I love to find out what you've been up to Farway.
Of course now we can't believe a thing you post 😆
Dusty fingers crossed for some more sunshine for your grapes. Would foil behind them make any difference?
Not a lot to report. It's been 'one of those days ' neighbours son woke me, sounded like a cat mis jumping at the window, spending hours getting essential apps only to find they don't work and ask you to phone 😬 if they'd given the number in the first place it would have saved time and my blood pressure.
The nice bit going to see my friends art exhibition and getting a lovely coffee.
I think that counts as gardening because this is what she paints 😉
Hmmmm, yup. One of those days, the link of any of her stuff won't post!
Jenny Barron artist greeting cards it was,..........ah ha! Got it 🙂

I'm guessing there are no flowers yet on Compostbag carparkii? Can't zoom in enough to see...A new (I think) bum, to the forum...That's a mouldy Tom Putt (the apple), another mouldy one on adjacent tree (Lord Lambourne) had hornet and Red Admiral visiting yesterday, but at least this year they're not all scabby or mouldy - pic to prove it7

PS fab pictures by your artist friend 2P...5

Morning all
Yep I think Compostybag Carparkii is too late too Dusty, but it's still doing. It's put a good foot or so on while I was away. We've no frosts here yet - our overnight temps are around 8ish but it won't be long 'til they drop. That's a bu99er about your grapes, and from a gc tooShipbags. Hopefully MrsD's hand heals quickly.. I remember when himself caught his hand in the table saw at work, they said it's particularly painful cos of all the nerves you have in your hand. They're very complex apparently. And aye, what happened to Mr Monopoly's monocle??
Good job I hadn't just taken a swig of coffee or it'd be all over my keyboard now with your hotel chain quip gb
You sickening for something with your not sleeping Farway? Mum pic was really good, it did look real. The scary clever bit was the shadows, they're tricky (or used to be, if I remember rightly from my long ago computer gaming days). Those apples look like good eatin'I think if I started with AI it'd enthrall me entirely and I'd never go to work again for I'd be all day on it ha haa!
Ooh your friend is some artist 2p, I love those paintings, very William MorrisThat deffo counts as gardening imo. An exhibition of those would lower your blood pressure rightly. No signs of Hateful Son moving out then? How's his mum doing with it all?
Is that a Hornet Bum Less? Deffo a new oneI've never heard of either of those apples (shocker) but I'd deffo try one. Not the on ein the first pic though :boke: Nope no flowers nor nothing on Compostybag. I did think it was for producing something different on it's ends but they were just more leaves
I can only do the one side too cos it's in a private carpark, but hopefully it'll sit there 'til Springtime and then we'll see what it can do :fingerscrossed:
I should go check my apples really, I can see them from my kitchen window so I know they’re still on the tree but that’s all I know.So horticultural vinegar isn’t worth it then? I did mention it to ‘Lily’ the gardening one at work yesterday but she hadn’t heard of it either. She gave me a tip though - her friend has the loveliest garden and what she’s been doing is feeding the whole thing with Tomrite (sp?). Someone told her it degrades if you keep it too long so she bought new stuff and then watered her whole garden with the old stuff. Her begonias and petunias are particularly good on it, but her whole garden is lovely in generalOh and Asda have BFB she said.
OT still the same, happily. Cool and damp out there now, but sunny and mild all day. 9'c currently and up to 15' later, possibly. I need to shift meself for I've a lot to do today. DomNon, food shop, and I need to do name change things with the bank and council etc. I only hope the council is open - they have a wee office here and it's opening hours are only 1000-1430, but I've sometimes nipped round on my lunch break and it's shut! For their lunch hour! I'll be looking for a job application form while I'm in there. My husband told me to stop speaking in numbers, but I don't 1 2.7 -
Thanks for friends complement on her paintings Less and Bluey 🙂
I've known her for years through her exhibitions and got a couple of her paintings, loads of cards.
But she's kindly offered one trip if I have to go to far off hospital and there's always refreshments when you do.
Lives in an old terrace cottage full of mismatched china and things she picks up here and there. It's lovely and cosy. Makes you wonder why some spend a fortune on pristine must have houses which make people scared to sit down, shoeless .
But I have a lot of arty friends like that.
People before things.
Those apples look tasty Less. Brilliant photo of the beastie 🙂
Bluey our council offices are small and much the same. Never open for one reason or other and only half a day. Trying to find which half is a puzzle 🤔
Not much planned for today. A bit of fun and a bit of domestic this morning then either the garden or the garage.
Spoilt sons mother not speaking so I don't know how it's going. Everything is changing around here and not my quiet bolt hole any more.
OT before I get going, 6c this morning 😲 but the wind has dropped and sun out so doesn't feel it thank goodness.

