I would try and get a mediocre photo from my phone but don’t know how to get it to my tablet !

Indeed. Or can you take the photo on your tablet?
Store It in a file or note where it is then click on the photo icon on here and Browse. See if you can find it.
May post a walking photo. It has heather flowering which I guess is ot and would cheer up the day.
Was going to look for a radio to plug my kindle in and llisten to gardners question time then realised I have one but needs digging out. So that's another job.
Just put my dying chrysanths pots out in the rain. How come they get attacked by all and sundry where the ones planted out don't?
The paving treatment is holding up well. Need to do the other half but it has to be dry......
Boring pic of both sides to follow.
Brighter now but still raining.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

It’s still here, Dusty. The pic I posted yesterday was actually taken on the 4th October. This is how it looks today, with a lovely blue sky and just a few fluffy clouds (OT 😉)...

I think the coloured heathers are bit freaky, you couldn’t give me one never mind charge me ha haa!I do like your sunflower pp, I hope it lasts ages
Still raining. They’ve all had a look out the window and updated themselves to say it’s raining. Only Ventusky got it right on their own, bless ‘em.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -

[they look out the window]I have just prowled around on their webcams, sun's out in Tramore, Ireland and surfers are on the beach & some in the sea, must be mad

(For me, that's go into the photos on the phone > pick the one I want > down the bottom corner there's a box with an arrow which is the 'send' icon > then I have the option to text or email or do some other things I don't know, so I pick email and type my own address).
Getting home: the reader's digest version:
I couldn't sleep, so I decided sod it and forwent my free breakfast to get to the station for 5am for the first train. I figured to give myself as much time as needed to get to where I wanted to be and reduce the risk of being stranded somewhere in the dark. First thing I realised was that the people I was talking to and asking for directions at the stations (in black jackets) didn't actually work for the train company - they were sitting at the information booth charging their phones because they were homeless and they just open the station up at night (apparently with no security that I could find!). But the blokes were nice enough and knew as much as anyone about what was going on.
I eventually found someone that worked for Transport for Wales (the train company that replaced Arriva I think). The 5:20 (Holyhead service) was cancelled, but was told the Manchester train would be running at 5:40ish. Waited. Waited. Train came in and we got excited... but was told no that's not our train. Then yes, that is our train... then no, get off again
Eventually (at gone 6:30) there was a train - but now it was only going to Wilmslow (later changed to Crewe), and nothing was going further north than Crewe. Some debate amongst the staff and passengers (one of which was a brilliant chap who was a self described 'rail enthusiast' who seemed to know more about the routes and station layouts than the guard) if I should get off at Shrewsbury - a collective decision (literally as we were pulling into Shrewsbury) that I shouldn't and should stay on to Crewe. It was at this point (roughly 9:30) a nice lady going home from uni for her birthday gave me some cake; In return (iykwim), I loaned her my power bank to charge her phone so she could call her mum to arrange for a lift.
Once at Crewe, further debate as to my onward path was had. After much consideration (well, a rapid listing of possible options that flowed through my caffeine starved ears) my choices were Warrington BQ (and a possible lunch at Ikea) with the possibly of a friend coming to collect me, or Runcorn (which, with a quick change in direction at Helsby) might possibly be able to get to Chester from the other side, and there I could get onto the train that went home! As per me, I opted for the route that didn't require me to ask a favour and headed of to Runcorn at shortly before 10.
Everything then proceeded relatively smoothly, and I was home for 12:30 - a mere 7 and a half ours after starting outPriorities then were boots off, kettle on, and a nap until the cat woke me up an hour ago checking I was alive and able to feed her.
OT: Throughout the weather was relatively dry, some spitting, but very dark with heavy looking cloud - as late as 9am it felt like the sun hadn't come up quite yet. Some impressive views. I didn't get many shots (mostly of a very cute dog) but this was representative of what I could see:
I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.7 -
Oh, and I was just sending some complements via social media for specific station staff who were very helpful and saw this:Someone told me I post about the weather too much here. Pretty frosty message to receive to be honest. Makes me feel quite gloomy. I try to think of other topics but sometimes I get brain fog. It’s hard keeping everyone happy, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows writing this feed, some people think it’s a breeze. Anyway, I won’t go on, let’s keep the atmosphere light, I don’t want the situation to snowball.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.7

So glad you're home. What a nightmare combined with work.
Cosy night in for you I hope.
An chance that future travels will be more predictable?

First look is an 'oooooh' but the second is 'weird'.And not realistic at all. Did you ever see a 'Just Stop Oil' protester looking this good? It can't be done on a diet of kale and oat drink!

wort said:@Dustyevsky Love the rainbow 🌈 photo, it would take me ages and I could not get a shot like that.I bet you could if you lived here. It must be to do with orientation and the valley, but we see them regularly and always in more or less the same place.I see Abs didn't need a LUT for that brilliantly atmospheric flood photo. Not much doing here. After a morning waffling in the village market, I made one of 8 windows to block the side ventilation in the polytunnel and vine weevil-proofed some more vulnerable plants. It was tipping down when I entered the village hall and bright sunshine when I came out, but the solar performance today was patchy and not sustained through the afternoon.
