I reckon we do well per head of population on here for making the front page
Your ferret (?) has gotta be next Dusty - such a pretty face and I like his white edged ears. Unless 2p’s rainbow has the next go… 😊
The council thing has changed recently (I should’ve checked before posting, apologies all) they do mot’s now and charge for them rather than giving it a once over for free so you can go elsewhere for an mot. My bad for not reading it through before sharing!
A frost and a beautiful sunrise pp.… no I'm not jealous at allI like that little car Farway. If you want something but not electric how about a Copen? I’ve half-heartedly wanted one for years, but then I got my Swift so that’s me now cos I can’t afford anything else. Nearly at 100k miles but I reckon it’s only halfway through its life if I keep it in fine fettle. If it dies on me it’ll be Shanks’ mareI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
I am here in Kent and last week the weather was surprisingly pleasant I was able to get out in the garden and tend to my veg patch. This week not so much - grey clouds rolling in and starting to spit in the days. Not looking forward to the clocks going back either...4

Yes, he's a ferret with no name yet...and far too quiet. We've decided he needs more simulation, so he's being brought into our living area several times a day, much to the cats' disdain!Normally, ferrets make very good pets, because if there are two, they amuse each other, and on long car journeys they soon get bored and just sleep. In fact, they sleep a lot during the day anyway We can't put this little guy with Jasper yet, because he'd want to play and be far too rough. Yes, they do have one down-side, and that's their smell, which is why ours are normally outdoors. Those handling them also have “
ferret clothes!”
So far, this 'unprecedented' (BBC) rain is missing us. I would describe conditions here as “a bit wet” and there are no puddles on the drive. Looks like Farway may be receiving more, though, and maybe DigSunPap too. Welcome.Four out of five scientists agree with those who pay for their research.4 -
Welcome DigSunPap
Well your veg patch will be fully watered now eh!
I showed himself your ferret pic, know what he said? You're not havin' one, they hum. So I'll nip over to the Oracle later and see if she knows someone with one so I can borrow it for a day
Everyone alright after Babet blew through? We got a lot of rain but not desperate I don't think, and the winds were gusting 40mph only for the couple of hours around midnight. I think the top of Scotland got it worse and has the worse to come...
Mild out there this morning again, 13' and calm-ish. Not bad today, rain starting again tonight and desperate altogether tomorrow. They say.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -

Mild out there this morning again, 13' and calm-ish. Not bad today, rain starting again tonight and desperate altogether tomorrow. They say.We had much worse on Tuesday for wind, and the rain was moderate overall. Thunderstorms predicted for later today, but fine enough now, which is good, because Mrs Dusty and I are at a hospital appt this morning. Her wooden leg needs another application of Rentokil. As for tomorrow, which has been showing good all week, that's now wall-to-wall rain, so a walk I'd planned looks like it won't happen.Sunday looks better, but can we trust them that far ahead?

Morning Bluey. They keep changing their minds today but sunny spells, rain today with thunderstorms from lunch time and folling days rain.
It did come down in buckets yesterday afternoon.
Hey I can hear a blackbird chuntering!!They're back
Will have to go and put out a new fat block. The pigeons and mice had the last one.

My greenhouse is being installed today, so I'm relieved that the wind has dropped. It looks like it's starting to rain, but hopefully the installers won't get too wet!4

You people with your sunrises and thunderstorms and blackbirds and greenhouses... that's it, I'm giving up entirely ha haa!
Sunday looks alright here too, mind Saturday doesn't look bad either, but we'll see what transpires nearer the time. Just for the record, the drunkards were closest with the right start time last night. The sobers and Ventusky said about 5 ish ish, drunkards said 10, and it started about 8.30 and it was fully going by 9. I think they throw a right answer in there now and again so they can't be written off entirely
Another application of Rentokil - I thought you were gonna say creosote Dusty. Jeez I used to love that smell
Take extra good care of your blackie 2p, even if it does mean feeding the pidgeons
And good luck with your greenhouse gb, I expect they're used to working in the rain?I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
Rain, it hammered down here last night, I was glad I had put my young pansies into a more sheltered spot earlier, they'd be washed awayWelcome DigSunPap, imagine a hand wave emoji hereDGD very wisely has fled South from her training near Aberdeen to a four-day gardening seminar near Pulborough, a bit of future job networking & training going on, she will be able to watch the awful weather due near Aberdeen, must be bad because they have started giving the amount in inches, always a sign of bad weather ahead when measurements are in EnglishIf anyone is interested, this weekend until Sunday midnight, DT Brown have seeds £1 packet, not all, but worth a look, Cobra climbing French normally £4.19 for a quid is good, and nice bean as well, and £1 cosmos for any new fansPlus free pack of trial seeds & labels. I have no connection but am satisfied customerOn this gloomy and soon to be wet again day, here's a pic from yesterday, my pyracantha in a bit of sunshineEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens8
