Your new old camera seems to be working ok!
I bet that wheelbarrow regrets getting drunk and falling asleep on the lawn....I never buy new cameras. There seem to be many sitting in cupboards and never used. Most likely, it's old shop stock. It's the same with computers. Aware of problems ahead with the Chinese semiconductor industry, I bought a 'brand new' 4-year-old i5 computer a week or two ago, just for surfing. It's the size of a thick paperback, does everything the other one can do, but uses half the leccy, so it'll pay for itself. The price? £70!Anyway, good depth of field effect there, Farway. As for the barrow, it gets drunk every night at this time of year just after bringing the logs up to the house. If it didn't fall over like that, it would often be full of water next morning. We are into melt-down here now.4 -
So I was surprised to see the snow on the hills when I set out today.........thankfully at sea level it was just wet but my tomatoes have finally given up to a grey mess. Still a good innings though.Still no desire to go out gardening, it's bitter out there even with no wind.Farway, I joined the local U3A camera group and love it. Really good seeing what everyone else sees and gives you ideas. I think you should get a wider audience for your photographs they are so good

Which part of the country are you Woolsery ???Narnia, otherwise known as the middle bit of Devon the tourists don't find.It could be anywhere this morning, though, because we have thick mist covering everything, ice underfoot and there's nothing moving yet on the road.If there's no thaw, it looks like not much will be done here for a day or two. Daughter had to be rescued from work at Exeter yesterday due to problems with the points on the railway, although there was no snow down there.0 -
Another very hard frost this morning, certainly not a gardening day, but I have watered the streptocarpus on my window sill if that countsPlus I poked my nose & a long camera lens out of an upstairs window and the photo below is this morning, hibiscus frosted seed pods2P, thanks for comments re photos, I was in U3A photo group years ago, but it got dominated by a couple of local camera club blokes who just loved the sound of their own voices and demonstrating how superior and knowledgeable they were, which convinced me that my long held belief about avoiding camera clubs was correctThat U3A group folded because us lesser mortals just stopped goingI do post some pics on some local photo groups, but more for local interest, churches for instance, not photography, same as here, more for gardening related than photographs for their own sakeAnyway, here's some frozen hibiscus seed pods taken with me poking long lens out of an upstairs window this morning, using my new /old cameraEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens6

Love that pic Farway. Will the seeds survive…?Cold here this morning, but not as cold as yesterday morning. A decent frost overnight, but yesterday it was icy ❄️
The one weather app reckons sunshine all day, the other says cloud. They both say we won’t get above 0’c… 😒I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1 -

as I walked by the same shrub in someone's garden, so I assume these frost beating traits will be in the genes

The snow has gone, i fixed the thermometer today and it says 8 but the gentle icy breeze says about 2c.
I think I may have the current covid strain and going out yesterday has set me back so no gardening.
Besides it's cold and damp.
Shame Farway, but understandable. Our group is lovely. Only offer help if asked.
I see my new Helebore is already budding. That's annoying because I wanted to move it this spring. It's white and purple and wanted to put it next to the black purple. Trying to create space for the Daphne to spread and sucession of flowers.
But as an impulse purchase in a sale and new variety I should just be grateful it's tough.

I ventured out just before midday today and spotted this roe deer feeding in the meadow, the grass must have been very crunchy!

Morning, all.....I told you we live in Narnia, and here's the proof:The youngsters were out yesterday morning, looking for a Christmas tree. Every year it's a little harder, because more of the Nordmann Firs are sprouting-up, and we prefer the good old Norway Spruce. Nevertheless, they found one.Good to see you were out & about too, GF. Maybe it wasn't a day for spending a lot of time outside, but the fresh air is rarely harmful to us here in Narnia, or indeed in other parts of the UK.
