Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Sorry to hear that Less. If it's the one I got the brain fog usually comes later. It's all an adventure as to what will hit you next.
There were crocus there. 😄
I wish I could control this double spacing 😏

No double-spacing here. I don't stand for that sort of nonsense!
The hens won't go in until the light falls to a certain level,🐔 so I notice exactly when it gets dark. It was 17.35 when I locked their door and came indoors last night.
Apart from the usual chores, another 5 barrow loads of soil and compost went into the deep bed, I also started digging the next one, tweaked the hedgehog boxes and inspected the estate. No trees fell down during Ingrid. 🏝️
I believe there were crocuses in one of 2p's pictures, Less, so no apparent brain fog in your lurgy. It's unfortunate you've succumbed after getting this far through winter.🤧 Being realistic, I expect to catch something, but maybe not until after an event I'm prepping for in early February. Then, I'll relax, the macrophages will take a holiday and then, bingo, runny nose, lethargy, and probably land requisition papers for the war effort too! 😧 Yes, we can do mangelwurzels. Red or white? Sorry, no blue.😛
Speaking of Blue(ey) she asked if our dead tree could be turned into a sculpture. I think not, as it's elm and therefore tough as old boots, but here's one I snapped earlier, in 2009.

I had actually spotted the yellow crocuses in one pic, but still something in my brain didn't point out that the Iris obviously wasn't a purple crocus… OH had been coughing over me for about a fortnight before I succumbed, so think I did pretty well… also, seems to be going over quite quickly, just the dregs left, but may be speaking too soon and other symptoms yet to come (already have brain fog most of the time, but suppose visibility distance could diminish further 😁).
Getting very blustery out there again today, seems we only get one decent day at a time at the moment…😒

There was more in my post, but the 'system' didn't like it for some reason. There was nothing controversial, like a young lady with purple hair waving a Union Jack…..😎
What I would have said was wrong, however. I claimed we were to have drizzle first, when in fact it's been pelting down. 😖 Allegedly, we'll get heavier stuff later, so I'm writing the day off now and turning to paperwork, or maybe mending the printer, if the kit comes. A bit of research revealed tricks that can see old printers resurrected, rather than added to landfill. 😇
Mind you, my confidence there is about the same as that for an accurate weather forecast! 🙃

Bit late today, it was Blood Test Day, then onto Morries for a shuffle round
There are a few more bits in the garden area, a moment off foolishness & I have bought my annual pack of Norwegian style Echinacea. I keep trying, every year, tried seeds and plants, with same deadly results, isn't that a sign of loonyness? Keep doing something & expecting a different result? 🤔
Anyway, this time it will be different, as Our Great Leader probably keeps saying to himself. I'll plant these dry roots into pots & bring them on to near death, then plant out come proper Spring
It's a blooming cold wind today, like Less, only seem to get one decent day, then back to manky.
The sun kept out yesterday and I actually got out and did something, well two things actually, with lunch in the middle
First up was re-pot my apple, from the frost damaged pot to a smart plastic one with a water reservoir. I need to get extra support sorted until roots settle back
Then, ta ra, cleaned up front patch, removed all the dead stuff, old nasturtium vines, dead or frosted leaves etc. The pelargoniums did get frosted, so cut them hard back and see how they go, not too concerned because I'm thinking of having basket / bush toms there this year
One of the Jap Ans has suffered from recent frost, blackened leaves, but it did survive the drought and I expect it will come back
After I cleared the rubbish away I can see the daffs have buds on, not ready yet, but on the way
Hope the lurgified improve, I have hints of something but nothing has come of it, no doubt I am riddled with anti bodies after all these decades, but I expect something will get through at some stage
Today's job, maybe pot up the Echinacea, otherwise it's avoid the cold wind and plan the broad beans, which i intend to "sow" onto damp kitchen paper 1st Feb, no reason, just handy date.
Just refreshed, hope the printer fix works Dusty, I did a Fix with an Epson, but it turned out to be short term and printer then turned into an ink dribbler
Ha, another one here smirking with the young lady with purple hair. 😁 Funny how things turn out, wonder what the eventual outcome will be of banning youngsters from social media? No doubt unintended consequences, like stopping Winter Fuel eventually costing more than leaving it alone

I have 2 Epsons to try with, so worth a punt.
Banning never works for long. Think back to prohibition. I hear our masters are now waffling about banning VPNS, but business uses those to stay as secure as possible from rivals. I'm sure that will go down well! 🤡 VPNs are now built into some browsers anyway, and of course, there's Tor….better not go there! 😬
Remembering last week's birthday photo, and with some time on my hands, I came up with this interesting piece today. Refreshingly, they've not gone for the full David Attenborough voiceover. 😄

Wow you got busy Farway 🙂 that's quite some achievement suddenly. Hope they all grow big and sturdy.
How you feeling Less? Get more than one day in a row without weird effects?
Dusty that link hasn't taken and I can't seem to copy it. I'll try again later.
Busy doing stuff. Legs decided to work in unison so kept going while I could. Managed to get Borrow box on the library website for stuff to read for free. Anyone use it? I've yet to explore but you can see back catalogues of magazines so some gardening hints and tips maybe.
It was actually dry and mild but dimly lit. I can deal with that.

2p, I've replaced the link above with the full video. It copies and pastes into a new window OK, and links to the site. Though ridiculous spoofs, the videos are an example of how AI technology has developed in a scarily short period of time. 😵

Much improved thanks 2P, at least I think so … it could be that brain fog prevents the fogged from realising they're suffering from brain fog…🤔

Today is back to sunshine day, but checking V'sky it seems I'm in the middle of two gert lumps of rain, one just off to France, the other one about to drown Dusty, then it's my turn.
Thanks for the haggis links Dusty, loved the tartan crabs & seaweed, and so nice to see Cullen Skink in it's natural environment 🏴
If the sun keeps up I may pot on the Echinacea [sp?], at least I have the roots out of the bag and into some water to hydrate after a spell in shop. I think it will be too chilly to make a start clearing the dead stuff from the back garden, have to see how it feels after lunch.
Maybe top dress the rhubarb in pots, I can use the old LO compost from the apple tree pot, taking care as it is enriched with cat
poofertiliser 🤢I do need to cut back some dead raspberry canes, maybe make that my first job at the back. Not hard, only about half a dozen anyway. What will be harder is a young sycamore I have spotted, behind my pear 😮Easy for anyone 50 years younger than me but it will have to be my long lopper and just cut the top off for the moment, to keep it in check
