Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Well yes, couldn't get in this morning 😬
Not much point either because it was (unpredicted) high winds. They have a warning now. Bit late as the crowds have been out and about but we all had hair like - we'd been pulled through a hedge backwards.
Nothing garden wise to report. There's a lot of hollyhock seed around which may just fall into my pocket. I gave up growing them because in my last place they just got rust but I have a fancy to grow them again.
Been out and about to the repair shop, art week studios and some great advice from an artist friend about the hip op.....or should I say hip hop because there was a 40s weekend in a town nearby. That was good and all 🙂
The tomatoes I tethered are still up but it's blowing a hoolie out there so we'll see tomorrow morning.
Just right for settling down with a glass of something medicinal and watching Strictly 🙂
Farway, you are naughty 😉
Fairies are still standing out there.
Lovely nuts Less 😁
Dusty I so want one of those cakes! They look delicious 😋I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Of course, it might not work for others, and it might be coincidence too, so a longer term trial is under way.
Which reminds me - the Beach flower arrangement - very nice, but not sure that I've seen many of those plants in maritime situationsMy feet must stay yellow in the interests of staying within the rules by not actually mentioning the supplement I've tested for a time. Despite the great freedom of speech our Leader assures us we have, I've found discussion of anything vaguely medical here somewhat tricky. Turmeric is cooking, not meds. It's also worth saying turmeric has found other uses within our family in recent years. For example, it's essential to coat the bride and bridegroom with it on the night before their wedding....if you're a Hindu, that is!I'm not sure why, but perhaps it stimulates parts other spices don't quite reach!
OT:It was all lies about the sunny day here.We had a wet morning followed by a brief sunny interval, when, after discovering the above maidens, peering through Mr Canute's privacy fence, I foolishly tried to clear the 80' gutter on the barn. Suddenly, all hell was let loose, and I had to flee to the polytunnel.
90minutes of pirking-out followed, accompanied by horrible thrashing noises, before I gave up and came indoors. Poor Bluey, if it was nasty here, I dread to think what it's been like around the Lakes, where the worst of it seems to have gone...or did we decide she went further south?
Just say, "No!"6 -
Well it looks alright up there give or take a bit of rain but that's why they've got lakes right 😆
My take was the fact she's not posting means she's having a good time.
If you want fairies try this painting from Edinburgh national gallery.
The man who painted it had had a row with the council but accepted and paid for his classical painting.

Congratulations YBE 🥂 how wonderful. You or someone who looks a bit like you 😉 looks fabulous.
Glad the weather behaved for your honeymoon !The weather here has been good all week up to yesterday, it rained the fine wet stuff all day and poured all evening and night. So although I did nothing yesterday ,I got my steps in last night going back and forth to the front door with the cat , who decided each time we got there it was too wet 🫣Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.7 -
Oh, WOW, Bluey! You don't do things by halves, do you?
Congratulations!
And of course you look like that IRL! As Farway says, “The camera never lies!”
I'm so glad you didn't get the weather I thought you might be getting in this most important week. And you got the Silver Swan's bum picture, another first!
Unlike me, I'm now lost for words.....so I'll nip off and see if I approve of the Bowes Museum being a suitable gaff for us to invest our Euromillions in.Once again, big congrats to you and Martin, who looks very distiguished and determined to hang on to you!Just say, "No!"7 -
Wow Bluey😁 that's wonderful 💕💗💕
You know you've got a good one because you tried him out first. Good idea 😉
May you have many happy years of fun ahead.
Did you tell Cissy first?
I've seen that swan on telly but it must be amazing in real life. Beats my silver gnome.
Gloomy windy and chilly here at 9c.
Not a gardening day for sure.
Not sure what it holds to be frank. Life's a surprise all round.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I forgot to say I went to Home bargains this week to get blood fish bone, the gardening section has gone !! Replaced by Xmas and Halloween 😤
I need to find a decent price else where now.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.4 -
Thanks folks
Despite me telling himself that he's putting a bit too much timber on and he needs to lay off the biscuits and crisps he disagreed, so all the wedding pictures have him with his top shirt button undone cos he couldn't close it
Anyway, I've caught up. On the subject of shoes - Beloved Cousin has crumbly bones, and she swears by FitFlops for her ankles. They don't do anything for your bones obviously, but they improve the muscles to support your bones, itms. I know she's tried good trainers, trainers + proper insoles, proper walking boots, and short Du Barry boots, but the FitFlops are the ones she's sticking with. And for walking sticks - I bought daddy one when he was getting a tilt on him and it made him worse tbh. He stopped using the muscles down that side cos the stick would do the work, so he went back to going slow and even, and he said he felt the better for it. If that helps anyone...
I did tell Cissie first 2p, she'd never have forgiven me if I didn't! I was worried she'd get all chewed up about not being able to come over but she was fine  Hopefully Bowes passes muster Dusty, it was a lovely place, in a lovely spot, and not tooo big. The staircase was impressive, but whoever laid the steps did it right - they were shallow and wide - so even though there are a good few of them it's no bother trotting up and down themAnd I was pleased to note that, even though it was a long old poke to get there, my eyesight was absolutely fine
Do yourself a favour and upgrade to dogs wort. Cats will mess you about 'til Kingdom come cos they're full of badness like thatShout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.6 -
Bright & sunny, with next week forecast of more of the same.Wow, that was a surprise Bluey, congratulations to you both. Go on, tell me you were married in the Blacksmiths at Gretna ! I've been there, on a coach trip, stayed at Gretna Hall hotel, I think. And a touch of Chatsworth in your garden next year
, hope that works out.

If one near you, Morrison sometimes have it on clearance, helps feed the dead plants they sell.twopenny said:If you want fairies try this painting from Edinburgh national gallery.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Quarrel_of_Oberon_and_TitaniaThat is a cracking painting 2P, should fit in the Bothy at Rottery Acres !I binned some tomatoes from the front pots, no more to ripen & I want the space for bulbs & pansies, but first I must make chicken wire, anti squirrel, pot covers. Job for next week's fine weather. No garden pics today, but here's me + brother on holiday at Hayling Island back in the mid 50s.AI used to colourise it.Me in blue shirtNumerus non sum7 -
Wonderful photo Farway, aren't you a handsome lad. 🙂
Yes, that painting I walked by the first time thinking it was just a pretty picture. Then I noticed something and was there for ages.
The reason made me chuckle and it was hung by the councillor s in the office for some time before the real one was pointed out.
I could see Dusty doing something like that 😉
Yup stick staying because despite medics saying oh the hip, back won't give way it does. Either that or it sets solid and won't bend.
Anyhoo people are kind sometimes and help when I'm crook.
Still windy and flinging a bit of rain around so doing all the jobs I've put off. Needs another week of that really 😕I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
