Not sure where you're getting £421, most of them on eBay (sold prices) are sub-£200

You can even get a refurb on Amazon for £299.95

I think you'd be lucky to get £200.I’ve just checked on CeX, the most for the good condition iPad is are £220. As OPs is not in good condition, and considering it’s use, the £100 from Argos is a good offer.
Written on my six year old iPad 2. Still working, but than again if the company I work for wants me to use an trinket, they buy me said trinket!

You're not going to get £400 for your broken trinket!
I’m identifying the cost it would be for a like-for-like replacementAnteater23 said:I used to work for a company (around 2 years ago) and using the colleague discount I bought a tablet for personal use. It never even crossed my mind to sell the product but 2 years (I did not purchase it to sell it on) on circumstances have changed.Lots of people buy iPhones and then a few years later sell it on to put towards the new model. Is selling my product allowed? I didn’t buy it for resale, instead I bought it to use myself for my education but now circumstances have changed and I need a new device.Spank said:This isn't your broken iPad is it?Anteater23 said:

I’m identifying the cost it would be for a like-for-like replacementThe cost to you of a "like for like" replacement is irrelevant. If Argos accept the fault is inherent they can repair, replace or refund - their choice to make. If they decide to refund they are entitled to reduce your refund to take account of the 16 months use you have had of it. The fact it may cost you £400 to get a like for like replacement is irrelevant. You might get 50% back at a push, but more likely to be about 30% - 33%.Second hand prices on eBay etc only give a very vague idea of what somebody is willing to pay to obtain one - NOT what Argos would be obliged to refund.1 -
