Morning all
Rubbish nights sleep for me again, but I’ve made my notes for my manager on Tuesday, feeling a little calmer now so hopefully I can talk things through with her properly.
Yesterday I cleaned the fridge, inventoried the freezer, meal planned and did the food shop, also ran a couple of errands. DH cleaned the house with the exception of the kitchen which I did after supper last night, it looks much better so it makes me feel better!
Today we are going to collect DH new car, will probably take a few hours, this afternoon will try for a walk in the sunshine if we can, then I’m planning on sitting and reading, easy supper planned as well.
Have a good day all x9 -
A lovely sunny day and an extra hour to decorate in.
Lol Piggers...

Beautiful morning here too, after yesterday’s wind and lashing rain. Too wet to go to the allotment, but I have a lot of sewing things that I would like to indulge in. I think DH might have other ideas for my time, though.
Flying wise, I have a pile of clean washing to sort, some of which will need ironing. Easy dinner planned here too - DD has requested pasta. That is as far as the day’s plan has got so far.
Lol, Piggers, that made me smile.9 -
Raining again down here.
I spent yesterday pottering around, making sure the posh pans were washed properly (ie, on the outside as well) and suchlike. I did wonder about pointing out to him that failing to look after nice things I've worked hard to buy makes me feel rubbish, but then he'd just say he was fine with cheap rubbish inexpensive items anyhow. When they'd fall apart/be unusable even quicker. Already had the discussion about a new sofa where he doesn't want anything expensive. But we're only thinking about getting a new one in the first place because the cheap one I bought about 8 years ago is literally falling apart. Ugh. I'm not that much of a snob, but 'buy cheap, buy twice' definitely applies with some things - I might remind him of the multiple vacuum cleaners he's had go poufffff within ten minutes of buying them. And the toaster. And the microwave. And the blenders...
Himself's little work trip nearly became a big problem, as he was stuck at London Bridge for a couple of hours with all the services being cancelled for 'urgent track work', which they didn't tell anybody, but I found out easily enough online. Fortunately, that also meant that I could tell him that the next service, whilst it had dropped off the displays, was absolutely on its way and if he nipped over to platform 4, he'd have a chance of getting on it before everybody realised it was there.
He then got off our end just as the heavens opened properly and then had to wade the last mile home, as the underground river than runs underneath the house had decided to pop up and say hello again. Despite his witterings, I managed to get him to stand on a towel whilst I helped him undo soaked bootlaces and unpeel his socks as they weren't coming off without a fight (and I wasn't having him squelch his way further into the house). I then chucked a couple of towels fresh from the TD at him and then some clothes, plus a big mug of ginger tea. It sounds as though most of the buildings around us have had at least minor flooding, but this house was built on top of a huge concrete slab to raise it above the standard flood levels, so we're fine.
Crashed out after a quick meal from the freezer and a monster movie - which was a very good idea, as the Idiot Cat happily bounced onto the bed at his usual time for his usual attention, pillow stealing and happily shredding any exposed skin. So I've been up since 4.45am GMT. Idiot Cat has naturally been snoring in the armchair since about 5.25am, having inspected the outside world from the inside of the back door and decided it's still unappealing. Fluffy Cat didn't even bother checking and has been doing her impression of a fluffy seat cushion under the kitchen table for about the same length of time.
I've got my breakfast things to wash up and then I'm going to deweb the upstairs bathroom, but other than that, there's not a huge amount of things to do today.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll9 -
I believe work and his colleagues are taking advantage of OH's good nature.. He stayed an extra hour yesterday to do the order for Tuesdays delivery.. after a rather stressful day. Today he is 6-close.. so basically to clean so everyone else can go home.. He got a text at 8:25am asking if he could be in at 9 to cover one of the colleagues who is 'ill' ... a few of them went out on the lash last night.. so we all know what they are ill with. He got really upset .. So... while he went to stress vomit, I messaged them back saying sorry but no. I said he made plans which couldn't be changed.. it's more like I have made plans for him and I am not prepared to see him so upset he is vomitting because his colleagues take advantage.. the extra 6 hours pay would have been very very useful but he would then be doing 13 hours again.
So, today we are flinging stuff in the loft and clearing the landing. It is very full of rubbish and stuff so I need to do it and get it all nice and clear.
Washing I need to do.. it's beautiful here today so getting some on the line is a priority..
I must fold the dry stuff from the kitchen too.. I have piles everywhere.Keeping a close eye on Nutkin as he still appears to be limping and sore when he is walking.. he is eating and toileting and happy to be fussed on and he is putting weight on it so I think it is just bruised.. it is clear suddenly who is the instigator of the stampedes though.. it is very quiet!Apparently Dot is going to starve to death so I must dash and feed her before she expires!!

Hi all
Pigpen, poor OH, its hard isnt it because you want to be seen as someone who is prepared to go the extra mile at work but there is a fine line between that and being taken advantage of. He needs to stand up for himself a bit or it will never end.
ASB, from being very small DS2 would be awake at 5.30/6am, no matter how late he went to bed, it lasted until he was well into his teens when all of a sudden he changed overnight and now he is a proper student, rarely awake before 11am unless he has to be!
My brother visited yesterday, we cycled to a local teashop and sat outside and had coffee and cake. Then my parents came around for tea, just 5 of us as DS is away. Had a lovely evening but slept really badly, not sure if was the couple of glasses of wine but I was restless and dreaming all night. Gardening this morning, sleepy now but determined not to nap.10 -

Pigpen asked, "Are we doing fly-cards this year?"
IMHO I think we should do everything possible to lift each other's spirits, so it's a YES vote from me. If Natty doesn't feel up to sorting the cards this year, I am happy to deputise. I am also very willing to organise a Secret Santa, if folk are interested - but if someone else wants to take that on, please say so.
Don't forget to turn your clocks back tomorrow (Saturday) night! xx
I'll sort the details out next week, although it'll probably have to be communicated via FB what with the new rules on here now. I might get away with one post about it but not sure if they'll let the PM's go through like previous years.
Sorted out earlier than I thought..lolMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Iona - I will respond later...you'll see why in a minute
SO
I have emptied DW, made my bed, removed various gibble and small furnishings from guest bedroom, discovered DD doesn't know how to remove a light shade - she dismantled the fitting while the leccy was on, so we switched off leccy, replaced fitting, switched leccy on, tested light, breathed sigh of relief. She informed me she'd only touched plastic. Given she was (a) breathing and (b) still alive I had pretty much figured that bit out. I have also pegged out washing and cleaned out rabbit hutch and lifted up to clean understorey.
DD and I have filled in newly-discovered (fine) cracks, sanded down yesterdays filler, washed down walls, sanded down today's filler and painted coving and ceiling. Just stopped to make and eat carrot and coriander soup. I also made a stew which is in SC for later on. I did that before I did most of what I have already posted, actually.
So, when I have finished my coffee I shall fetch the washing in and re-set the hutch with clean stuff.

YL, I'm not sure he has ever stood up for himself anywhere ever.. Squeak is very similar in nature.. I dread to think what might happen once she is up to high school.
4 loads of washing done, 1 more swishing and half a load waiting for friends.
DW on after filter was cleaned
2 ebeasty parcels sorted.. and I have massively hurt my back lifting a too heavy box and twisting with it because I couldn't move my leg.. the place I hurt my back is about 6 inches above the place where my hip pain starts.. sometimes I wish I could remove my head from the rest of me.
