Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Morning all, on World Wetlands Day ☺️ I like that one, they can have that.
I thought the helebores would be poisonous to sheep Dusty but I wasn't sure. it's a wonder we've any sheep at all with all the toxic things they could eat 🙄 I've got Great Escape in my head now, looking at your last pic 🙂
Thanks for the
strikeouttip Farway, quite simple is that 🙃 I don't know who sang that song - I'd have a wild guess with Dusty Springfield - and Forgiven makes me think Clint Eastwood 😄 The haggis calendar is quite good - I like the Springtime/Valentine's one, and if they took the pumpkins out of the Christmas one I'd like that too. The Summer beach one is good, but I'm not sure about the daffs/Autumn confection. Mind you can hardly even tell they used the same mountain range…I wonder what's up with your poor snowdrops 2p? 🤔A feed prolly wouldn't do them any harm. Is that fence post rescuable? Or is it the ersehole neighbour? Good you got some half decent weather though, if the place would dry out a bit that'd do rightly ☺️ I'm sorry I wasn't on TripAdvisor 20 years ago, that's good fun!
How you feeling this morning Less? Has your fogginess shifted through? 🤞
I hope you haven't frozen to death at work wort? All these emojis and they didn't give us the blue freezing face brrr one 😒
I had a near full day in the garden yesterday - it was dry and the sun came out! I got a pic and everything! I was only weeding really, ripping up that buttercup-y clover-y nonsense by the handful but it counts. I've bulbs coming up (not snowdrops though 😫) daffs and tulips I think. Quite mild out there now, bit damp cos it rained overnight but that's it for the day. Possibly.

As ever, read the comments 😆 (the good ones are all at the start tbh).

Another cold & grey morning, not raining is the best that can be said about it
YBE, ladybirds, hooray,, a sign of something I'm sure
Film comments read, one does wonder at the world, money made so easily, some folks can't even remember if anyone paid $75,000 into their bank, or to put their trousers on if a photographer is around 😮
Some of my daffs are bit sparse on buds this year, I think lack of food last year could be the problem, I remember I was going to feed FB & B but never did, rain or summat so never got done. I'll follow 2P and promise to do BFB this year, once Home B gets some in
Songs, answers are, Conway Twitty [pat on back for Dusty] and The Coors. Said it was stupid name, oh how we laughed. Guess it comes down to being separated by a common language, Randy Newman anyone?
Amazing plums 2P, a very muddled tree that one. Mine remains dormant and is still looking for the Exit
No moon pic, but I did see it for a moment last night, otherwise clouds
My Kong coleus has gone to see the Aurora, leaves dropped & stem black. I think I can pronounce death on that one ☠️

Love the moon shot Dusty 🙂 that's a special one. It's solid cloud here though it didn't rain again today thank goodness
Farway yes, I must get a photo of the plums again. I did notice some spots on about half of them. Don't know what that is but it's not good.
Bluey well fancy that! 3 plump ladybirds have a wander at this time of year 🤔 lovely to see.
Yes I ve saved some funny threads from time past. Often a chuckle. I wished I'd saved the one about sharks in the Maldives. There aren't any but people started taking blow up ones for the photos.
Mildish and not raining today. Lawn still squelching and I'm loath to take the steps out there and do the plums in case they sink. I did see a small bumblebee out yesterday. Hope it found something to eat. The hellebore when I bought it had lots of bees around and the winter flowering box is in bloom as is the witch hazel which I thought may have succumbed to the drought.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Sunny over South Wales into the mountains. Wonder if Less got some?
Nope, dull and miserable yesterday, dull and mild start today but an icy E wind soon sprang up… Nice to see others moons, ladybirds, etc; no idea on the tunes, before my time!😉

