Look up ipads on ebay, that will give you a value, it might not be what Argos offer, but it's a good negotiating chip.

Sorry it was £421.

One problem is they could say something like I used my iPad for 16 months and so they’ll only give me something like £100 back which is hardly fair. I’d expect an iPad to last me 6 years easily and apple’s latest iOS software s supported on the iPad Air 2 which came out over 6 years ago! So this shows how Apple products cannot just be expected to last a year or two.

It is because Apple increased the price of the iPad line this year. Also the iPad in shops most comparable to my iPad is the basic £329 iPad but this has: a smaller screen, a non laminated display, 32gb less storage and so the value of my iPad is much more as people really want these features.
