Refrencing the n95 rating is bit like the ritcher scale, only used by the press and has no real meaning here.
The ritcher scale has no real meaning anywhere.
It is relatable, it has easily defined boundary between levels and observable effects.

It's a good thing if you're buying a sound system.

How can it be relatable to anything seeing as there is no such thing as the ritcher scale?

Oh pedantry, thats always useful. You wouldnt want to be one of those would you? Course you wouldn't, no one does. Unless you are ignorant to the point being made due to a minor typo? Which camp do you fall into?

I’m just amazed I haven’t had it despite working with coronavirus patients throughout the pandemic wearing just a standard surgical (IR2) mask and face shield. They must have done something right (so far).

Charles Richter wouldn't call it pedantic to ask to have his name spelt correctly when the scale he devised is being used in an attempt to prove a point.

What is the point being proven? The scale was given as an analogy, n95 isnt a viable system in the UK, it just isn't. Not cos I say so, its the British and European systems. *Shrug*

But the observable effects aren't consistent - just look at the list of largest earthquakes and their impacts, there is no consistent correlation with number of deaths, cost of damage etc

Yes it is. Its the physical effects of the forces released.
