A bright morning here for a change.😀 Over the past few days we've had to endure mist and drizzle before getting our free vitamin D.

Yesterday, while the power cut was on, I decided to cut the hedge between us and Mr Canute. Eventually it will go, but the new hedge, 2.5m from the boundary, isn't ready yet. Bindweed is still trying to cross no man's land between them. I managed to hoik most of it away. 😐️

Meanwhile, I've also been collecting seeds. They've been added to the stream bed just above Mr C's dam. 😉His potential sale fell through, so it looks like we shall have him a while yet. Can't say I'm sorry, as the children who came with the putative buyers were horrendously noisy, having been put in the garden for an hour while the adults failed to negotiate successfully. 😏

After cutting the hedge, I had a quiet 10 minutes lying under the spindle tree in the sunshine, watching the Greater Spotted Woodpecker ferreting insects out of our dead wych elm. It was so peaceful….and then Mr King started up his road roller and began thrumming and squeaking his way around his field again. I think he's trying to create a mini golf course. 🙄

'Shopping' for me today.😉 Mrs Dusty has had 3 days out on the trot. OK, one was for her speed awareness course, but that was when she left me the job of finding the dead mouse and hoovering inside the sofas in case it was there, so hers was still the better deal. It was actually in a different room, but smells have a strange way of travelling, and the sofas needed a good spring-clean. Cat has been admonished about the mice, so produced a vole shortly after! 😆

This is the semi circular pea frame I made, rather late. Half the mangy toots have died off. In the background original courgettes are still just about producing, while the new recruits are flowering, but have mouldy leaves.🤔

Just refreshed and found your post 2p. Hope you had a good day in our fair county, even if our roads are naff.

The clematis would have to compete with a winter honeysuckle and strong west winds, but it would be worth a try. 😉

I like that frame idea Dusty 😍 it would look good with peas and a sunken pot of mint in the middle.

If I can find enough of the materials in small quantities I might give that a go. Being such a small garden decorative ideas are good ones.

I usually put small canes in a crisscross fashion for the tomatoes but the weather didn't comply this year.
