Sunny start, even more, so now I'm on the W11 'puter, finally got it sorted yesterday afternoon, not got all my old programmes moved over yet, you know, the ones with eye patches, hook hands, wooden legs & parrots
My old one was declared decrepit and not suitable for posh W11, so I was intending to add my $30 to Mr Gates' cash pile for an extra year of updates, but the computer beat me to it and pulled its internet plug outDustyevsky said:I see from following-up Farway's post, I'll soon be busy upgrading my 'puter to W11, as support for W10 stops next month. It might not cost anything, but I'll bet it doesn't go smoothly. If I disappear, expect me back in January.
Hope yours goes well. I've found that locating all the passwords and installation key codes is the main PIA.For some reason, I have a red dot with denied access permissions on some Office type programme. One for another day
YoungBlueEyes said:Edit - can't believe I forgot to tell yous this - Eco Worrier was sackedApparently she was telling people that everything can be done by email now (it can't) and there's no need to actually sign and return paperwork (not true) because it's a waste of precious paper. They pulled her up on it but she persisted so BBM sacked her. And I missed it
I think it was only recently that Acts of Parliament were no longer required to be written on animal skin Vellum, your ex newbie would've loved filing rolls of dead animal skinsI suppose you'll get another one to train up?Gardening, I may have to get watering again, despite being cold, it's also dry & the pot plants are wilting againYoungBlueEyes said:I thought the 'rule' for planters was a big tall thing up the middle, some middley tall things for a bit of bulk, then some trailing things round the edge. Because I listen to rules and do that all the timeI've found a new toy, my AI mate lets me play about without using any plants. I think this would be ideal for anyone trying to design a garden, where to put a tree etc.Take a garden photo, ask AI chum to plant, say, a Cox apple over there, behind the lupins, and show you it in summerHere's my pots at the front, next AprilI tried with daffs but decided the alliums are betterThe pots are not yet planted, but vine weevils & squirrels allowing, this is what I hope to see next springI've yet to work out my curly writing on this PCGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot3 -
Does AI include slugs and snails? 😁
Does it tell you how far away from the fence to plant it and how much sun etc? Curious to know how much it knows. 🤔
And yes, that wedding photo was beautiful. Much better than staged ones. It really shows the moment. 🙂
Sunny and blue skies with puffy little clouds but chilly. The grass is still very wet. It's going to need mowing again soon.
I've been jam making after a foray into the villages yesterday and some more flavoursome blackberries.
Got some walnuts too but don't know what they are like yet. It's been a bad year for them.
Also picked more tomatoes which because many are split will probably become soup. I've been a bit lax what with them ripening so late.
Re sacking of eco person, that should make your life easier?
My friend at dancing says she's about to blow with the woman who thinks she knows it all.
I've told her to let me know when it's likely as I want to see that 😈I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

It really shows the moment. 🙂Yes, AI, Gemini 2.5 works from the instructions you give, so you could put a red X on your photos and say plant a tree there. If you specify, perhaps, East, or even better long & lat, which you could get from Google Earth, then you can tell it show at 1500 June 15If you wanted, you could then ask for 1000 on Oct 23 etcI just said show me April for my flower tubs, 'cos I knew flowers would be outI'm going to tinker later, but first I need to set up my boring internet banking on new PCBTW, the wedding photo, using a copy of the photo, the mobile phone could easily be swapped for a posy of posh flowers, or a cabbage.Just a thoughtTo demonstrate swapping, here's my mum during the war. It is fascinating.
I could do with it for organising my furniture which I'm hopeless at. Give me a garden and I've lots of ideas. Houses and furniture bore me.
I don't have time for learning it but given if I have the op it's 6 weeks of no driving that may be the time.
My computer still runs on Windows 7 though and memory almost full of photos.
Still, a lot can happen in the meantime.
I've started planting stuff in pots to take with me if I move . Garlic chives for one as they are difficult to germinate from seed.
