Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Woke after another 10hrs sleep 😲 to find sunshine.
It's rained a bit, just normal and out of the blue there's a high wind. Well of course there is because I've had the washing out for 3days and just spun it and hung it inside 😐
Won't be a gardening day so looking for gardening poems to illustrate. Can't find any about gardeners though.
I was going to post some of these but there's so many good ones here's the link
Who made a comment about loosing their green thumb?
My green thumb came only as a result of the mistakes I made while learning to see things from the plant’s point of view.

Late night look at the weather and it seems warm temperatures, sunshine, no rain and light southerly breeze.
What was it about pigs and wings?

Clear blue sky & sunshine, I can see the pigs flying over 😀
Hope it keeps up, I do need to get out and re pot one of my apples, the old, and expensive, pot is cracking away after the recent frosts, it lasted a few years but I suspect it will just drop to bits if I leave it
When I was out in the garden Monday I noticed my cherry seems very sparse on fruit buds, loads last year. I wonder if the finches have been at them?
Here are some pigs going over my house, spot the micro light

It's actually sunny and pleasant outdoors today. There's the chance of a shower, but a reasonable chance exsts to get on with useful jobs, with none of that disorientating wind. I can go into the workshop without having the doors nearly wrenched off. 😀
We often feel the weather's against us., so it might be good to look back at previous January weather. Here's an example from 2010,
…….with the river freezing over! 😬
We went down to -15c here, but further up the big valley they had -19c. Water for animals was freezing in the buckets before they could drink it! Of course, all this was before global boiling. 🤣

not sure what caused the shivering, but I felt fine later in the morning. Today is blue sky and sun ,so towels have been pegged out. I have done a thorough clean of downstairs with doors and windows open.
BIL took the shrub roots to the tip, and bin men taken rest of garden stuff today. Cleaned up the drive of the bits of soil BIL dropped on way.Sorting veg for tea, might make some butternut squash soup.
Farway I always wondered what pigs flying would look like. 😂 Dusty I’m glad there’s no snow , but we aren’t out of the woods yet, I’ve seen it in April before 😳Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6 -
Saw this and it looked like a good idea https://www.fascinatewithzea.com/humorous-gardening-poems/
Faded again today. So tired. Brain fog yesterday. I was told 6 weeks and didn't believe them. Hope tomorrow is better.
Lovely sun this morning but wet and so cold. Did get a surprise out front though. Thought I'd dug them all up.
And some of these that didn't bloom last year. Thought I'd moved those too. I know they're hard to see. On the right 🙂

Flying pig weather here too 😀
or maybe 😁…
Oh gawd, now we have infinite emojis to choose from, really have no idea what all the subtleties of expression are supposed to suggest 🙄
or possibly 🤔….
No crocuses yet, but daffs have buds, and several primroses now flowering…🙂
…or possibly 😊

(Can't seem to quote selectively on this new -fangled interface, so I've done my own.😕)
I expect your immune system fought off whatever it was, wort. 👍️ Being 'customer-facing, you've probably already encountered every lurgy doing the rounds. Several times this winter I've woken and been sneezing, or feeling duff, but then it passes. I put that down to germ warfare inside me….hence the need for extra victuals and the odd dram of elixir in this season. 😉
Love the Zimmer mower 2p. IRL, I'm trying to get my ride-on mended and serviced, but the relevant tradesman isn't ringing me back. 😐️ We've not heard from the log guy either, so I'll get my digital bit of wood out tomorrow and see if there's room for another 500 litres of oil. Despite the uncertainty and tensions, the price of that is bargainferous at present. ✌️ Whoops! That was definitely not aimed at anyone who struggles with bacon sandwiches! 😁Looks like these new emojis could be a heap of trouble. 👃 I hope that one isn't what it looks like! 😲
No Iris reticulata here, but like Less, we have some primroses waking-up. Daffs are pushing through too, but not near flowering. I've arranged Rosemoor for Friday afternoon, and of course, the forecast has changed to heavy rain.
Flying pigs? Wasn't there one of those long ago over Battersea Power Station? Think it was a protest about dystopian government, or something. Ah, we're so lucky to live in these enlightened times! 💩(Hmm, where's the halo emoji gone?)

I don't think that pig is flying Dusty.
It might be related to the cow that jumped over the moon.
Lovely moon out tonight. Like daylight out there.
Btw anyone noticed it's still light after 5pm?

Hmm, I can't seem to quote either, or at least to remove the unwanted bits… but must apologise for misnomering Iris as Crocus… brain glitch, will put down to still being under influence of lergy, which finally got to me a few days ago…would include very embarrassed emoji, but can't find one among the masses of unnecessary ones 😡
Yes, definitely light after 5, at least if you're outside at the time, rather than looking out from a lit-up inside…🙂