Greenbee glad dog 🐶 is recovering well. I only knew that as dd works in a vets, I have to say I have learned some interesting things from her.
Dusty glad the van past and Mrs Dusty is ok .
Farway how do you get AI to I’d the apples ? Was it an app ?YBE I have the same scarf in 2 colour ways ,the other is blue with white birds. Good luck with the weeding. I have some things growing in the gravel that I recognize the leaves of but can’t for the life of me remember what it is. I might take photo and see if you experts can.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6 -
2 p how clever is your friend ,those are lovely paintings. What a shame your peace and happiness is spoiling your little haven.
Less that’s a fab photo, 1st or not such detail. Well done getting fruit you can eat too.
YBE I don’t get to Asda much but will defrost look if near anytime soon. I use tomorite for flowering stuff, when I remember.
weather Out of the window looks sunny ,no doubt it will be chilly. I may dabble outside today because it looks too nice to be stuck indoors. Plus the bins been emptied 😂

Of course now we can't believe a thing you post 😆That's the problem. I fear we'll soon have Donald Trump reciting Wordsworth, or Greta Thunberg drag racing, sponsored by Ann Summers. Never mind, when the digital ID arrives, we'll finally know if Bill Gates is actually the same person as Kermit the Frog. That's reassuring, surely?Jenny Barron's website was real enough, and a grand opening to the day, so thanks for that. The only gardening news I have is yesterday's exhumation of one cold frame, where my 'wee cuttings' got somewhat out of hand. Put it this way, the buddleia was over 1m high, and I knew it was useless trying to save it.So, more cuttings of cuttings!
The escallonias and other shrubs were somewhat smaller, so a few of those may survive the transplanting.
With Mrs D on the mend, I'm hoping to go for a walk today, so I'll look out for bums or other things of note.Today, we're due for 17c, with the wind going round from east to west and perhaps some cloud later. However, the weather looks set fair for a good few days yet, so maybe Mrs D and I can also get a garden visit in soon.
I'm sure we have a Tom Putt somewhere, Less. We've certainly plenty of Red Admirals on fallen fruit, but I've not seen the hornets for a while, and wasps are rare here this year.A week or so ago, we had orchids from 2p and wort. We also used to get many throw outs of those, and at least half a dozen still survive. The other plants that arrived via the same source were cyclamen. Rather than throw them away when over, those were planted in a dry, shady hedge bank, and despite being the 'wrong' sort, some return with a further display.Just say, "No!"7 -
I had a 'conversation' with AI yesterday - it was like talking to a real person, only more helpful
Thanks for checking with garden person about the horticultural vinegar, YBE. It's definitely a thing, but I think I'll go with Farway's recommendation of the Glyphosate if it's cheaper than the vinegar. It's probably more effective too.
Lovely cyclamen, Dusty. My wee pot that I bought from HB a couple of years ago didn't survive. I'll have to buy some more, because I do like them. The plants that I bought to make the front garden look pretty have gone a bit mad. I was hoping they'd stay low, but they've got long offshoots now and look a bit messy. I'm not too bothered though because they're still flowering and I'm definitely not a Hyacinth Bouquet type of garden (or house) person
Fab hornet bum pic, Less. I'm not sure I would have got that close to one of them though. We had a wasp flitting around an open window this morning, so said window was swiftly shut to keep it out.
Lovely day today - sunny and breezy. Heavy rain forecast tomorrow...'A watched potato will never chit'...7 -
