Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Here 2p (well everyone, actually) https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-mot/#hidden Seems they've recently updated it and it's a bit different now. Be careful to check the surrounding area to your area (itms). I can't remember now if I was in yorkshire or lincs when it first came out but it called me 'Midlands' 🙄
And here Dusty - Arb’s front page pic
I don't wanna shut up, I want a 7up and a 10p mix-up.5 -
Sounds perfect Bluey. A garage that doesn't have an agenda. But most of these things aren't near me, can't afford another test and the little red car will have been sold shortly
The patio cleaner seems to be working. I now have one end of the alley green free and the other green. But i was surprised how many varieties there were and I bought the smallest. When it stops raining and blowing I'll give that a go. Who doesn't like something that does the work for you with very little effort!
Rain has started but it's 11c so mild enough.
Just watching a little cane panel waving around when it's always been secure. It can do it's own thing though. Been a tough few weeks and I'm going to have a relaxing day reading and pottering, filing or painting as the mood takes me knowing that no one will be calling
Bulbs to be planted, veg beds to sort and plants to go in have to wait while the weather does its thing.
You can't have too many bulbs to cheer up the winter and herald spring.
I had a good chuckle last year. I've put more in each year and no longer have any idea where they are.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The stuff lovely neighbour uses is just spray on and leave to dry, she loves it.
The council mot’s are free, if you can find one near enough. Worth checking the surrounding area tabs imo.I could do with a ‘bulbs be here’ system… when I was planting mine I was digging up all sorts and I don’t remember what they are or how long they’ve been in
And stop driving past that little car!I don't wanna shut up, I want a 7up and a 10p mix-up.4 -

Frankly, I'd rather one with 45k miles at that age....and a service history, of course. Cars that have sat around, when they ought to be moving and drying out from the last drenching, aren't always worth the extra money.Right now, small second-hand cars are at premium prices, especially automatics, but one of our local YouTubers says in North Devon money's tight, so the sub-£3500 market is most intense. He's honest and we bought our automatic from him at a sensible price. The bodywork isn't the best, but around here where you're caked in mud half the year that hardly matters! This is his channel. Definitely car nerdy, with clickbait headlines, but you get to see the used car business from the other side: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT_S4n3zhY8gvUY04GVlz3gPersonally, I'd love a bright red Suzuki Swift, but practicality means the next one will have to be as boring as the one I have now, which at 142k miles is getting close to needing a new clutch!

Looks like a very wet day ahead, so it will be into the workshop or the polytunnel for woodwork sessions! We are not getting some of those nastier winds you folk up north are told to expect, but given our power cut yesterday, we maybe deserve an easier time. The rivers are already well-filled so I'll keep my eyes on the cameras.I've no wonderfully atmospheric photos like that one of 2p's or detailed blow-up's like Arb's bees, so I'll have to go for cute. Here's the new addition to the family:EDIT: Thanks, Bluey for showing me it was Arb's pic of the Echinacea that made the front page. Poppy, it's a he, very young, and seems much quieter than the other one.P.S. Council MoT centres aren't free. As I've learned recently, very few council services are now free! :|There is a standard cost, set nationally, and linked to the national vehicle database. As soon as a test facility logs your car in, they have to charge that fee. The re-test, if you need one, is free, provided certain rules are observed. End of sermon.7

What a lovely pic, Dusty. He/she looks a little cross-eyed
We had frost and a beautiful sunrise yesterday - it caught me and the Calamondin by surprise - hopefully the Calamondin will survive, but I think I should probably bring it indoors now...

Aww Dusty, what a cutie! congrats Arbitrary too...No bulbs here, but i will try some more grasses next year I think in the front. Need to cut the grass today for bin day tomorrow, and trimmed the front olive a bit , it was bashing into the windows. I'm still waiting for the right time to dig it up. Maybe next month. Not much gardening happening here, still have the greenhouse pots to sort, there are a few tomatoes left that need taking off, and the compost to put in a large bucket or two to rot for the front garden as mulch next year. Need to get some bamboo canes for making a frame for the apple tree too.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi4

Wind's getting up & rain has started, supposed to be Storm thingy on it's way North to drown DGD, we just get the wind and some rain before it clears off oop NorthI used to get my MOT done by the Gas Board years ago, their transport depot was next to where I worked, so not only honest but handy. Actually where I then worked was handy for lots of things as it was on a large trading estate, with people like Lucas for starters & batteries, and more importantly always employed an "Old Jim" who knew everything that was needed to keep cars going on forever until car cancer took themNice rainbow 2P, but Dusty steals the Aww vote this weekDustyevsky said:twopenny said:Car hasn't been mot'd but inspected by 3 garages as to whether it will pass. Each garage gave a different answer and what needs doing so I'm really none the wiserDecided to hang onto it because I'm finally getting trades and furniture after 4yrs from the move so I'll take advantage and keep my fingers crossed for the car.I did find a beautiful little flame red one, 10yrs old but 18000mls and all the gadgets including 2 cup holders

There's a car sales near e who strikes me as something similar, bought a couple from him & he seems honest, but then that is the first lesson for any salesman isn't it?I fancy one of these baby electric ones, that look like the old Isetta three wheelers, completely impractical, especially as I don't have accessible charging facilities, no driveway or juice in my garage, but for where I go it would be idealGardening, managed to collect the dried runners yesterday and all set for next year, scrumped some apples from next door, they only let them drop & rot so doing them a favour reallyMy buddleia is confused, thinks it's summer again, but looked nice in the sun
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens6 -
Thanks for the thoughts Dusty. Yes, it's the driving over the moors, pull ins with lumps of rock and dips not to mention brambles. And if it gets a dent someone knocks it out with a hammer for a pint of beer.
A smart red one it would be a full on work. But otherwise maybe relief from worry about the next mot for years.
That little guy is so cute. Front page for sure!
It's a bit windy and a bit wet down here. Just October weather. Not the full on gales and floods the drama queens gave.
Maybe some more windfall cooking apples going begging though

I agree Dusty wins no contest - does the little kit have a name?
Looking at the 'Tusky app again and it says we're expecting 17/18 degrees tomorrow... but I think this might be the last week. I'm seeing a lot of 6's as I skim the 7 day forecast. I'll leave it to weekend, but I think it might be time to pick those squash.
Am I right that they'll do their hardening and finish off ripening on the window okay?I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.3
