelt on. To the point that when I am the back passenger on a car I have the seatbelt on too.Anyway, I took the fine and din't bother with course, it's almost the same price and they will just tell you things to make you feel bad, which only lasts maybe 2 months and you forget everything.0
