Even better if she is in the same county.

Thanks again everyone. I've been sleeping in fits and starts and finally got up at 3am. I'm ok but dream about fires. Nothing specific, but I guess it's a basic human fear of fire and threatening people.
But someone in this thread gave me advice that I could ask for the police to be present if my ex-tenant or her family want to pick up her stuff. When I spoke to police yesterday they said they wouuld agree to it to prevent 'public disorder'. Also I could get court injunction if I needed, so that is a relief!0 -
Oh yes, I see!
The reason I missed the joke is that although police won't tell me where she is living (I don't want to know), they did say it is not a million miles from where I live!
Spooky!0 -

That is really helpful of the Police. Not a million miles away eh? Nowhere on Earth is more than 12,500 miles away.

Very good GG!!
She has my home address from the SHT agreement.
But I've never actually met her as everything went through the 3rd party charitable trust wh also hold the deposit.
Incidentally, I contacted them with a view of getting some expenses back from the deposit and covering the insurance excess, etc.
The trust - whom I have kept informed of the progress of all this, said that they normally go through certain procedures.
At this point - went into hysterical (slightly scary) laughter. hat set it off was that initially the trust made a video of the condition of the flat in order to compare at the end of the tenancy.
I had a vision of ythe trust picking their way through the debris and videoing. Then dutifully comparing the two videos.
But the trust - who's offices are just around the corner from my flat, said they can speed up the process!0 -

Good. I would wait until the family-from-hell contact you, then find out when the police can schedule a Police Officer in, before confirming the appointment with (b). I wouldnt tell them in advance that the Police will be present, as they are likely to start playing games. Just make sure the PC's who turn up aware of the investigation (dont assume they would have been told), just so that they can pay particular attention to any comments made by them
However, I just have to say cgw, if it was might flat, all their 'belongings' would have been in a landfill days ago0
