    Lovely Blue!
Still raining so no gardening but my little birds have come back!! Just passing through but daily. I miss watching them.

Not a good look that indoor tomato Farway. Ripening has halted in my garden but I live in hope.

Woolsery. How did you photograph the rain? Tripod? Fast shutter?

Gutter running into a bucket, not dripping and I'm using it to flush out the soil from the driveway drain. Bonus.....

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

'Rain' is a lot easier to shoot when it's hailstones! :D

  • Loving the pics 😊

I bought a couple of roses a wee while ago. They’re still in their tubs til I figure out what I’m for doing with the garden. They don’t look happy or healthy though… Next door has a wild (I think) rose and it’s in fine fettle! Lovely colour and a beautiful fragrance. Must see if I can get a pic so yous can see it.

But I’m not jealous. I’m really not. Not one bit.
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.
  • So here’s my unhappy roses (which were perfectly happy and in full fragrant bloom when I bought them)

….and here’s next door’s - pic taken over the fence with my arms at full stretch ha haa! But you get the idea.

  • Is that the best thing then? Systemic weed killer? I’m just pulling it up as it (and other weeds) appear…..

Oh and I hope you’re not waiting on me to answer your plant question 😁

Yes, but it's a bit late in the year. 'Systemic' weedkillers are taken in by the plant and inhibit their normal functioning: e.g. by closing down photosynthesis. Trouble is, in November there's not a lot of photosynthesis going on. Some plants draw back the nutrients in their leaves as they wither and disappear below ground in winter, so there's a chance they will absorb enough weed killer in that scenario to affect them negatively, even next year.

Another wet day and the gutter is still leakin massively despite all my ideas.

I have however got 7 ripe raspberries on a cane.
Well they're not on a cane now. They're in my tummy so no photo.

Blue, could you re pot the roses into larger pots? They look a bit  over wet. Good sturdy plants though. What are they?

  • Thanks Woolsery, I'll put it on my shopping list and have a go.

Twopenny the only larger pots I've got are buckets, which are currently catching drips from my leaking conservatory gutter. The roses were in great shape a few weeks ago when I bought them, lush foliage and a few flowers and buds. I thought they'd be ok in those tubs while I plant them in the spring. They're sat on the soil there cos that's where the few miserable rays of sun still reach. I'll put some big stones under them so they can drain a wee bit.
