If they can produce something of god enough taste and quality and goodness (and don't be lying to me on the packet about what's inside) then I'll be all for it. But the bigger picture needs carefully examining too. What'll happen to all the coos? Just kept for milking or given up on entirely and only make appearances at 'petting zoos'? I'd not be up for that like. I'd be alright with eating critters and bugs for protein too, it's just a change in mindset really.I'll remove the links later, but I'll leave this one because the owners are maintaining this place in the spirit in which it was set up: https://www.woolleyanimals.co.uk/ And their surname really is Woolley!Doubtful but I wonder if they are related to Shep Wolley? Shep is well known around here, so well knowneven I have seen him perform, he is ex RN hence the Navy & Pompey link

Just popping my head round the door to say I spotted this very interesting article about dahlias in the 1830s and thought others might like a look Planting Diaries | Spitalfields Life4

It’s been dry and sunny today and I’ve spent another day in the garden trying to get it sorted before the winter months.
Couple of pics...
I couldn’t resist the last one 😈 I think it was a gull’s backside... 😁'A watched potato will never chit'...8 -

Bladdy hell 2p you're having no luck with the weather. Maybe plan an indoor day then it'll be sunny and lovely outta badness.
I'm glad I didn't answer your roses question cos I'd have got it wrong. I thought yellow leaves (in general) meant over-watered. My roses are getting a tinge to them now but we did have all that rain... So they're dying down for winter, that's alright then
There were a couple of farm-themed attractions where I used to live, they were endlessly busy even on grotty days. I spose if that helps them to stay afloat, well ok then. And cheaper than going to dismaland or alton towers etc! I can't remember where I've got this from now, but don't alpacas love going for a walk? Getting a lead on and away you go, they truly love it
I only clicked a couple of the songs on your link Farway, but I reckon i could stand a far bit of him. Very Chas n Dave ish and jolly. I wonder if they are related, if you go far enough back....
I like your dahlia link gf, that was a good article and I'm not especially into dahlias. The plates were ....sumptuous....(?) And imagine a hot air balloon of them built around a chandelier, that's amazingThose were the days when we used to do stuff because it was hard, then you'd get a sense of achievement that you'd done it.
They're beautiful clear photos pp, and I love the gull's bumI feel another front page appearance coming on...
Mild out there this morning, damp and still. Better than yesterday like with all that thick fog. I'm not a fan of fog, it's invasive and heat-sucking and breathless. We got weather warnings yesterday about more desperate rain coming, from 0300-1600 today. Said the drunkards. Not a drop out there at all, doesn't even smell like it'll rain to me. I'm at the dentist at 9 so it'll pour straight out of the heavens at 20 mins before that, just because. You heard it here firstI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -

pp's photos were also vibrant and I wonder what that fuchsia in the first one is. If I can find my similar one, we could contrast and compare, but I don't think mine's as good.
The 1200 dahlias as a balloon also taxed my brain, just imagining it, gf. Being the C19th, I noticed you could only be a member if you were male.We still have a club like that in my village!
Car MoT day today. Blimmin' headlight bulb went two days ago and I know the LH wiper is rubbish, but I don't look through that side! Those are the least of my worries. I predict rear suspension issues, and probably something obscure I've never heard of.The drunks are saying not too bad a day, but look out for nighttime deluges. I can cope with that. No signs of frost, but my last courgette has given up and joined the choir invisible."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity4 -
Bucketed down last night! Sounded like someone was trying to break in.
Then the lights kept flickering and I thought the power was going out. Glad it wasn't Halloween.
Seems to have dried out on the road and I'm planning a walk in the woods, just hoping the floor doesn't moveI won't be filming it if it does.
Garden still looking fine but too soggy to work on....I need to deal with the collapsed climbers but they're a cave of wet. Suppose I could get all waterproofed up but not inclined along with the digging and screwing.
It's 8c which is low for us this time of year but theres no wind so it feels ok.
No photos yet as I have to use the laptop and I know once I wind that up it will be displacement activity for hours rather than ringing the gas, elec and water boards.
I may arrange an early mot. Can't be worse than Dustys. Mine's due Jan 1st which is a miserable time of year to do it. Fingers crossed for you D.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Arb that was some journey, and I thought my extra 2 hours from the Lake District home was trying . Lovely pic of the water on the fields.
even better a cat pic 😍🐈.
Sunday was glorious and I went for a walk with SIL and her dog through the plantations and back in time for lunch . V forcast of non stop rain today seems correct so far, been awake most of the night so got up early and curled up on the settee. Need to go to town for an appointment around 11. FIL funeral tomorrow but the weather is looking dry ,so finger crossed.

Orchids in flower now. Random other pics for colour on this gloomy day. It would make sense if the pic uploads,😂Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5 -
I'm struggling a bit with my concentration at the moment, so apologies if I miss anything...
The fuchsia is beautiful, isn't it Dusty. The flowers are so delicate - they look like little fairies. No idea of the name, unfortunately.
I loved the berries on the unknown bush too - they're big berries and a lovely bright colour. I would imagine the blackbirds will be feasting on them, which reminds me, I'm so pleased your blackbirds are coming back to your garden, YBE. And glad you liked the gull's bum pic haha. Shame about my mossy roof, but it is supposed to be better for the roof to leave it there, or so I've heard...
Another dry and pleasant looking day here - my phone said 12 degrees first thing. We had a frost yesterday morning and I still haven't brought my Calamondin inside.
Fingers crossed for those with appointments today.'A watched potato will never chit'...4
