Thanks wort :) It'll all be worth it in the end I think. I do miss my old garden though, it was easy cos it was small :D

Lots of blossoms and things round here too, it's heart-warming to see. Lovely neighbour has an acer, it's only wee but it's happy and leafy and very attractive.

If you need tomatoes come knock on my door - if all (or even most) of my seeds come up I'll be knee-deep in the beggars ha haa!

Rain this morning, steady drizzle, and today was supposed t be the sunnier day his week, lying toads :s

At least I managed to get my Hot Lips cuttings potted on yesterday, now they're out in the drizzle getting use to life. There were at least ten, so not too worried if one or two snuff it

Complaint about amaryllis sent to T & M, robot acknowledged, and they’ll be in touch
Very tempting fruit tree offer this morning in my inbox from them, two for £12 + P & P. But I have resisted this time

Jobs for today once it warms up, sow a few of the saved seeds from the Asda sweet plum cherry tom, and pot on two African violets that are suffering on the kitchen window sill. I grew them from cuttings ages ago, so would like to keep them alive

Sounding like me & YBE will become tomato suppliers to the stars

And now, the proud Granddad spot, ta ra, trumpets!
My granddaughter came second in the Western regional final of Young Horticulturist of the Year, held at RHS Rosemoor, yesterday. :)
As well as kudos & certificate, she got £100 prize money
With this and Chelsea in May, I'll soon be needing to make an appointment to see her

More good news, update just arrived on my T & M complaint, seems I'm not the only one, copy & pasted

In the case of our amaryllis collection, we have recently become aware of a potential issue with the colour of the flowers and are working closely with our supplier to identify the cause of the problem. Until we can confidently isolate the affected units of stock, we are reluctant to send a replacement order in case of a repeat of the problem.

A refund has been issued and will be returned to the original payment method within 3-5 working days

At least it was quick & trouble free

Well that's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick :)

ETA - just shows it's worth complaining too.

Well hi everyone. It's good to see everybody around  :)

Wet and cold here-again. Yesterday a blast of sun so I painted the false door for the fence. Then it bucketed down from nowhere and hasnt stopped since  :s
Wasshing soaked and its still raining today.
Was hoping to do my seeds. Usually done in February but that hasn't happened for the last couple of years due to the weather.

Farway brilliant news. You must be so proud. Your genes obviously  :D
Wellies, always plant. You never know what the future holds. Or could be a joy for the next owners. Or you could dig them up and take them with you.
Wort, you reminded me that I have some unsuccessful peonies somewhere. Bought a tiny one from my old house. Massive 50yr old plant that was a joy. The new owners dumped breeze blocks on it. Not a plant or tree left in the garden.

Anyhoos, can't go on the garden and too cold to work in the garage or indoors. Will walk off some calories looking in other peoples gardens for  inspiration for an improved view from the kitchen window. See if poundland have onion sets in yet.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

@Farway, that's brilliant news for granddaughter and also the refund

I bought two pear trees from T&M a few years ago. They were about 14" tall. I know they say plant pears for your heirs but these might fruit for my heirs heirs so I think wise to avoid the apple offer

Today was fine and the sun was trying to come through but it was so cold. I filled four troughs (found at the side of the road) with home made compost and planted six strawberries in each. They were new last year so I'm reluctant to leave them.
I knocked a leaf off my last streptocarpus so I made some cuttings. Worth a try although the leaf is in poor condition.

I agree the price of plants is rocketing. I always look what's on offer at Lidl. Today the fruit bushes that come in approx 12" tall boxes were £6.99. I must be out of touch because I thought theses were about £3 last time I looked

House hunting has stopped. I'm going to live in my VW camper van! - If only - 3 sons in 3 countries, I could travel around between them all but she's too old. I was looking in Devon/Dorset but last month my DS3 found his job is moving 'up north' so 4 hour journey.
Love living in a village in the country side

Wow Farway, congratulations to your granddaughter how wonderful.

It was sunny here Sunday so after reading on here was inspired to go out, I tidied up the front lawn edges and did a bit of weeding and chopping. Had my sandwich in the garden, then remembered some rudbeckia gloriosa seeds and decide to scatter them in and see what happens. After a bit of tidying in the back garden , I gave the lawn I quick haircut.
Before heading up to shower, and a little walk to see my brother, calling at my sisters to give them a cutting from the evergreen hydrangea  seemannii. My back is protesting and I may need a painkiller at work today, but I will wait and see ,don’t like to take them unnecessarily.
    hmm fruit trees 🧐

I've never heard that saying about pears. That's bad news cos one of the 2 trees that lovely neighbour gave me is a pear... :(

Cold here this morning, there's condensation on the windows for the first time in a good while. They reckon it'll be warm again in a couple of days. They say. It was quite sunny yesterday when we picked up himself's mother to go for ice-cream (she's an ice-cream addict), soon as we got to the place it drizzled for 1+1/2 seconds and then lashed down.

Living in your van sounds very romantic wellies, and the good weather's coming... be a good time to do it I reckon

Will the paint on your false door survive after all the rain 2p or did you bring it inside to do it? It's a beggar when you finally get round to a job then it all turns against you....

My dad had an Acer in his front garden, stunning it was weeping branches and dissected purple leaves ,the new owner has flagged it for cars both sides. :'(
