Fallen for a potential iPhone scam - 3pinproducts.com

  • Guys, take a look at Mr. "Jenkins" who left a review for 3PP and minutes later for two other companies.

    https://uk.trustpilot.com/users/5fada3951cd785001a9e1210

This looks rather suspicious because other reviewers from 3PP have done the same. Normally, people review one company and then maybe an another in hours or days, not in minutes.

I think I've seen every trick that 3PP has pulled.

Oh, I almost left this out..

Interesting that 3PP mentions PayPal because they do not offer it as a payment method. If they did, customers would have had protection against them.
  • Luca Guerra is the name behind this company (trading as Tech Elite). He used to be the director of a now dissolved company called UK Spec Tech. Google them and you’ll see it’s the same old story. Lots of disappointed/angry people who paid for something they never received.  Let’s hope we can prevent others falling for the same scam.

Good to know more about that Luca Guerra guy.

Links of his scam businesses, and a Trustpilot page.

He'll probably close down 3PP and try to open another one.

I get the feeling that the 'being shipped from Australia / Malaysia" is purely a ruse to keep taking peoples money and delay the inevitable closing down of website and disappearing with people's money. (as happened with previous company) It gives him another 2-3 weeks potentially. You can only hope that anyone that does any research will find the red flags and avoid.

I've already sent more info to Trustpilot about {Text removed by Forum Team}. He won't be able to censor honest reviewers for too much longer.

Well the good news is if he does that a Chargeback will still get your money back if the goods do not arrive. It comes from the retailers merchant bank.

I would reiterate to anyone that has not got their goods. That a Visa chargeback can be started 15 days after the debit on your account, even if they state a later delivery.

    Life in the slow lane

Of course - depending on how much money is coming in - they might indeed choose to send out a handful of phones - just to keep up the impression that it's real - as that tiny number of people will indeed be encouraged to leave a positive genuine review which actually won't be fake.

If they take 1000 orders at £250 each - just as a rough example - that's £250,000 - if they then spend £5000 sending out real phones to 20 actual customers who are actively encouraged to leave a review - if not hounded to do so - that'll be a good handful of genuine reviews - and still £245k in the back pocket to continue the scam further.

Not everything is always what it seems.
