Gonna be a chilly one tonight folks. Keep warm 💚Just my opinion, no offence 🐈0

Chilly here already. Getting colder as the days go by too says my weather app. And every time I look at it the snow gets further away! 😒I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.0

Absent without leave yesterday because I was out much of the day and no gardening took place. However, before I left, a nice guy from the village arrived to finish off re-laying the neighbour's driveway, which had become very potholed over the years. It's on our property, so technically it belongs to us, but the neighbours' landlady is very responsible. Anyway, we did a deal; we repair her garden fence, and she sorts the drive. Now all I have to do is catch the guy who does our fencing. He waved and tooted when he passed me mowing the verge on Tuesday, but significantly, failed to stop. I think he knows I have a few dozen posts waiting to go in!You can see our nerines have just about had it. Last night's frost will have finished that finale to the year. That whole bed needs a makeover!3

First hard frost overnight, bye bye nasturtiums, dahlia foliage & castor oil plants, all did well this year despite drought & heat, and if I sow the self seeds of the castor oil it'll be rinse & repeat in 2023Supposed to be very cold for the weekend, but I may get round to removing the dead frosted foliage if feeling brave enoughEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Frosty and crisp here too. I'm almost glad my garden is just some grass and dying weeds cos I don't have to worry about sorting or rescuing anything
Be a different story next year tho, I'll be on here with all kinds of questions....I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1 -
Sunny again and cool.
Had the gutters seen to yesterday (fingers crossed) but they've compacted the wet lawn around with their big feet, the one that I worked on for so long! C'est la vie.
Good day to get something done but I'm out again so it will have to look scruffy a bit longerI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

In and out again today, but I did manage to push a few barrow-loads down to the wild garden. I'm increasing the depth of soilon the slope there, where I hid a lot of stones and clay etc.
I'm also hoping to plant it up as I go, but thrusting hands into cold, wet soil isn't going to happen at present!
One of the things we did today was collect the 8' galvanised water trough ordered a while ago from the farming suppliers. It's our Christmas present to us.Unlike most things nowadays, it turned out cheaper than expected, but maybe there's a price rise coming....otherwise why order in 10 of what I was told would be a special, 'paid in advance' item? No small ones in the yard, just these whoppers. Anyway, ours will make a nice 'above ground' pond and take over from the old tin bath.
Looked at the weather forecast after coming indoors at 16.30 and promptly went out again! Apparently, we're keeping cloud cover until the early hours, then the sky clears, and it plummets down to -4c. The outdoor complex of pipes and taps has been duly drained-down.Wall-to-wall sunshine tomorrow. Don't discard the thermal long Johns, though!PS. YBE, I've decided to bite my tongue over on that other thread. The nice OP means well and doesn't need hassle from me!2 -
Morning Gardening Peeps 👋🙋♀️
Another cold one, actually had frost here for the past 2 nights - something we rarely see, apparently due to being close to the sea ..... 🤷♀️
And for the week ahead - minus temps at night and barely above zero daytimes ...... the coldest months are usually Jan, Feb and March ...... let's hope the cold doesn't last through 'til then ❄️❄️❄️⛸️2 -
Which bit woolsery, the currency thing or the avian flu thing? I mentioned you for the avian flu cos I knew you'd have the answers. I think the currency thing is interesting, I'd never heard of the central digital wotsit before. That's what I like about this forum, there's people out there with their head of stuff you've never even dreamed of. But then some folks don't wanna be told anything different from what they already know, I guess.
Sorry that's not very weathery or gardeningy! Must try harder.
It's bladdy cold here this morning. It rained for a couple of hours in the evening so now everything's iced up. Can't even open me bin lid! I'm pleased I've only gotta nip out for a little top-up food shop, then I'll get all my pressies wrapped and posted before that all turns to hell as well.
One good thing about this cold is it really clears the air. The moon and stars and planet/s are so bright and visible, I love it!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2 -

That's what I like about this forum, there's people out there with their head of stuff you've never even dreamed of. But then some folks don't wanna be told anything different from what they already know, I guess. There was some genuine interest in the down-sides of a Central Bank Digital Currency and the elimination of cash, which surprised me. When I've mentioned it before, folks have told me I'm a conspiracy nutter. Perhaps more people have witnessed how cash is gradually being made 'inconvenient.' They notice some deals are only available via apps on phones and things like that. Now they need to work out potential dangers if only digital money exists.....and it's not just what to do with that huge whisky bottle full of coppers!I didn't challenge the person who likened the avian flu regs to human lockdowns, implying such measures are so obviously beneficial, we should obey unquestioningly. I only pitched in after another poster had a go at them. It's still not quite 'mainstream' the lockdowns were a disaster, or there are direct links to some very serious consequences we're seeing now, so I was surprised no one challenged me on that.DB and I are following the chicken rules better than we followed the human ones. She works from female intuition and I look at scientific discourse. I won't say any more, but we came to the same conclusion!
