What a cheering picture of Whitby on this dank morning, thanks YBE. I've never been there but seen plenty of it on YT etc, I think I would like it there, well I would've, but the hills would do me in now

I like the toadstools as well PP, like Dusty, I never see those about either

Another of my "never haves" is eaten or seen a live Parmo, not local fodder here. Surprising how it has not spread around, like deep-fried Mars bars have.

I've just checked, seems I could buy frozen ones, and I may even do that 

When I was searching frozen parmo, Duck Duck AI came and helped, unasked, could he be my secret snitch from now on?

Flu like symptoms continue, only slightly and seem to come & go, I was shivering wrapped in a blanket yesterday evening, but certainly slept well last night.

Managed to water a bit, the trough of mixed annuals I was worrying over, doing well now & even has some pot marigolds in flower, with chance of self seeding there.

The pansies wot I planted a week or so back have settled in well and are now showing signs of fresh growth

Picked more ripe cherry toms from outside, the plants are still ripening at the moment

Sampled one of the large unknown toms that appeared, lovely & juicy and with a touch of salt, it's heaven. Seed smeared for next year

Try again with my ref Filbert photo, it's same size as I always use, 1000 pixels

That failed, but here's a blackberry in blossom, same camera & method, gawd knows what's going on

And, OT & as trial, here's one of my AI sorted photos, AI worked wonders on her, my Great grandaunt

I have no idea why the photo is sideways or how to change it but you get the drift 😉
Hope it doesn't trigger poppy's vertigo.

Very cold, wet and cloudy. The darkness makes me want to sleep 

Tried the compost tomato, very much supermarket flavour but more tomatoey, guess it was one composted. 
In fact the others have lost their sweetness but still better than shop ones.
Much like growing potatoes from supermarket ones, better but not flavoursome.

Wet?  Ah, looking at the radar, it just missed us.  Fortunate, as I'm prepping an area for grass, and I need to rake to a fine tilth. Any old tilth will have to do if it rains!  So far, I've removed 2 barrow loads of stones, and 1.5 of weeds. I know it's late, but with all the global boiling, it'll come up OK.;)  I'm reprising Farway's Charles Laughton with the way I'm walking now, though! Where was Esmeralda when I needed her?  :'(

I must take a snap of our volunteer toms. While not special, they're very acceptable and so far they've dodged the whitefly, splitting, and sooty mould affecting the remaining planned-for ones. Will they still be there at Christmas, I wonder? I once grew toms for Christmas and they were rubbish.

Sorry, I mentioned the C word before All Hallows Eve.....that's 25 points off my social credit score.

This tunnel, comprised of trained and clipped evergreen oaks, was a more unique feature at Tapeley Park. From the outside, it looks like a long shed. It's in the background in the picture below.

The man on the scaffolding isn't launching a drone to look for wayward OAPs, trapped by the lake. He may be waving.

I'm like you.  No judgement. My thanks are for making an effort. Without people doing that, there's no thread.

I've just heard, the anticyclone over us is expected to move and allow the jet stream back at the weekend, meaning some wet weather from the west. Suits me, so long as it's light to moderate wetness. Still no sign of anyone coming to cut our field hedges.

My view when we arrived today… the ferry is still there tonight all lit up 😍 the forecast for the next few days isn’t great - low cloud and grey. Off to some beautiful beaches tomorrow and maybe a wee wild swim. Will catch up over the next couple of days - currently supping wine in the accommodation… 😊

I don't know of that's comical or annoying about your black trucks Dusty... I haven't got the Wot3Words app to check but is anybody's ErseDrinkGirls...? And if there is would that put the house price up?  

Good to hear the bleach is finally leaving your system your symptoms are easing Farway Hurrah for heavenly toms, worth the wait then eh. Your Great GrandAunt looks a formidable woman, bet she had some stories in her. I shouldn't be giving it free ideas but can AI make photos talk yet? And if the data scrapers find this and are for using my idea I want 90% of the profits or you're not having it.

That's a bu99er about your toms 2p, but a good little experiment eh. I gave you my first, and possibly only, "interesting" for that I use the thanks button same as you, cos it's good of people to take the time answering my dumb questions and sharing stories and being interesting in general   

Have a fab hoilday pp and sod the weather. So long as it's not horizontally raining it'll be grand. I don't what it is about lights on water at night, but I could sit for hours watching them  

OT same old same old. Grey, murky, damp, pointless. Just rain and get it out of your system will ya. The weekend change seems so long away when it's like this...

So is an 'interesting' button the beginning and the end of it then? Interesting is too close to thanks imo, they shouldn't have bothered. I'd sooner have had an aye right / ach yer hole button but I don't remember being asked... Might have answered my own question there Ooh just in case they're reading - could you sort out the emojis so I don't have to type out clapping or rolleyes every bladdy time thankyouplease? 

I don't know what happened there! It decided half my post was fine and kept the rest back :grrr: Maybe I'm out of social credits... how many free credits do you get for accepting an eye-dee card?

I'm not joining it. 

I see we also have two 'read-only' boards now, where further contributions can't be made. In other words, these were the really contentious areas. In the words of a former CIA agent, “If something's presented in a manner where dissent or discussion appears unthinkable, it's definitely a psychological operation.”  I'll leave that there! 

Love your view, pp, even if the palms don't seem to fit! I envy your courage to contemplate a wild swim. I imagine sea temperatures up there are still decent-ish.....hopefully.

DomNon today, as we have a meeting here tonight, so not much gardening.  :'( The meeting? Oh, just a few folk gathering intel.....everyone's been watching Ana on the Tube and getting ready for the arrival of 3I/ATLAS. That's when the revolution starts  the lights go out.  We might also consider next year's Garden Club events. 

Today's photo is of a plant I've not seen for years; the Toad Lily. It likes damp soil, and we dry out too much in summer. The 'occupational soil' at Tapeley Park obviously suits it. 

Hand for scale. It's not a biggie.

OT: Same old grey. They say 'sunny intervals.' They lie!