Morning all - Search Winter skin care 🤨
I should almost have got Conway Twitty you know, it was one of the answers on The Chase the other night. Bands that have taken their name from the town they were from. Or summat.
I missed your post Dusty, that moon is very atmospheric eh I’d be sat ages watching that.Bad news. They've taken KitKat Katy off us, she's been sucked up into the machine. Sigh. So they're advertising again now and I'll get another one to train up. I said to BBM if I'm a training person that requires more money or I'm not doing it. He didn't even look up from his paperwork while giving me a load of guff about …valued member of the team… middle aged wisdom… perfectly placed within the company… So I let him finish and said well you can keep that shipe for the kids that don't know any better! And he laughed 😆
Cold out there this morning, sobers have given 2’ but feels like -7. Well it’s not that cold but it is lovely and dry, which makes a nice change. It’s gusting up to 35mph which is a bit blowy for my liking.
More importantly - Only Connect has finished so when's Beechgrove starting again?

I can still remember getting a mystery £200 credit in my student bank account back in the 70s. 😃 Even today, with our vast wealth…. about £35 over the limit according to 'Entitled To' … I'd definitely notice a £200 bonus. Someone failed to pay exactly that amount around autumn 2024, and we felt that! 😐️
Conway Twitty was a lucky guess from the clue. I didn't spot the other one. Speed reading! 😕 We had quite an agenda yesterday! When I finally walked down to lock up the chickens, I spotted neighbour farmer had been active. Half the dead tree is already down! Didn't hear a thing.😮
We're lucky if we see 3 ladybirds in a month in summer, Bluey. This isn't a very ladybirdish place for some reason.😥 I'd say seeing those is a good sign.

My Kong coleus has gone to see the Aurora… ☠️
Apparently, we may all get to see the Aurora if the sun becomes extra-active and a Carrington Event occurs. Some people think this is a distinct possibility, though the odds of it happening in any century are only about 12%. It could knock out all the satellites and return us to the 1960s if it does happen. 🧐 Hmm, perhaps I'd get that Lambretta I couldn't afford back then, and people might talk to each other at bus stops. Even though that's a rare event these days, the comments in Bluey's Journal link, show how far folks have come with their attitudes. Never mind the Carrington Event, the odds of a Peasants' Revolt seem higher. If those phones go dead, look out! 😲
OT: Like others, (maybe not 2p) I felt that chill easterly yesterday. It's still there today, with added drizzle. The primroses are sluggishly awakening, but apart from them, and some bedraggled snowdrops it's still the hellebores catering for any brave bumbles.
The really dark, almost black ones, are still being shy.

I've got every ones rain in case you are missing some! It's dark, dank, drizzle and anything else suitable beginning with D
Bad luck on KK Katy YBE, sounds like you & BBM have clicked into place anyway
Still not fathomed out how to clip quotes, so i won't try for YBE thread one, but here's recent one that is definitely straight to comments after wincing 😳. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15519391/Man-24-sparks-evacuation-French-hospital-doctors-8ins-long-live-WW1-artillery-shell-rectum.html…Needed the bum disposal squad 😁
Hard to follow that, no gardening of course with the weather, I've been looking, again, on local FB for gardening assistance, just some weeding and other Ben Dover bits, honest Guv, not previous DM article related 😂, clearing some young ivy that is starting to spread
I have a few links but I'll give it a time to dry out first
Love that hellebore
Dusty, only flowers here are a couple of battered winter aconites, which seem to love my conditionsWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray5 -

Your sobers' estimates of the differences between actual and FL (which always seem about twice the difference the less-than-sobers suggest) make me wonder how they actually estimate what a FL temp is 🤔. Or maybe it's just coz you're oop north, where folks are known for going out baht 'at or coat or even jumper, hence it feeling colder than when sensibly dressed?😉

I thought that about here until last year, when we had an invasion (well, I saw at least 8, of 3 or 4 different species) - previously lucky to see one every two or three years… Certainly no bumbles about yet (nor ladybirds)…

Just refreshed to see Farway's post (BTW I'm just copying and post/pasting relevant bits then turning it into a quote by clicking on the little symbol that follows you down thelefthand side of the page when typing), which reminded me that I took these two pics day before yesterday (in the D weather, which it still is):
Looks like photo-editing options have arrived too, no time to fiddle with them now, must do something productive!
