Regarding wrong patient, etc. Isn't that why they magic marker your leg/ arm/ tum etc while you are awake before opening you up / chopping bits off?

With a dry day ahead I was back to watering this morning, just the must do ones now, such as the last of the tomatoes & the mildewed dahlias to swell the tubers for winter snooze

Reported the missing squished parcel to FG, the robot replied and told me to check the FAQ, plus, as a robotic wind up, provided a link to planting instructions 😟. Squished parcels are not in FAQ. FG robot assures me one of their friendly team will "get back to me".

I expect they will "Reach out" and "Touch base" align internally, pick this up with the relevant team, and circle back to me in due course, at which point hopefully we can close the loop and move this forward. *

OT, I now have another, non plant, Evri parcel MIA, parcel tracking tells me it's taking longer than expected, no s++t Sherlock !. Any bets on how long before I get the "sorry we broke it" message?

Only gardening may be get the fleece off the apple before any rain arrives, now I've picked the fruit. And pick some of the self sown cherry toms before rain & slugs

I've managed to smear some seeds out of Paul Robeson, more meaty than seedy. I do like the flavour though. But not a long keeper, he soon goes flabby and not one you'll find in a shop. One on next year's sowing list

Evri's robot wasn't particularly polite to me, Farway. I told it repeatedly I'd collected my purchase, but it kept insisting I come quickly to do what I'd done.😒 Its final message threatened that it would have the item collected and sent back, so I told it to do that, and all was well. 🙂

The swallows have definitely left us. None seen since the 22nd, when I counted exactly 20 on the wires. The majority went much earlier, having had a successful summer. 😊 No sign of any hedgehogs on the night camera either. It's picking up blackbirds, coming for an early evening drink, and occasional cats passing, so we know it's working.

The grapevine tells me no one seems interested in our planning application. Good! 😃 I've learned from it we're now in a beaver protection zone.😮 That's hilarious, given the lack of water in the stream, which I walked along this morning in daps (or plimsolls / pumps if you're not West Country.) I emptied about 100 rotten tomatoes there, just above Mr C's dam, so guess what will be growing freely downstream in 2027.🤣

Meanwhile, I've only partially cleared the huge area of wild tomatoes growing in the compost area. Some are now edible, including some pear-shaped ones. Those are a mystery, as we've never grown anything like them. 🤔

Another mystery was spotted in a pot of something dead today. It's a dark-leaved Agastache with dark flowers. Again, we've not had one of those. I've potted it, taken a wee cutting too, and I'll get a photo when it grows larger.

Tonight it was our turn for the mackerel to shoal….👇️

Phew! Finally got the badger run somewhat cleared. The damaged gate tied up with wire and some promised cuttings selected.

Did a quick hard watering with a hose pipe while I'm still allowed.

That's some haul of plants you've got going for free Dusty 😀 I'm still finding the odd tomato plant coming up where you least expect it. I'll keep them. They're sturdy and something may come of them. If it does it's a keeper seed wise because growing ina hedge with no watering 😲

I've exhausted myself after 4 days of activity and hip muscles starting to protest so it's a rest tomorrow, common sense, so it would be helpful if it rains. I have to take a friend to hospital Monday so that's out too. Probably just as well, but I did say I'd drop her off and go to the garden centres while she was getting plastered 😉
