First 10 grow bags moved. Some nods from the neighbours but no one stopped to chat - I think they were worried I'd ask them to help Taking a quick break for a cup of tea and to see if my boss has noticed I'm distracted, then I'll take an early lunch and shift the 10 bags of bark... turned into another lovely sunny day.

Ah so my germolene is more the more recent end of a +decade old then, cos it's a tube and it's pink. Sunning cods indeed   I might look and see if I see any today, just for interest. I can't get out food shopping because the pole people (who've been told to stop their nonsense) have blocked the end of my road off so they can put up another pole. Well the first 2 aren't in any use so maybe they're going for third time's a charm... I'm not giving them much longer (despite their claims of "we'll be done in a few minutes love") for it's nearly 11 oclcock and I want to be on. I'll have to go out there and Be Cross with them shortly.

Gawd we're a collection of funny bu99ers on here, I love it  

I think I'll have no toms this year because a) I got so many last year, or b) St Fiacre doesn't appreciate Hanging Baskets of Barbylon. Miserable swine.

Bark moved, and 9 of the 19 bags of compost... more tea required Why I didn't get this stuff delivered while there were fit and helpful young men around I have no idea  

Right. All 40 bags shifted. Not stacked tidy but at least off the street. I'm going to have a nice sit down now and hope no one asks me to do anything difficult for a little while... then I might move the pallet if no one's taken it...

taff, you sound like me with your dodgy ankle and arm. Don’t be falling in the pond while separating your water lilies. We’ve got lilies in our pond and I don’t remember them flowering last year 🤔 hope they haven’t floated off to the fjords.

I decided to go for a walk instead of lugging stones from one bit of the garden to another. One of the nearby crab apples is just starting to flower and the other one isn’t far behind...

Get that pallet fetched in Arb, there’s a lot of use in pallet wood! 

Those are pretty trees pp, do you lift the apples..? No I’ve not got a tin, it’s a very crumpled metal tube. I might ask Cissie for a ruling when I’m speaking to her on Sunday. 

Dusty knows I’m only being funny, he’d not do anything so major without being in the right first. Sadly being wrong doesn’t always stop neighbours of a certain stripe… 

Talking of sitting on the fence, my weathers the same. It’s shouldn’t be allowed to be sunny and rainy, pick one and stick to it dagnammit 🙄

Ah, a metal germolene tube, I never thought of that. Mine is plastic with white cream. Still smells similar to the pink stuff I think 🤔 

I’ve been digging in the garden again, even though I said I wasn’t going to because of my blister. I was serenaded by the robin ❤️ so it was worth the pain.



My new rhubarb patch isn't looking good at all 😕



There’s a cute flower (I hope) growing in amongst it, so one positive thing at least...

Blooming T & M sent an offer and I foolishly looked, but I just had to, honest Guv.

Now on the way are

Aquilegia, Mrs Scott - cos my seeds are no shows and I need at least one Grannies Bonnet

Achillea millefolium 'Cerise Queen' - cos it was only a quid

Blackberry 'Black Cascade' - it's for DD so she can sit on patio and pick some this year

Lavender 'Exceptional' New one 2023, for the volunteer pot I was wondering what to plant in there, it's a white one, and sort of local as well

Your rhubarb does look poorly, could it be something in the soil, do you think? But as I'm a serial rhubarb killer, perhaps someone without Viking fingers [for pointing the way to the nearest fiord] would be best to answer.

Your pretty flower, could it be Toad Flax? I have it and like it, but it's one of those wild weed or not flowers depending on preferences.

I can't see anything like that rhubarb on the net, I trawled images and did some searches.

From what I saw it says feed with BFB to give it strength to fight it.

And the crab apple blossom. You can see why they are planted by so many.

Most of our blossom trees are finished now and it's wildflowers in the hedgerows coming on a pace.

I had to pick a leaf off my cherry already. Full of those black bugs sucking the life out of it.

I put the leaf and bugs in the kitchen bin. Just hoping I don't get up tomorrow and the kitchen is swarming with the little blighters

On the other hand I saw this today. One way to keep your garden full of flowers with no maintenance.!
