There are ways to disable the chime.  If you put the seatbelt in and out 8 times on my car, it disables the chime.

Alternatively, put a spare buckle in the catch.
Eight times? That's pretty much saying its easier to put the belt on.

Seems to be more common to just buckle the seatbelt and then sit on top of it to avoid the chimes
That would also put you in line for a Darwin Award.
Indeed, there was an infamous case in the US of an "advocate" against seatbelt laws, he was killed in a car crash where the belt would have saved him (as it did the 2 other people in the car who were wearing them)

A 1997 car-crash in Paris caused the deaths of 3 occupants. The lone survivor was the one person wearing a seat-belt.

“Clunk-click every trip”...are we allowed to say that these days?  :s

My course (next month) requires me to download Zoom to make the course interactive and to ensure my undivided attention.

Seems a bit pointless running them through zoom, what's stopping you logging in, minimising the zoom window and spending 2.5hrs on MSE (other forums are available)  :D

    AFAIK the courses are participative.

    Good afternoon Naughtius (long time no see!);

I assume, perhaps wrongly,  they’ve got that covered;...probably interactive online questions or sumfink like that.

It was certainly possible to ‘fail’ an awareness course  so I guess an online ‘fail’ is equally possible for people who **** about. :D

  • The host on zoom can put up questions on a pop up, and will know who doesn't answer them.
  • I wonder if those that are anti seat belt are also of the anti mask/face covering variety.

On a YouTube video earlier there was an ad for Volvo that showed people's disdain for seat belts when first introduced.  The arguments were the same as for face masks

I would rather pay £100 fine rather than £95 to suffer sanctimonious preaching for 2.5 hours.

2.5hrs is a finite time;...a minor speeding fine could perhaps?? have future unforeseen consequences .

    ...just sayin’  :)

    Like what unforeseen consequences?

If he could answer that they wouldn't be unforeseen.
